Just unboxed and bound my cinepro, am pretty new, and the only issue I ran into was trying to figure out what protocol to bind the frsky XM+ receiver too. Hard to find as hens teeth! Finally stumbled on it, X2 worked for me. This is one of the roughest hobbies as far as learning curves go! Would love to find a series of beginner vids, unfortunately all I find are from several years back, hardware and software have changed a lot. Would be nice to see something coming out for those of us that know just enough to be dangerous! Appreciate all you do for the community.
The way that I understand it is that the new action cameras (GoPro Hero/DJI Action) stabilize the footage using gyros and/or accelerometers within the camera itself. But with quadcopters, we already have that information in the flight controller. So, theoretically, someone could make some software that uses a recording of the data from the flight controller, syncs it with the footage from the quad, and outputs stabilized footage, right? If so, someone please make this :)

@@erikm9768 Do you mean from the motors and props? Seems like you could just filter out those oscillations since they are high frequency right?
Since it's filming wide angle 4k, you can crop the video slightly and use physical stabilization in your video editor. That's what I plan to do when I get this quad

Without even watching this all the way through yet, I have to say that this is the baddest ass looking micro I've ever seen. GepRC kills it... still fly the Elegant and Mark often, and they're solid!. Back to the rest of the video, thanks Justin.

Hay Justin, Great video and review of the GEPRC cinepro, I haven't seen much to nothing else on the 4K camera yet but I would have liked that GEPRC would have used their 3in. Cygnet 145mm instead of the 2 in. But I'm sure that they had there reason. Thanks again for the info and can't wait to see how's next.

GepRC recommends only using a 4s 650 as the largest but I think they may be over cautious, I cannot see why not using a 4s 850 for only 30 grams difference. I think there is more than enough power to accommodate the extra 30 grams, but again please let me know.
I just found out that they now have 4K Cinema whoops, that's fantastic. Great review and test flight.

Another great review, footage looks pretty amazing! Really cool flying out over the lake chasing the float plane. I don't have much confidence flying over water yet (or sketchy terrain), just don't want to deal with the consequences. Probably wont be as worried about it once I build up a quiver of quads :)
Oh I should mention I am using crossfire, that should not make a difference with dshot1200, I have a BetaFPV 85x and it is using dshot1200 no issues. But thought I should mention that I do have crossfire on my cinepro.
Looks like it’s pretty good quality video, might not have stabilisation but still looks a as though it’s good enough to upload without much editing. I might have to have a look at this quad, maybe even another purchase that I can’t really afford lol.

I Love this little quad!!
I cant for the life of me get my Cinepro to connect to betaflight. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers. My 3 other quads connect fine. But not my F722 Flight controller on my Cinepro. Ive watched hours of you tube videos trying to get this figured out. Any suggestions??
Just a few years ago this would’ve cost over $600 to do with 250 size quads and full-sized GoPros. Craziness.

my tv's TH-cam app only goes to 1080p. When you upoad 2.7k, or 4k it downscales to 720p. Bummer.
You pay that bit extra, but the quality in my experience so far is worth every cent.

What RC controller and type of FPV goggles did you use to operate this Drone dude?
Hey buddy, any opinion on the proshot1000???? I am not a fan of the dshot600, it seems like the accelerometer calibration is not stable on the dshot600, not sure why. I have an beta 85x and I calibrated it flat once and then did minor stick corrections and it has never needed any recalibration, with any of my other drones the calibration seems to change with every battery change and needs to be messed with taking flight time away. And now I am seeing that again with the cinepro and dshot600. I am asking you if you think proshot1000 would be good, I have been hearing proshot is rock solid and stable. There are guys that I am sure have not tried it trolling it, but I am interested in your opinion, you are a guy that tests stuff and I am sure you have at the least looked at it. There is not a lot so guys like you and Joshua Bardwell that have even looked at this protocol, can you please consider doing something on it.

One difference I've seen on the Cinepro's frame vs the rest of the CX series, the center section with the electronics has been milled out. They removed half the layers of carbon on the top and bottom.
I bought one. I am 73 and screw these things up. The engines would not arm , frskt x usr. I don't knw which port, and I hit reset settings- it reset to betaflight, not GEPRC. Is it posible to email me the origunal settings (or near) for CLI. Ane which port settings. I thank you in advance for your help!!

Very cool drone, any hints on if or where you might be able to pick up replacement prop guards? That's the one thing that always turns me off of these models is sourcing the parts that break.

Just got mines delivered but must admit that I'm a bit disappointed. Got the BNF from Bangood with r-xsr receiver. Can't get telemetry to my Taranis and I suspect it was not wired correctly. Also getting terrible noise/interference on goggles whenever the Taranis is turned on. I'm new to this so don't quite now how to solve these problems. Have been trawling the internet but so far no luck. Also got one of the prop guards broken after first crash in grass......not impressed.

I love this little drone.. I just have one big issue. I upgraded to the Version 2 Tarsier because I took a little crash and one of the boards for the camera died oh, so I ordered a new camera and the two boards. Installed them in works. One big problem is sometimes the video has a purple video play icon. When that happens. The file will not play at all on phone or computer. It says file is not usable.
It should have a little icon with a picture of the video, then it plays and works perfectly! It is an intermittent problem. Extremely frustrating!! Help please lol

Still trying to find out if this drone can take bigger than 32gb sd card, can it take a 64gb. I cannot find the answer anywhere, no manual came with the drone, no manual is on the companies website, I would like to get a 64gb but cannot confirm, the company also is not answering support tickets at all, submitted one 2 weeks ago, still nothing back, very sad when you buy this and no documentation is given at all.not in the box and not online.
Hey justin, the tarsier does come with a clip to keep the sd card in, not sure why geprc didnt install it, doesnt seem needed since it clicks in, unlike Blackbox sd cards which go missing in a crash..

I've been looking into drones like this for the past few months but I am a novice when it comes to racing drones. I fly cinematic drones for businesses but want to get into this for angles and shots not capable by larger cinematic drones. I purchased this quad on the strength of your review but have found that the LEDs are not really addressable (working intermitently at best) and the Caddx Tarsier noise level prevents the addition of a GPS. I know that may be beyond the scope of your review but the LED issue, while not a show stopper, is still something that you should have mentioned. Any idea as to how to fix these issues?

Drone Camps RC There are several TH-cam videos on the LED issue. Painless 360 suggested adding a diode to reduce the voltage on the 5 volt line since addressable LEDs are voltage sensitive. That did not work for me. I will be trying copper shielding for the Caddx Tardier noise issue. Thanks

Hey buddy I need your help, finally just got my Cinepro, and setting it up in betaflight, I cannot choose dshot1200, there is all the shots but 1200, there is even proshot, but dshot1200 is missing. Did I not set something right and it took away the choice of dshot1200 or did I get a bad drone from gep????? Everything else seems ok, really strange Dshot1200 is just plain gone out of the list. Hope you can help me out.
1200 was removed from Betaflight. Use 600 with no problems.
Thanks for getting back to me sooooo fast. I appreciate it, and if I was not such a noobie, I should have figured that out. I was on the verge of it as you sent that message I was reading how it was removed from 4.1, but my brain was thinking well is I have this betaflight 85x and it has dshot1200, then the cinepro should as well right!!!! Wrong, lmao. I have betaflight 10.6.0 and it made sense that dshot should be there since it is on my beta, what I did not understand is that I never flashed either drone, and then it hit me I looked at the version of the firmware and compared the 2 drones, and my betafpv 85x has 3.5.7 and the cinepro has 4.1.1 and it then hit me, as long as I do not flash the betafpv 85x with what ever version the 10.6.0 betaflight has for the firmware it will still have dshot on the 85x and the cinepro already came with 4.1.1. I have not tried this and I do not want to, but in theory is the firmware version on betaflight 10.6.0 has older firmware than 4.1 for the cinepro then I should be able to get dshot 1200 on the cinepro. Just an idea, I am not sure cause I am so new. It seems to me that my betafpv 85x seems better flying than the cinepro, no I am new, and the cinepro is a much bigger and maybe more powerful drone, so it will Handel different and it may have nothing to do with dshot1200 vs 600 at all. Let me know what you think bro. Also perhaps I should be thinking about using proshot 1000 instead of dshot600. Or maybe I should look at downgrading firmware to get dshot1200. Or is dshot600 just as good, is there really any difference ????

My friend, I seldom write. You talked me into this one. I have built many quads (45), but this one has me stumped!! It seems to Bind, -Green light, second battery indicator on TX, voltage shows correctly. No receiver, no modes, no arming. I have tried 2 separate raduios- no luck. The config is X-XFR and serial, sbus. Is this little guy a fly d type setting? I have been on this 4 days, at 73, it is about to drive me nuts!! Any help is appreciated in advance!!
Hello all. Did anyone have a problem with the Rx & FC connection on this quad? (BNF Frsky F4 version) My transmitter (Qx7s) is bound to the Rx (r-xsr), but doesn't seem to be communicating with it or the FC.
@@Mongolist Yes. I can't quite recall what the issue was. I believe it was fixed in BF. The only problem I'm having now is that the tarsier's DVR isn't working. It keeps displaying "no sd card" when I try to record.

Hey buddy, nice review and I am buying one today, wondering though I wanted to run 4S 850 its about 30 grams higher, do you think that would work, I am not as interested in doing acro with the 4s 850 more long duration level cine flight. Or can the 850 pull off some acro to????, please let me know if I am way far out on my idea, even if the 4s 850 cannot do acro well, but give some nice smooth level long duration cine flight that would be great, I can use 650’s and 450’s for acro and stuff. Now if the 850 is just too much for even level flight for cine shots then please let me know the honest truth about that.
I think 850 is fine. A little longer flight. Not as nimble though.
@@dronecamps yup for sure thanks for the quick reply, I am trying to order tonight and wanted to figure out that batteries I was going to get, I am getting about 4 of the 4s 450’s, 650’s and about 2 850’s, I had if figured right than, for sure I expected to lose the nimble factor in the 850’s and that would be the most I would ever expect to fly on this amazing little guy. I think the 650 is the sweet spot giving the best flight and acro, and if you just want to tear it up short term go to the 450. I also have one last question, I have some 3s 650’s will this last work well on 3s, it says it can, but I have some reservations, they even say 4s 450 for indoors, and I wonder why they talk about it using 3s. I was hoping 3s would work well indoors I am a new flyer and still learning quads and stuff, I ham ave experience in planes and heli’s but not so much quads and fpv especially, so 3s if it works would be great, let me know and thanks bunches.

No the Caddx Tarsier produces lots of RF noise which blocks satellite lock.
Have you seen the super long boot time fix on a lot of flight controller. It fixes slow boot on CLF7 and on all GEPRC boards.
I used it on the Cinipro 4K with the F722 Dual ICM20689 board and it took the boot time down from over a minute to a few seconds.
