Hey Rusty, which part of the country do you call home? You have a distinctive accent, regarding Julian Sands, do you think you will be following up on the case down the line?
There is nothing mysterious about Sands' disappearance, or many others. As the newscaster mentioned, he went hiking in a dangerous place under difficult conditions. Several others also got lost and died.
Been awhile! So glad u put vid out today! Haven't heard much about sands since few weeks after it happened. I thought something, clothing, tent, bottles/camp dishes etc wld b found by now. It's a weird case. Literally like he was just there, then disappeared. I guess we will not know until something is found. So sorry for the families/freinds of any of these odd ,strange. Disappearances.
It seems he went on a day hike. The terrain around Mt. San Antonio/Mt Baldy can be treacherous, and there are plenty of ravines to slide into. Down the mountain, we all knew the storms were coming. It seems he may have wanted to get his hike in before they did.
With the amount of snow this year finding anybody who has been missing will have to wait until it all has melted. Bless those who are missing and family and friends that are hurting! RIP 🙏
It has been melting, though fairly slowly. The temperatures have been cool this winter and there have been several rainstorms since the storms that set in during the weeks after the search started. We did a short hike from Baldy Village in November: The temperature dropped significantly in the afternoon and there were patches of snow on the ground. From then, it only got colder and wetter (rain).
Some of the terrain there looks very crumbly and slippy. I think he lost his footing and tumbled down somewhere. Hopefully his family and friends will have some sort of closure very soon. I read Stephen King's book Misery, a great read!. Thanks Rusty, great work as always.
I thought he'd be found, perhaps injured, within a week, but when that time passed, I figured he probably wouldn't be found alive. The weather was just too bad, and he didn't have supplies or food for a prolonged hike. Damn...😢
Them storms were terrible up there that year. Just over and over, the storms howled and blew ! They just would not Stop hardly ! 😔💔 People should have never went up there... and NEVER ALONE ! Even in good summer weather let alone winter weather . Please...never hike alone . It just helps cut the risk of outcomes being tragedies .💔😔
Lol MsMeg! I love a good winter hike but I keep ‘em short, sweet, and level!! This business of climbing harsh mountains well known for extreme weather…. Yeah not so much.
There can only be 4 possibility in any disappearance. 1, accident 2 foul ay 3 predator attack 4 by theory own hand, be it death or buggering off. No aliens, no bigfoot, no paranormal activity of any sort because none of that shit is real.
Every hiker who doesn’t come back is a loss & a horrible heartbreak for some family & friends somewhere...I cannot imagine the state of trauma & the lack of closure for a family who may never be able to give their loved one a proper farewell & burial. May they rest in eternal peace wherever they may be.

I think Julian will be found when the snow melts, and there's more traffic on Mt Baldy. Anytime that "Devil's" or "Hell's" is in the name of a place, it's there for good reason.
I'm so surprised he didn't has a GPS location device. The only reason I don't is because a good one is hundreds or thousands of dollars but he could totally afford it!. Sad, he seems like a good guy.
Welcome back, once again. I always look for your videos. 👍 the disappearances continue and I think it will continue as long as people go hiking solo! I love these study cases video, I finding them excellent and very much interesting. Too sad that Mr. Julian Sands wasn’t found. I wonder what happened and what was on his mind. Very intriguing case. Tragic as well.
I frequent Baldy often in Winter to prep for bigger climbs up North in the Sierras, my 2 cents is he might have traversed into the more treacherous Northern face of the mountain. Weather conditions were very inclement on the day he set out and, perhaps through error or unfamiliarity or poor visibility or all the above, became disoriented and wandered off in the wrong direction when he reached the peak or neared it. The Northern side of Baldy has some very steep drops and avalanches are not unheard of in the area, especially now more than ever with the monster of a Winter we had this year. The snow pack was immense this year. I take Mr. Sands may have fallen to his death and remains have been obscured by the following days of snowstorms or walked into avalanche territory. It would certainly explain why S&R failed to turn anything up in all these months. There's nothing at all surprising about this disappearance, I'm certain Mr. Sands remains should turn up around Summer time. As you already covered extensively before, we gets deaths on Baldy every years from misadventurers, typically amateurs. Although besides being a Celeb, Mr. Sands was accomplished mountaineer which gave me a little more hope about his chances of survival. That's out of the question now obviously.
🤔🤔Hey rusty I can't believe actor julian sands still hasn't been found or recovered yet but I still hold out hope that he's probably injured or simply became lost while hiking in the area or there's a possibility that he is not going to be found his family and friends deserve some answers and closure for their missing love one my prayers 🙏😢 julian will be found very very soon😢
Ive lived near the woods in Pennsylvania all my life. And have spent a lot of time outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking, etc. Ive listened to many of these missing persons cases. Just last weekend i went on a solo hike and found out just how quick things can go wrong. I reached for a small tree as a handhold, missed the tree, and flew headfirst down a steep rocky hillside. I lost my glasses during the fall. And even though i knew the area very well had a helluva time finding my way out. I was very lucky i didn't break my neck! And only sufferd a deep cut on my elbow and other minor scrapes. It happened fast and in seconds i went from being in control,to being in a potentially bad situation.

He knew it was dangerous to climb that mountain in January. He new about the weather, and yet he decided to go climbing. It seemed Julian had a death wish. Very sad, Rest in Peace
Animal predation is messy. Unlike humans, animals make no effort in hiding what they did. If they were using dogs, they would have picked up on this easily. The pictures of the area you showed indicated large areas of loose gravel like material on the mountain. It would be possible for someone to fall into one of those ravines and in a avalanche including that material to disappear under it. I think in some of these mountainous areas, there had been prospecting for and extraction of minerals through mines. Many of these old mines have air shafts, cave-ins and shafts created by erosion into them. I'm not sure all of these mines are known and even if a mine is known, once the main opening is closed, other openings that I mentioned before might exist or appear over time. Someone could fall through one of these and disappear, and the opening wouldn't be obvious or close up again.
Thank you Rusty The one thing that bothers me is Why people take such dangerous Places to hike Without a location Baecon I can except wanting to be on your own ,But I just dont understand people Not taking precautions especially out in the wilderness areas . There is another case that you spoke about that's of Serinnity little Giles who vanished who left the childrens home Which very sadly was the last anyone ever saw of her ,So Heart breaking ❤ My thoughts go out to all the families of missing souls . Please take location Beacon with you out hiking camping Yvonne mullion Cornwall England

Back in the 90s a few of us hiked to the base of a 300 foot dry falls in the Huachuca Mountains of southern Arizona. After just a few minutes right in front of us noises, sounding like a very loud "crack", was created by a large rocks hitting the limestone creek bed and shattering. I looked up and saw a bowling ball sized rock coming right towards me. It hit just a couple feet from where I was standing. The shrapnel knocked me off my feet and my knee and I busted from the fall. It was obvious that some derelicts were throwing rocks down the falls. We yelled and things got real quiet. I limped back to the trailhead with my bloody knee. I'm fine, thanks. The point, of course, is Don't throw rocks down a ledge when you don't know what's at the bottom. It could have been a lot worse.
I’ve climbed several 14r mountains in Colorado . I did a peak solo … man I probably won’t ever do that again . I got a bit over confident and did a little off trail free climbing (nothing insane but some good height ) and when I came back down it’s like … it’s like I was teleported to a different location . I know I know .. sounds unrealistic . But I swear I climbed up and I climbed down and it seemed like it was a complete different place . The trail was no where in sight and I was still close to the peak .I wondered around for a while and the reality of the situation hit em . If I didn’t find the trail again I’d be in BIG trouble as it was getting on in the day . I finally stumbled back to the trail and got outta there alive . But man , sometimes I feel like the mountains move around and can sense when you’re alone or in small groups . The mountain felt like it was trapping me but showed me mercy because it’s not like I saw the trail and walked towards it . I was just walking , looked around and I was on the trail. Thank you God
@irvv your episode is bizarre and scary. I've heard other stories like yours. It's definitely real. I'm glad you made it back safely, but not because of anything you did. It's seems like something decided to release you. Please stay safe, no more solos.

Odd thing; on the new 'Naked Lunch' Blu Ray commentary by David Cronenberg, he mentions all the lead actors except Julian. When he first appears onscreen, he goes silent, then resumes his commentary shortly after. During Julian's last scene, Cronenberg goes silent. Permanently. The commentary just stops. Very odd.
You would think that with all the stories about missing hikers that NOBODY would go hiking alone or without an emergency beacon. It seems like a no-brainer to me!
Thanks, Rusty, for going into this case so thoroughly. I especially like all of the scenarios, despite how farfetched some may be. I grew up in the mountains of Oregon, so I know how easily it is to get turned around and simply disappear; my cousin was one of the Boy Scouts that fell on Mt. Theilson in 1967. 😢 I hope he has a better outcome, but I don't think that'll be the case after this length of time. My heart goes out to his wife.
I am also a Yorkshire lady coming from 13 miles away from his place of birth. I feel we have lost him to the weather and maybe a fall on the slopes of Mt Baldy so feeling that I send my love and best wishes to his family in Gargrave I myself am a Giggleswick girl feeling sad at the loss of this great actor..RIP😮💨😮💨😥😥
If you're referring to Julian Sands, he was apparently very familiar with Mt. Baldy and hiked there frequently. He was also a very experienced outdoorsman, from what I've read. Sometimes, accidents happen, no matter your experience or fitness level.
On jest szczęśliwy w zaświatach.
There is an ongoing odd missing person case here in Japan where a US woman Patricia Wu-Murad, who is an experienced hiker just like Mr. Sand, vanished from a relatively easy hiking trail. Unlike most cases in Japan, this case actually made international headlines so I recommend you checking it out.
Well that covers everything, in fact you've overstated the obvious, the first 6 months plus have passed, no Julian, therefore the ONLY CHOICES ARE, a long span of time will pass, his remains will be found OR, drum roll please, he'll never be found, uhhh duh, hello!? So stupid
Anyone embarking on a risky outing like this one should have a satellite / GPS communications device. There are several good options. A little pricey, but an ESSENTIAL safety item. A severely sprained ankle could be enough to turn a risky outing into a very tragic one and being able to call for help with location could dramatically increase the chances of survival when a situation turns from bad to worse.
I loved this video. We’ll all are loved. Rusty your writing is heart felt and researched and your delivery interesting, suspenseful and full of facts we need to know! Yes hope the days unfold some answers about Julian and people take your words of heed❤
Sometimes I cannot come here for a while because it just makes me so upset & sad & I cry with sadness to think of someone happily taking off on a hike for the day only never to be seen or heard from again.
Realistically he may never be found. Reports are that the area where his phone had sent out its last ping is very avalanche prone. Add to that the record snowfall and patterns of snow then thawing has created deep ice. It’s quite possible that his body may be encased in solid ice. Short of a complete thaw, it will be difficult to find his body.
I’ve hiked mt baldy in snow, rain and extreme hot conditions. I went to mt baldy about two months ago with snowy conditions and it was extremely cold with winds packing the snow onto the trail making it super hard to keep track. I had to cut the trip short after noticing I didn’t see anybody coming back down or down. I’m a avid hiker but that time was pretty intense I’d have to say.
As long as Julian remains missing and his body is not found I shall console myself that he's simply done what only the Warlock could do...jump forward in time a few hundred years! ❤
I'm from this area and have done baldy in every type of condition as well as all the other surrounding peaks this was one of the most brutal winters we've had in 20 years with the absolute worst alpine conditions we've already lost quite a few in the hiking community he's gone and once all the snow melts they will find him unfortunately.

Beautiful man. So sad 😢
Some of the terrain there looks very crumbly and slippy. I think he lost his footing and tumbled down somewhere. Hopefully his family and friends will have some sort of closure very soon. I read Stephen King's book Misery, a great read!. Thanks Rusty, great work as always.
I like your narration style and your retro sounding voice. Very reminiscent of something you would have heard 50 years or more ago. Don't change .
Thanks for posting, Rusty 🌿
& ''Hello folks!..."
Is it just me or does the idea of a winter hike seem like the opposite of a good time?
Lol MsMeg! I love a good winter hike but I keep ‘em short, sweet, and level!! This business of climbing harsh mountains well known for extreme weather…. Yeah not so much.
I'll take the beach.
Julian was an avid hiker and friends said he would have died doing what he loved. I pray for a miracle. I thought he was very handsome.
Yes Me too Ma'am , and his voice was dreamy . May he RIP . 💔😔
Went up to Baldy the same week, cars everywhere, snow everywhere, couldn’t even get up.
Record snow fall in California; he's buried or slid into a crevasse.
Welcome back Rusty!
This is a mystery as to his disappearance. It is always a pleasure hearing from you Rusty. Much thanks. from western Colorado.
Rustyyyyy! Thanks for the vid 😮
New Rusty video!!! Yes!!
I love Julian Sands. This is so sad,
I can't believe they haven't found him yet. I enjoyed every movie he took part in, from Room With A View to Warlock and even Rose Red. I fear he has passed away. I hope for his families sake they find his remains.
😔 yes, he has more than likely...passed away 😔 I personally loved his movies. My 2 favorite of his are also some of his strangest films .
"Naked lunch" , is one and "Boxing Helena" the other. It's so sad about all this and I hope his family is okay .😔
RIP Sweet Souls, all who are missing and have passed on. 💔😔
@@cowboykelly6590 Boxing Helena was such an interesting movie! I always partnered it with Fatal Attraction as a stalker movie, but this was more psychologically disturbing. I had forgotten about Naked Lunch. I'll have to watch them again.
I always liked 'Tale Of A Vampire' from 1992. Julian was such a distinctive actor.
I'm absolutely heartbroken 💔 such a beautiful soul Julian...sad to say that I'm sure he's gone ..I truly hope they recover his remains so his family can have some closure...my heart goes out to them...
Jillian is a females name, a man from England is missing, his name is Julian Sands
@@bethewalt7385 yeah I know....ya troll lol
@jeepwj and you are a kind soul. I'm happy to hear Julian's remains were found.
@@terrycanales23 I am too...I'm happy his family can finally get closure...
I think Julian will be found when the snow melts, and there's more traffic on Mt Baldy.
Anytime that "Devil's" or "Hell's" is in the name of a place, it's there for good reason.
Thanks Rusty! your the best!
Hey Thanks always great video enjoy the information you provide. until the next one thanks
I'm so surprised he didn't has a GPS location device. The only reason I don't is because a good one is hundreds or thousands of dollars but he could totally afford it!. Sad, he seems like a good guy.
I didn’t realise a GPS was so expensive but I’m surprised you can’t hire one, after all it could save your life and what’s more important.
You can rent one for the weekend, very affordable, an adequate emergency beacon is 200-400 dollars
He was 65.
That's very old for extreme winter wildernessing.
Julian, you were a legend. Godspeed. My favorite movie with him (albeit a bit part) Oxford Blues.😢
I feel he has passed away by now. It's been 3 months now. It's sad when people go missing I hope they find his body for the families sake
Yes Ma'am.. 💔😔 RIP 😔💔
Gonna throw another log on that fire,'cause it's story tellen' time ❤
me 2 she's lookin a little low!
Awesome! Another super cool video from sir west! 😊. Thank you sir! Hugs

Hope your doing well Rusty .
Man I sure hope his family gets the closure they deserve!
Hi rusty :) love your voice
Thank you soooo much for the postcard 💜
Hi Rusty! Sure have missed you. Love your voice! Your channel is the Bomb!
I loved the warlock movies when I was younger. Haven’t seen them in years. Hope they find him 🙏🏻
He knew it was dangerous to climb that mountain in January. He new about the weather, and yet he decided to go climbing. It seemed Julian had a death wish. Very sad, Rest in Peace
How do you know he knew the weather was going to get bad
How do we know his going out there was his own choice ? Look up Gematria Affect News. It's all scripted .....Murder by Numbers .... with the elite.
Very sad Thanks for a great video Rusty!
Your the best rusty wish we could have more content but I appreciate you are a busy man!peace brother✌️
Thank you Rusty The one thing that bothers me is Why people take such dangerous Places to hike Without a location Baecon I can except wanting to be on your own ,But I just dont understand people Not taking precautions especially out in the wilderness areas .
There is another case that you spoke about that's of Serinnity little Giles who vanished who left the childrens home Which very sadly was the last anyone ever saw of her ,So Heart breaking ❤
My thoughts go out to all the families of missing souls .
Please take location Beacon with you out hiking camping

Your Advice is truly the right thing to do Ma'am . All disappearances are so very heartbreaking . RIP Sweet Souls . 😔💔
P.S. I think also , these kind of disappearances would go down drastically if people would not go Hiking Alone. 💔
Take someone with you.
Hi Rusty watint patienly for your videos God bless you and all your lobe ones. Grandmomm from virginia
Thanks Rusty, always good stuff here.
Well you will always have stupid, seems like some people are just getting dumber, glad you were ok
@@terrycanales23 this comment gave me chills . I seem to get out of sticky situations with no decision of my own . It’s making a religious man out of me , or atleast a skeptic of this thing we call humanity . Thank you for your advice. It will be followed throughly .
Very odd.
dont go hiking alone people
So sad, do not hike alone!
I remember David Paulides mentioning to be wary of any hike or trail called the 'Devils.....'
You would think that with all the stories about missing hikers that NOBODY would go hiking alone or without an emergency beacon.
It seems like a no-brainer to me!
🤠🤙
Thank you Rusty ~ great coverage.
Prayers for Julian, and his family.
❤🙏
Why don’t they (whoever they are) close the most dangerous trails in winter Or make a qualifying Baldy safety course before hand.
Amen 💔😔
Totally agree 🙏🙏🙏
He could be on the side of a trail....30 feet below where the searchers are above him.
Holy cow I was not paying attention. Had no idea beautiful Julian Sands had gone missing. 💔
I have a feeling if he is found, it will be within the span of a long time. Or, he won't be be found at all. May he Rest in Peace
Well written and spoken! Keep wells❤ Rusty
Thank you for this!
Im sorry for all the people that disappeared on the mountain, what a shame they never came home.
They were doing what they loved.
He must not have watched your videos Rusty because, he would have known rule #1. NEVER GO HIKING ALONE!
Hey, Rusty! ❤ 🫂
We miss you, Rusty!!!!!
Mt Baldy….way to much snow still up there….they won’t find his body until summer probably.
Can't believe they haven't found julian sands yet,unbelievable...
Holy Shit!! I had no idea that had happened to him!! A tragic loss as he was a fantastic actor and undoubtedly truly loved by all!!😔😔😔😔😔
