Wil Wheaton has said that he rolls sp many nat 1's that somewhere out on the universe someone must regularly roll nat 20's in order to balance probability. I think we just found that person.

@@joonapukarinen1153 they do. watch cr campaign 1 lol; he has some clutch nat20s in c2, but in c1 he was getting them so frequently it was genuinely suspicious.
@@o.steinman3855 believe it or not, Liam rolled the most nat20's in C1 (assassin rogue with a lot of attacks at advantage and 4 luck points, so he rolled almost twice as much as anyone else), but just like Ally, Taliesin had huge story rolls frequently, and had multiples in some really hype episode. It wasn't that rare for him to get 3 in a session, so it stook in everyone's minds. That being said, Travis technically rolled 3 in a roll. He had 2 back to back as the last rolls in the search for grog one shot and another as the very first roll of C3.

My favorite part about the Unsleeping City 2’s Bend Luck was the comment in the Adventuring Party that only Ally could roll a nat 20 on a d4.
They once rolled a Nat 20 on a D4... They are quite literally the most interesting person in the world. 'I don't always roll well, but when I do, I kill the game.'

@@pretentiousname01 yeah I might be remembering wrong, but with a few exceptions most of Tal's nat 20's were combat based. Which is fun, of course, and he's definitely some kind of eldritch being i wouldn't wanna fuck with, but he never really managed to break the campaign like Ally did

That final d4, is incredible, for so many reasons
1. As Siobhan says, the poetic nature of Kingston and Pete, the two Voxes, working together to make this happen
2. Brennan specifically calling to Ally/Pete, partially since they were the one with Bend Luck, but also probably because he knew if anyone could do it, it was them
3. Divine intervention, especially below Level 15 or so, is so incredibly low odds. For there to even be a CHANCE for bend luck to do anything, they had to get a 16% chance on Lou’s roll, and even then, with a 15, it was still a coin flip if they could do it, and they pulled it off, and it basically won the entire campaign
And Lou also says a bit later that he had rolled like 20 something times trying to get that divine intervention
@@daniellins4114 Oh, yeah, if I remember correctly, he tried to get that DI every day for an in-game month, and never managed it once. It’s that hard to get.
I love the final clip because it shows Brennan isn't an "evil" DM like sometimes he can be shown to be, he genuinely loves to see players succeed (maybe loves it too much lol)
Oh he for sure is a fucking evil DM, however he's also a fucking amazing one, he just knows when to allow the things to happen, specially if the die allowed it
he's a storyteller, and the two voxes working together and creating a miracle was the absolute perfect way to end TUC

Murph is the master of "rolling the worst possible roll whatever the situation", because he doesn't systematically roll low, he rolls BAD.
If they WANT a low roll, Murph rolls high.
Would LOVE to see Ally's nat 20's (especially their new ones from the new season) in chronological order as Brennan slowly loses his mind more over this.
I think the best part is a little bit later when hes literally no longer phased in any way but then breaks composure when the 20 destroys his encounter

I love that nat 4 so much, because it's such a beautiful culmination of Pete and Kingston's relationship; and with that a perfect symbol of the themes of the setting in general.
Kingston has been trying for 2 weeks to solve this problem with his pragmatic magic alone, and it never work. Then here at the final hour, with everything riding on it, all the power of the city still wasn't enough. But one little dream, just the tiniest hope that the impossible could be possible, brought it over the edge into a miracle.

via my dip into neopaganism i learned that non-binary ppl are thought to be looked after by Ishtar, ancient mesopotamian goddess of justice, war, and sex. It is said that Ishtar could change a person’s gender/sex; she does so in several myths and poems. according to historical records, members of her cult often played with androgyny, gender roles, and the gender binary itself. in modern neopaganism, some consider Ishtar to be a patron of trans and non binary ppl. ally fits right in here as well regarding Ishtar’s domain over justice (and by extension, pivotal dice rolls in dungeons & dragons lol)

My favorite thing is Brennan getting SO excited for Ally getting the clutch 4 on the bend luck, he wants them to succeed as much as he messes with them
That last roll for divine intervention was so fucking clutch too. I think they would have won the fight but would have had casualties. Brennan gave them damage reduction for like every kind of damage and I think buffed all their attacks or something. It was so good and he even said despite it being so strong it HAD to be for how crazy a roll that was.

Truly the beauty of the d4 at the end. For pete who at the beginning was so messed up and needed the most help to kingston who was the man that helped everyone and didnt need it, in turn at the very end where Kingston is the one asking for divine intervention and Pete who has been able to grow into his own person with the help of kingston, is able to help make divine intervention happen. It's absolutely fucking crazy and beautiful.
The more D20 I watch, the more convinced I become that Ally is a real life Wild Magic Sorcerer who uses their power to torment Brennan and Pete was just them showing their hand a little bit.
It's so rare seeing Brennan truly caught off guard, the expression on his face is always just priceless.

I’m starting to notice a pattern. Whenever they get a natural 20, it’s always the camouflage shirt. Ally bearsdly has always been naturally lucky, but the shirt reinforces said luck 100 fold.

At this point i think the only reasons Brennan still lets Ally roll shit that starts with "Can I do X if I get a nat 20?" is because he knows if he did tell Ally not to roll, the players would mutiny and Ally would roll a 20 anyways.
I've played with players who roll like this and my one question is how? I don't think I ever roll more than a 10 on a good day.
