This job could be quick and only takes 15-20 minutes if all the bolts cooperate but can get ugly real quick. The first time I pulled the inner wells out of my c10 every single thread clip broke so the bolt would just spin and I had to grind the head off of every single one of those 1/2in headed bolts on both sides, it took a solid 4 hours to do but now that I replaced the hardware I can pull them out in 10 min.
Thanks you save me some time everyone I took out didn't have a battery box or anyting but I got to take one out of a fully dressed truck just to get my heater core replaced first time my Chevy broke down unless you count thermostats alternators and starters
These truck are really not cheap to buy anymore depending on where you live, in FL a totally rotten shortbed will still fetch $3,000+ all day. Some places they are still cheap like texas but they are becoming highly sought after.
Do you have to take it completely off to get to the bottom bolts on the heater core housing or can i just take out half and let the wheel well sag down so to have enough room to remove it ?
What did you do with all your wiring? We’re you able to hide it or did you just zip tie everything? Would love to see some top side pictures. Thanks in advance for any info!
Are you planning on doing anymore videos of the ‘77 K10 you guys named Frank? If I remember right, it’s your sons truck that sat abandoned for 10 years.
We'll get back on it at some point. He's working and trying to finnish high school, and I've been busy also. Ole frank will get going one of these days.
Thanks for taking the time to do this video.
You're welcome, figured I might as well while I was putting Squeaky on a diet.

You can get to them without moving the inner fender.
Can you take the emblems out from there? Or u gotta remove the whole fender?
Is the battery tray still functional after removing the inner fender?
Yes

The factory wiring all connects to the drivers fender. It's all as gm intended it to be on this truck
@@SquarebodyStuff Cool. Thank you for the reply!
No problem
can you get away with running no inner fender and the battery box being fine? 🤔
I've been running it that way for over a year now.
Is this similar on a 67-72?
I believe so
@@SquarebodyStuff Ok Cool thx!
Thx guy!!!
You're welcome
What if the clips are turning?
You might have to cut the head of the bolt off.
The intro made me laugh out loud!
More weight gone and better access to the engine!
