Very easy to follow, and the explanations make sense, even to a complete rookie like me. Thanks a lot for making this video. I had no local assistance available, so this was truly invaluable.
this is a great video bud, but the main problems that new people are having are the drives . How to install them. I learned the hard way and got lucky but the Ave Joe may screw his computer or install wrong drives. Wish someone would have a dummy proof video on how to install these drives. Betaflight is actually the easiest part , installing drives are probably the hardest task. You have a straight forward approach to teaching and I think every new guy or lady would benefit if you would make this toturial on drives.. Craig

Dude. I was sooo lost until I watched this video and walked to the steps. I did the most stupidest thing; confused the FS button on my GEPRC Mark3 with the actual VTX button & could not bind to my FrSky X Lite Pro. Thought it was broken & bought 2 more Receivers, the Q X7. Its been a week long nightmare. But thanks to you, I'm on track. Just can't figure out how to get the receiver to work with Liftoff.

Wow, this was great. Could you please do one for cleanflight 2.0. I flashed a Naze Rev6 from 1.2.3 to 2.0 and all lost everything. The stock setting look very high for beginners like me. It's OK if you don't, I know you are very busy. I was able to get the leds back working. lol. Thank you for all your time you put into your videos.

Let me begin with, as far as my knowledge of drones and flying and RC's and all that goes with it,.. I have no Idea whatsoever what Im doing, how to do it, or if Im even doing anything! I just liked the thing and one day, after two years of going back and forth over getting this drone or not, I finally stepped up, Soon as I bought it, I immediately hit cancel, but the purchase went through regardless; and because I tried to cancel the order, even though I paid for a 2 day delivery, took a month for the drone to arrive. Finally, on Thursday, last week I got it! I spent that whole day boggled as to why I couldn't get in the air. When my girlfriend suggested that I might have the wings placed incorrectly, I thought she was joking, all the wings looked identical. But after she showed me several videos of my bad wing placement, took her advice and changed my wings, and it flew!. Goggles worked too, I'm on my way! I got the drone in the air, not for very long and not very stable either, so I watched more videos hoping to gain some knowledge. On TH-cam I heard many talking about this CLEAR FLIGHT website and another one BETA FLIGHT. Im interested, I go to the web site plug in my drone and I hit something;... Don't know what and Don't know how, but now the drone won't respond, just incessantly beebs! It doesn't register on my Fs-I6; and on both of those web sites now, it reeds Im Dis Armed! and in a fail safe mode. I have ZERO idea what I did! I called a drone shop, 100 bucks to diagnosis, I just spent $400 getting the drone! I think that kinda bites but I really wanna get back in the air, Can anyone help me out? Again I have the Arris 250 and a FlySky Fsi6 radio, How do I get them to talk again and Yes; I was given a bind unit; but I have no Idea what to insert it in to bind my radio! Thank you for your time, I've been wasting the past 11 of mine trying to get back in the air, with no luck, .UGH!! Thank you in advance!

Nice video for a self-learner like me. Just a question here. I am still very confusing and wonder why Horizon mode is bound to Aux1, while the other modes(Horizon & Air) are controlled by Aux2.....
I have exactly the same question! It is at 17:20 in the video. But when you change the switch, the little indicator bar moves for both Angle (Aux 2) & Horizon (Aux 1) modes??? How is that possible?
Cannot connect to Betaflight even after you loaded the driver onto your mac? It could very well be the USB cable you are using is a power charging ONLY cable. Find one with DATA transfer enabled. It should connect nicely. Most USB cables that came with your Android phone will work because it allows you to connect to your comp. Took me half a day to figure this out. Hope that helps.
Hey love your vids, you helped me out wih my first Betaflight and worked out great. Question, I just purchased a new Aurora 90 but I’m geting a 1 second delay with my sticks on Betaflight and of course in real world when trying to fly. Its impossible as you can imagine . What could be going on? I flashed update and have Frsky qx7 bound to Aurora 90..but never had delay like this...it was like this out of the box...thanks
Hi, thanks for all your wonderful videos. I made the mistake of attempting to use BETAFLIGHT before I watch this one. I was really stupid and selected UART1 trying to get something to work. And of course saved it. Do you have any idea of how I can fix this? I have the same board that you have any use in this video. Any help at all!!!!!!!! Many thanks Tom
Tom, since you did that and saved it and disconnected now the FC doesn't see the USB port. Now you will need to refresh the FC board with a new fresh copy of the firmware. Then the USB will work again. But you will lose all your previous settings etc.
Find the flight controller manual for it online. Then locate the "BOOT" button or solder tabs. If it's a boot button just hold it down when you flash the flight controller in Betaflight. If it's two solder tabs they need a dab of solder to connect the two tabs. Then flash the firmware. Next use a "solder sucker" (found on Amazon.com for $5) and remove the solder. Then you will be able to re-connect to Betaflight.
yes where it says "Firmware Flasher". Click that and select your flight controller firmware type. ( I can't remember which one it is) then you will need to do that process. Theres a few youtube videos on how to do it. This one covers it I believe.
thanks for the video. question: 1. just recently upgraded my FC to SP racing f3 acro 6 dof. but why my drone can not be stable and jump to the left if I give a trottle. if in angle mode my drone can hover but still shift to left slowly, what should i do, should i set PID or something wrong with the motor? 2. if i already messed up PID how to return it? 3. Awesome video! It definitely cleared up some things for me. Although I did build my own hex for aerial photograph, I'm still fairly a noob to fpv racing. I do have one question I hope you can help me with. When I connect to BLHeli (on a Mac, either by using wine or BLHeli configurator) and I select "read setup" and my motors immediately start spinning. Thanks God I had my smoke stopper connected. Any Ideas as to what I've done wrong? -Greg
Thank for the help. Airmode is turned off, and no luck. My ESC protocol to PWM(my ESC support oneshot125 but use PWM b/c I want to flash them) and Disarm motors regardless of throttle value is on.
@Dronecamps I'm a noob setting up a cinelog20 dji rc 2 dji 03 PNP version from Geprc. My motor direction came opposite to this video, do you have any tips?
So I just figured this one out myself. Not all flight controllers have the handy button to press in - they'll have "boot" jumpers on the board you have to connect with a scrap bit of wire (I even saw someone do it with a pair of tweezers). Connecting those jumpers is the same as holding in the button. Hope that makes sense - reply here if not, and I'll do my best to help.
I am having a hard time having my taranis working in betaflight, the copter is binded, have ports set, and when i plug in battery, and go to receiver it either say waiting for data, or i dont see any stick movements on screen, any help out there would be great
I know this is an old video but I just hookes up my mobula7 to beta flight and all of a sudden it starts smoking!!!! Did I get a bad board? I've only flown like 6 times and wanted to change the tuning so I could get better at flying! I am new at the hobby except for a mavic but that's not really for sport! Anyway I am disabled and can't afford to pay out for new escs every 6 flights! Any help or advice if I did something Incorrect that knowledge would be helpful! hey the video was very helpful. i have problem with my drone whenever i move the throttle up the drone stays on the ground and sometimes only two motors spin unless i change the direction.
Hey dude this video is helping a lot with my 1st betaflight set up which is the KingKong90gt with DSM2 receiver and a Spektrum DX6. Everything seems to be set up right but in my modes setup the arm mode doesn't flash from white to yellow. The values and the switch is set up it just won't change to yellow (my flight modes change from white to yellow when I flip the switch though) The motors do respond when I turn them on in the motors tab I just can't get the quad to acknowledge the arm switch. If you have any troubleshooting ideas it would be much appreciated. Also the battery voltage doesn't display in the info box at the top of the screen but the quad does turn on from the battery.
Love the channel man! Hoping for advice, finished my first build with New Rxsr frsky receiver. It's bound to Taranis the light is green but I can't get it to work. On beta flight nothing moves. I tried every single uart port since I'm not sure which one and made sure is sbus in the configuration tab. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!
1: does setting up the arm and disarm apply same for the Flysky I6 with the eachine wizard 220 2: is the eachine wizard completely ready to fly out of the box.(besides charging the battery)
I have a egg 130 on beta flight 3.2.1 and on the first flight it was ok but I did notice that the number one motor was a little behind motors 2,3, and 4 so I connected it to beta flight and looked at the motor tab and looked ok so now it will not arm and all looks good in B.F. in the mode tab the arming switch moves from the left to the right and the hash mark goes where it should be at, any help would be greatly appreciated ,I would like to fly this before the rain comes here in California so thanks for your time.Love your vids
I have a spektrum dxe transmitter and an ft gremlin. All of the switches are in the wrong place and positions. I now understand how to fix that. The gimbals are also backwards, how do you reverse those in beta flight? That is something that didn't seem to be covered in the video.
I think you reverse the gimbals in the transmitter. That is where I did it on my FrSkyTaranis X9D Plus. However, I have no experience with Spektrum Radios - just so you know.

While checking your stick inputs, it shows the channel map to be AETR1234. I thought FrSky was supposed to be TAER1234? I'm wondering if that is my problem with my stick inputs set to TAER1234? Going crazy trying to get set up with my new Lizard95! Please help! I'm totally new to Betaflight.

It is a brand-new RTF that is called the 90 GT from King Kong

Turn off AIRMODE. Then turn OFF motor stop.

I turned off motor stop, but motors still spin when I attempt to read the esc from blheli
Make sure AirMode is turned off.

I am so lost right now cant you tell Im new at this :-) ..What if you don't have a boot button or you just want to fly a little whoop class
So I just figured this one out myself. Not all flight controllers have the handy button to press in - they'll have "boot" jumpers on the board you have to connect with a scrap bit of wire (I even saw someone do it with a pair of tweezers). Connecting those jumpers is the same as holding in the button. Hope that makes sense - reply here if not, and I'll do my best to help.
I am having a hard time having my taranis working in betaflight, the copter is binded, have ports set, and when i plug in battery, and go to receiver it either say waiting for data, or i dont see any stick movements on screen, any help out there would be great
I know this is an old video but I just hookes up my mobula7 to beta flight and all of a sudden it starts smoking!!!! Did I get a bad board? I've only flown like 6 times and wanted to change the tuning so I could get better at flying! I am new at the hobby except for a mavic but that's not really for sport! Anyway I am disabled and can't afford to pay out for new escs every 6 flights! Any help or advice if I did something Incorrect that knowledge would be helpful! hey the video was very helpful. i have problem with my drone whenever i move the throttle up the drone stays on the ground and sometimes only two motors spin unless i change the direction.
Do you need to do this if you have dji system?

Hey dude this video is helping a lot with my 1st betaflight set up which is the KingKong90gt with DSM2 receiver and a Spektrum DX6. Everything seems to be set up right but in my modes setup the arm mode doesn't flash from white to yellow. The values and the switch is set up it just won't change to yellow (my flight modes change from white to yellow when I flip the switch though) The motors do respond when I turn them on in the motors tab I just can't get the quad to acknowledge the arm switch. If you have any troubleshooting ideas it would be much appreciated. Also the battery voltage doesn't display in the info box at the top of the screen but the quad does turn on from the battery.
Love the channel man! Hoping for advice, finished my first build with New Rxsr frsky receiver. It's bound to Taranis the light is green but I can't get it to work. On beta flight nothing moves. I tried every single uart port since I'm not sure which one and made sure is sbus in the configuration tab. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance!

1: does setting up the arm and disarm apply same for the Flysky I6 with the eachine wizard 220
2: is the eachine wizard completely ready to fly out of the box.(besides charging the battery)
I have a egg 130 on beta flight 3.2.1 and on the first flight it was ok but I did notice that the number one motor was a little behind motors 2,3, and 4 so I connected it to beta flight and looked at the motor tab and looked ok so now it will not arm and all looks good in B.F. in the mode tab the arming switch moves from the left to the right and the hash mark goes where it should be at, any help would be greatly appreciated ,I would like to fly this before the rain comes here in California so thanks for your time.Love your vids
I have a spektrum dxe transmitter and an ft gremlin. All of the switches are in the wrong place and positions. I now understand how to fix that. The gimbals are also backwards, how do you reverse those in beta flight? That is something that didn't seem to be covered in the video.
I think you reverse the gimbals in the transmitter. That is where I did it on my FrSkyTaranis X9D Plus. However, I have no experience with Spektrum Radios - just so you know.

While checking your stick inputs, it shows the channel map to be AETR1234. I thought FrSky was supposed to be TAER1234? I'm wondering if that is my problem with my stick inputs set to TAER1234? Going crazy trying to get set up with my new Lizard95! Please help! I'm totally new to Betaflight.
