If I was your dad, I could easily forgive the brake fluid on the drive way, but I would kick your ass all around the house for tearing up my lawn...........LOL
Greg Green Brake fluid is water soluble, no harm to the driveway.... Ya maybe no one should worry about anything, Just let kids do whatever they please.....After all it is easier that way right ?
***** I take personal responsibility very seriously. I just choose to worry about things that are important. The grass grow by itself and the rain cleans the driveway. There are way too many more important things to worry about to be concerned over those things that aren't.
Well I'm not the first one to say but also really lookin forward to the shifterstick ;p the clutch is still a little rough in first gear, maby you can try to lubricate the belt a little so it can slip a little longer and it won't be so rough :)
***** Well, with those weird shaft spline sizes, you could easily buy alot of wrong sized shifters. I decided to take the shafts to the yard and fit them up myself :)
Alright, if I will not weld the brake caliper onto the kart, then I need to shape a piece of steel and bolt it as a piece connecting the kart and caliper, right? I have a 64 bug sprint and it has no trace of any brake weld on the rear side.
its just because the belt is new and the pulleys are also relatively new, they havent glazed over much at all. so that means not much slip haha. that clutch went from one extreme to the other lol.
and i am also going to do a little transmission prep just like i prepped the engine. that brake thing is going to come off as well as the reverse mechanism inside the trans. from what i understand the reversing chain does not last long when over-sped like it will be here so
bignickthegreat, Looks good, I'm looking forward to seeing what U do with the shifter linkage as I have all the parts to build one, just been wondering how well it would actually shift. Thanks for posting!
Hey if you don't mine answering where are you from? Also she is looking amazing! Great amount of power! Also for a shifter are you going to have a cable going to it? Or maybe a linkage with a bar that sticks out between your legs so when you pull it you shift up? Like a L shape know what u mean?
Good job I know you get alot of torque with that transmission, but if you put on a torque converter with that engine you would plenty of torque, and speed.im talkin 45or50 mph!.it would haul ass!
paint it, drive it for a while, then probably sell it. it's cool to have, but i get way more thrill from building than driving. this kart takes up a lot of space, and whatever $ i get from it will go into whatever project is next!!
***** I've never used the mechanical brakes, but people say they work pretty good. In some cases they might be easier to install. That being said, last time i built a go cart I bought hydraulic.
Honestly, that is the most horrendous looking set up I think I've ever seen 😂 But hey you did it yourself and it works right so good job on you 👍🏻 Running one brake line will work and look much much better but you got the idea.
lol it's my grandma's i borrowed it for the past week cuz that peice of junk vw breaks down like clockwork. it's a damn nice car though. wish it was mine sometimes
the bleeder screw needs to be on top when mounted, it needs to be the high point so the air can come out!
Nice little kart, I like it. Has a lot of character.
If I was your dad, I could easily forgive the brake fluid on the drive way, but I would kick your ass all around the house for tearing up my lawn...........LOL
Hahaha i have had a fair bit of extra yard work to do this summer, wonder why?
***** LOL....
Yea, but the lawn fixes itself and the driveway doesn't. I wouldn't worry about the lawn. Then again, I wouldn't worry about the driveway either.

Can't wait to see how the shifter turns out I didn't expect it to go that fast with a lawnmower transmission
hahaha, it's all about gearing my friend- and hopefully soon ill get to the shifter
Who here during the quarantine
Just gotta say, golf cart tires look perfect on adult go carts. Cool!
Greg Green hell yeah!
y r u use arc welled for cheese
I have a corded drill just like that one on the seat! Early 80s vintage? Has a little wheel for speed. Still use it now and again!
Andrew Field old tools are the best tools!
you really need to build a shifter and some linkage for your transmission...
Tim Kepler

lol yeah that stupid clutch went from one extreme to the other! and stay tuned for the shifter!
What the hell is that contraption!! Lmao 😂😂😂
Just the transmission shifter next. Lookin good
everyone seems anxious to see the shifter haha
ya lol looks like itll have to be some sort of a rocker arm
My only question is my brakes are too tight after I replaced the caliper and padsi don't know how to fix it
in the video i thought the brakes would be a pedal and nice work bro loving it
i wanted to make a pedal, just wasnt enough room to make it practical, and thanks!
ok and your welcome
i would like to use on bricks cart
That was great now I really want to make one
haha i appreciate that, but be careful what you wish for- building this was a friggin handful lol
Good work man
Nice job !!! My mini bike shifter & kick starter came from a motorcycle salvage yard.
There ya go! ebay doesn't have as good deals as what the salvage yards do

haha that too ^^

And the right side of the transmission that lever was the brake for the lawnmower if you take it off it might not jerk as much
its just because the belt is new and the pulleys are also relatively new, they havent glazed over much at all. so that means not much slip haha. that clutch went from one extreme to the other lol.

Is there any way to make a pedal break with this?
Just bought my first Go Kart, it has p b disk brakes & needs pads. Where can l find them ???

Thanks! I have a couple harebrained ideas up my sleeve so we will see
bignickthegreat, I love harebrained ideas! Looking forward!
brother will you tell your engine specifications...?
But still very cool and thanks for the vid man helps a lot

i live in pennsylvania- pittsburgh area. thanks man!!
hehehehe... just you wait and see- you are either gonna think im nuts or a genius
Haha! Can't wait too see this. Lol
Cool stuff man :) well done
Thanks!

What do you plan on doing with the kart after it's all built
paint it, drive it for a while, then probably sell it. it's cool to have, but i get way more thrill from building than driving. this kart takes up a lot of space, and whatever $ i get from it will go into whatever project is next!!
Sir your break system ???
what was that connecting two pipes or hoses together ... i need that what is that actually
hello hope ya replying me ASAP please
nope
Hate to say, but you could have bought a complete mechanical brake system for your kart for like $45.00...
mechanical vs hydraulic..... im sorry but in my book mechanical brakes just don't compare to hydraulic! definitely worth 15 extra dollars!!

The caliper is upside down.
What kind of tires are those n where did u get them
its your boi savage these are golf cart tires that I pillaged from an old electric club car
When's the next upload Nick?
unfortunately i am going to be on a trip this weekend which is when i do most of my work on this. so not until the following week. soooorrrryy
and i can see the snow melting in the background too :)
finally lol this winter was brutal
Where did you order your axle and other parts from?
combination of ebay, local parts yards, and whatever the neighbors were throwing away hahaha
for future reference brake fluid brakes down in water just spray the mess away.
excellent! excellent!
can you link the brake pls
PlayCreed you mean the website I️ bought it from? That thing is from a junkyard haha
okey XD
Honestly, that is the most horrendous looking set up I think I've ever seen 😂 But hey you did it yourself and it works right so good job on you 👍🏻 Running one brake line will work and look much much better but you got the idea.
Your lack of an electric angel grinder stresses me out. I got a throw away one for 40$ it's lasted 6 years of abuse. So much faster than pneumatic
What kind of go kart is that
It looks nothing like a go kart
gaming boy it’s called imagination
Please say your putting a better way to change gear surly its no good having the lean over to the gearbox every time
yes haha plans for a shifting mechanism are on the way
Awesome:)!
why do you keep trying to mount stuff to your handlebars? make a foot break...
whow whats it like going 3mph get on a rotax 125cc and try 90mph lol
I wouldn’t want to go much faster on that death trap anyhow lol
I wanna see that baby hit 88 mph!!! lol
Thats such a crusty kart😂😂😂
Like your mom XD
Hi big nick the great
you should take a welding class. those welds are narly looking
What are you guys like 12?
Nice aura...i have one
lol it's my grandma's i borrowed it for the past week cuz that peice of junk vw breaks down like clockwork. it's a damn nice car though. wish it was mine sometimes
ya...
Wow this is the slowest go kart on TH-cam
He only had it in 1 and 2 gear so he still has 3 4and 5
Bem feito ets

Make it faster
