Nice theory, I'd add the inhuman genes in the mix. Like, the Kree tried to create living weapons (as in the comics) who could hold the stone's power in them.

Ryan, you know that this is not going to be accurate. You took the plot of the Inhumans in the comics and applied a loose version to the mutants. Not a bad fanfic, but we know this isnt what Marvel Studios is going to use to explain mutants. There are already mutants in the MCU that are not created from Infinity Stones, like Bear and the guy that cant die from She-Hulk (I apologize that I cant remember random tertiary characters names). Also your theory mentions but ignores the fact that Kamala and Wanda had a mutation before the infinity stones. Fans hyping up possibilities are why everyone gets so disappointed. I think it will be a few years still from Spider-Man eating pizza with Nightcrawler or Wolverine sitting with Cap.

I think the simple explanation of mutants in the MCU is found on the X-Men show.
first Episode Beast tells Rogue that mutation can happen by exposure to high levels of radiation.
The Infinity Stones give off high levels of Radiation. We know the Space stone at least gives off Gamma energy which ties into the destruction of the Shield base in Avengers. Bruce only has Gamma blood because his blood cells are more immune to the Gamma energy (Jen too because of heritage). Anyone can have stronger genes than most which gives ride to cosmic radiation and unlocked latent mutant abilities.

They really should have made that guy a different character. Red Skull was thought to be dead, Hugo Weaving refused to return so they had to get a new actor in the role, none of the characters who came for the Soul Stone knew who Red Skull was, and when Captain America, the only person alive who knew Schmit went to return the stones, the scenes of how he returned the stones were skipped over, and when he returned to the present as an old man, he didn't say anything about the stones or Red Skull. I was always kinda thinking that maybe some mutants have always been around (Prof X, Magneto, Wolverine) but there were very very few. The X-Gene was pretty dormant
Then one of the infinity snaps surged cosmic energy (like Rocket mentions) and that energy accelerated the x-gene kinda like you mentioned
That way we could still have Prof X and a small unknown x-men group existing but not until the surge of mutants from the cosmic energy and the general global fear of super powers post infinity war would help lean into why people are afraid of mutants but not all superheroes

About the part where you mentioned that the infinity stones are sentient: This reminded me of the Infinity Wars comics from 2018/2019, I recently read, where Adam Warlock (using the soul stone) gave the infinity stones their own soul. Also, there is the part where Overtime got introduced. (The time stone "chose him") I really like this idea of the infinity stone having their "own mind/soul".
And your theory just makes all of this even more exciting and would be (in my opinion) the best way for the MCU to continue after the Multiverse saga. A potential arrival of the phoenix force in the MCU could also be a perfect setup for an Avengers vs Xmen event (my favorite comic btw).

All signs are pointing to them just shouting multiverse and then suddenly we get Xavier and team. Same way MCU may never do their own proper Green Goblin, they may just never do Magneto, since his origins would be the hardest to fit into the existing MCU. I had a theory a while ago about why the Mind Stone chose Wanda. Red Skull said the Infinity Stones have a certain wisdom to them, so what if all 6 Stones are connected by their own network and can communicate with one another? Thanos had already obtained the Mind Stone once before it landed in von Strucker's lap, so I'm thinking the Mind Stone was like "this Thanos guy is setting events in motion that will lead to my destruction, I'd better give chaos magic powers to this girl so she can spontaneously create me again" like she did in WandaVision. Or maybe it was more like all the Stones relayed their own experiences to each other and could see their destruction by Thanos coming, followed by the destabilization of the multiverse, and were all like "We'd better choose special people to carry on our powers to fix this mess once we're gone." Idk, theorizing is fun lol. Heck, maybe (since time appears to be cyclical in the MCU) the whole reason there are 6 Stones is because of the original 6 Avengers?? One for each?? That works, right? Great video & a very interesting theory! Somehow, in the end, I don't think Apocalypse will be the one behind all of the Infinity Beings because it doesn't seem like the MCU writers are that creative.
Carol isn't a mutant, she's a mutate. To be officially classified as a mutant, they have to specifically possess the X-gene, which first activates during puberty or times of high stress. If they gain powers through an external source (eg. Gamma radiation, cosmic radiation, radioactive spider bite, super solder serum, etc), they are classified as a mutate.
Apocalypse is only "immortal" because he transfers his consciousness into his new host bodies.
If they do him right, it doesn't matter how many Infinity Beings there are, they only really need (adult) Franklin Richards to beat ANY threat!!!

I think you don't even need Apocalypse for this theory, you can tie this directly to the Celestials: they needed to ensure the survival of the human race to feed the Celestial seed because the Eternals were busy fighting with the Deviants, so they set this dormant gene randomly in certain individuals that would activate in the case of a death-facing event, giving them some sort of instant evolution to adapt to the current situation and survive. The higher the danger, the greater the transformation, hence the stronger the powers.
In addition, the blip would explain why the number of characters with superpowers has escalated so quickly recently, this was a death-risk event for half of the population.

I have a theory (sorta based on this and other like it y'all've had), that Loki was somehow destined to be the Avatar of the Time Stone. All of these "Infinity Beings'" powers seem to be colors coded to the Stone which awakened those powers. Loki's magic has always glowed green, like the Time Stone. And now, he is the living Temporal Loom taking care of the miriad timelines and Stories.

I’d love to think that every infinity being was who they were in marvel comics in another universe and the only reason they got powers in the MCU is because the infinity stones are trying to reset back to that. So when were “all together” all OP characters are powered down.

The MCU Infinity Stones are sentient. Not only does Wong reveal this when he's telling their origin in Infinity War (I wanna say), but Red Skull reveals this when tells how he got to Vormir; the Space Stone sent him there at the end of Captain America to keep him away from it, and the Soul Stone gave him infinite knowledge and immortality, everything he wanted, but he can never leave so it played a sick joke on him. They're DEFINITELY sentient lol.
Then there's Thanos "reducing the stones to atoms". We never saw what actually happened and they weren't brought up again; the Avengers just go on the time heist. I've always said that he destroyed the crystal housings around the stones, but they're all an "essence" like how we were introduced to the Reality Stone/Ether in Thor.....so my thing's been "What if the mainline Infinity Stone essences are still out there floating around?"

I like this. I've thought the same (mostly) from the beginning.
    Stones give superpowers
    Mutations gives superpowers
    BOTH give Super-duper-powers
Thats why Wanda and the Captain are wildly overpowered.

I had the idea that with the Stones destroyed, the energy went to people who were touched by one of them, and thus absorbed their energies. Making six people in the Universe into Infinity Beings
    Carol Danvers
    Wanda Maximoff
    Bruce Banner
    Peter Quill
    Steven Strange
    Clint Barton
Each of them harnessed the power of an Infinity Stone, and could be seen as a new vessel for cosmic energy, many of them outwardly powerful.
    Other potential - Loki.
Clint is the most controversial option, but the Soul Stone energy might not be ourwardly "powerful"

At the moment it seems that the events of MCU secret wars will reconfigure the multiverse, possibly leading to an MCU earth that suddenly has mutants on it. Recent MCU movies are suggesting that most mutant peoples are in alternate realities.

My thoughts exactly. All signs are pointing to them just shouting multiverse and then suddenly we get Xavier and team. Same way MCU may never do their own proper Green Goblin, they may just never do Magneto, since his origins would be the hardest to fit into the existing MCU. It seems like most of the mutants will come from the multiverse or will come after a total reboot of the MCU.

@15:41 First, this was great, and so are your other speculations. I think you'd do great advising anyone on worldbuilding continuity or doing so yourself. I did notice something at the time mark I added: according to your own theory and information, it can't be the space stone that Apocalypse encountered. You've said he was born 5000 years ago or in 3000BC. If Odin sends the space stone to Earth in 500AD as you say, that's 3500 years too late for him to interact with it! I don't know which stone it was, but if your info is correct and cannon, we know which one it isn't.

Wanda had a necklace on in Age of Ultron with a centerpiece with some red liquid in it, i think her father used his magnetic powers to go through that door before Jane Foster did and took some of the Aether and put it in a necklace for his daughter, and that is why all her magics are red colored and why they are Reality affecting.

Ugh, don't remind me of Kahhori. I don't get why everyone hates Carol Danvers for being a Mary Sue, but everyone loves Kahhori. That whole episode of What If was one long "I'm better than everyone" ego trip. She got super powers and immediately 1-upped every other superhero in her universe and then "achieved world peace in record time." (by conquering every nation on earth with telekinesis, but everybody still loves her for it.)

Since Marvel likes to retcon origins so much, I wonder if instead of the Phoenix choosing Jean, it chooses Wanda, since she’s an established character with near-unlimited power. This would save a significant amount of time setting up all the different X-Men and getting the audience familiar enough with them all to get them to care enough about Jean to have any sort of emotional impact on the MCU. Plus, we’ve seen two failed attempts at the Jean Grey Phoenix, so audiences may have a bad taste in their mouth from them, but might welcome a new spin on an old story.

I was not expecting the Apocalypse twist at the end. But honestly, Ryan you're not the first to have an outline for this theory. A few years ago, someone came up with the theory that Thanos' initial snap in Infinity War laid the foundation of the mutant X-Gene since Rocket said, "Earth has become ground zero for a power surge of ridiculously cosmic proportions. No one's ever seen anything like it." in Endgame. I will say, now that we know Wolverine and the Weapon X program exists in the MCU now that both these theories have some holes in them now. Since Wolverine was probably in his 70-80's when he joined Weapon X, the idea of mutants being around since AOU is a little off. But we'll have to wait and see Marvel's official explanation for the X-Men now.

Love this. I think this would be the best direction for the writers to take the MCU, since all the most popular heroes are dead or retired, it's time to go full force into X men...only problem... WE already have a huge library of great, loved, movies about these stories. I haven't seen these movies, but Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, even the X men as a whole have already been done thoroughly and beautifully. Just, in a vacuum. So with that being said I think they're best play would be to mix X men and other heroes seamlessly, and not make a big deal about mutants. But we need a new lead. Cyclops, Reed Richards, maybe even a Wolverine could be promising. I'm hopeful for Sam's Captain America too but we haven't seen him at all lol. The characters we have right now are increasingly just kid or female versions of established superheroes. Which are fine, but I think we're ready to see alternate universe versions of old favorites, Tom Cruise Iron Man, anyone?
