It's pretty impressive for being so young.
Don’t forget to change the knock sensor they are brittle and will crack from just looking at them.
As well as the starter they tend to grind on the fly wheel after just a couple years old.
And the O-ring for the top sprocket for the timming chain.
But also, you forgot the top O-ring for the vtec solenoid common leak area, you’ll most likely have to get it aftermarket from Kraken.
I can watch Quinn build engines all day long! His enthusiasm, combined with the informative way of talking us through the build, love it! Next up... something European? Like a BMW straight six? Or a supercharged Jaguar V8?

At least once a week I think about selling my AP1 in 2015 and always feel a little regret, videos like this make it hurt all the more lol, even on the inside the s2k is such a beauty.

I’ve owned a turbo one for 11 years and it’s been broken in my shop for 5 years. I have other cars but this video just inspired me and she will live again!

I enjoy watching engine builds as well. I just wanted to say that anyone with a bit of mechanical knowledge, a factory service manual, and tools can do this! Its like legos for big kids!

Quinn should have his own engine building masterclass. Also, I've been waiting on my Supra shirt since November.
I would pay for automotive classes if Quinn was the instructor. I would pass too because he explains everything, even why things would break or what best practices he is following so well. I also like when anyone in the shop is joking about not knowing something but being clear that they don't know something. That is the key to learning and growing, admitting you don't know something.
The Mad Scientist! These are by far my favorite videos on this channel. I’d love to see a rotary or LS build like some have said but top of my list would be a Porsche flat six or even a 944 build. They scream like nothing else and the engineering is incredible. Would be something new and cool for the channel too.

It's molded into the bottle the direction on how to pour the oil bottle (the little circle). You're pouring it upside down. Keep up the good work 👏

Heck, just rebuild any engines in the inventory which u haven't touched. Watching ur rebuilds are damn satisfying. I'd send my engine had I'm not on the other side of the world.

Definitely should have had those rods machined since you're using a different fasteners. Sure you can get away without it, but it's not technically correct. Also im really surprised you didnt open the ring gap up. The oe gap was set for a 200hp engine, this will likely run over double the factory power level. I dont understand why you wouldn't have opened them while apart 🤷
Facts. I would have replaced the rods AND pistons. Full head machine work and block. This is just basically an OEM rebuild with ARP hardware. Might hold the power, but for how long? I think THROTTLE has a set budget for these builds and doesn't want to go over that. If it was their car to keep, I think they would go all out.
Factory unopened engines run fine even at 600hp for years. Been done a bunch of times. I'm sure it will be fine, plus if the kit ever comes off because the new owner wants to go back to NA the ring gap won't be too large.

The 1.8T out of an old golf or gts jetta would be a sick rebuild. they can be a little annoying, but a lot of fun regardless.

any reason for the k&n oil filter? I heard you're only supposed to use the oem filter as honda uses a special filter specifically for the s2000

Best build mods for those and the k series engines are bolts/studs,head gasket and block guard. Everything else has been taken care by Honda

i got a suggestion for a full build, and i think there isnt many out there... i really like the new Abarth 124 spider how about that with some widebody spoiler and a huge turbo or just natural aspirated to run like 11k rpm. Would be even fun put it against the s2000 in the end.

You might want to look into an aftermarket TCT because the oem one won’t handle the power as well. They are known to not last very long. I personally switched to the ballade sports TCT and hasn’t given me any problems.
do an ft86 FA20, they are built to spin rod bearings. with a lot of them hitting that age we are only going to see more needing an overhaul

A rotary would be amazing but I just don't think there are enough people out there using them. Oh man...build a killer 3-rotor...But aside from that I'd say a good ole fashioned LS for the swap crowd. Like some giant N/A monster.
