there's no way I go out caseless, I feel like my phone's naked lol. Last year I got a leather case from vionentus and has been my go to for almost everything, because it made my phone look elegant and minimalist at the same time, it depends on the occasion I change to another silicone case or any other design I have, but that one is the one that I use the most

@@vaultboy1419 it's $10 a month, and the deductible for screen or back glass replacements is $29. Not to say a case isn't a good idea, but it's not expensive to have AppleCare+. If you can afford an iPhone but can't afford to protect the investment, you shouldn't have a phone in general.
I'm a case guy. I'm still using a 12 Pro Max, and the phone has always been in a good quality case with one of those self healing screen protectors. The phone is old and I probably can't get much for it, but having it look like it was looked after and not abused is important to me. Kind of like not letting your car look like crap....
I will never go caseless. Unless I have no choice. Like if I'm waiting for a case in the mail. I can't stand scratches or dings. I love for my device to look brand new even after 2 years of having it.
I’m a fedex driver who runs through some of the most dusty and unclean environments (backroads and old dirty truck) and I never use a case with my iPhone 14 Pro, constantly throwing it in a cup holder or in crevices that hold it. Phone has held up extremely well and it’s something i’ve told others over time, case is no longer needed. Underrated video
lol my 14 pro accidentally dropped from my couch on the floor (tiles) and shattered the back in 1000 pieces into a mosaic. my 11 fell from my hands while i was cycling and shattered the back, broke both lenses and scratches in front. always buying a case now and screen protector
I use 15 pro max as well and do not use a case. This is the first time I have ever used a phone without a case. I've dropped it many times but it's nearly flawless. Very impressed.
@@dyoodekzromo4474 It has never dropped face flat but my wife dropped it when she was taking it out of the container in airport security and it hit metal 3 or 4 times before eventually hitting the ground. I cannot believe it went through that without a scratch. Either I am very lucky or this thing is made pretty solid. Also dropped on hardwood many times.
As long as you got a screen protector it should be good. Had to replace my screen protector just because it got a crack just for being in my pocket. No idea how that happened. I dropped this phone many times and I don’t see any scratches on the phone. Still looks fresh out the box
My favorite “case” (non-case) is the Suti magnetic phone back. It’s a magnetically attached silicone backing that gives a little more grip, but leaves all the titanium edges completely exposed. I love case-less phones, but I don’t like the sound and feel of a hard phone resting on or sliding across a hard surface, like a desk. This suti phone back is a flat silicone layer between the back of your phone and the desk, leaving the rest of the phone fully exposed. It also fixes the annoying camera bump wobble.
When I was in the military, i made it a tradition to go caseless every time I deployed. I took a iPhone 11 and an iPhone 13 Pro into the sandy Middle East and they survived both times. I just upgraded to the iPhone 16 Pro and I think caseless with a tempered glass screen protector is the move. These phones are built to last these days, newer models are made of titanium!
I went naked for 3 years for my iPhone 13 Pro and it never broke. It fell of my roof while I was changing my shingles and landed on concrete and it worked fine no cracks and only some scratches and some dings on the steel frame. I just traded it in and am now running a 16 pro max naked. So far so good.
I haven’t ever used a case going all the way back to the first iPhone. Cases are awful. I’d much rather have a few scratches than have to constantly interact with a cheap feeling plastic/rubber phone case. Once you get used to not having a case you stop dropping your phone. I’ve had one cracked screen ever.
I have a black iPhone 15 with a guava silicone case. Looks absolutely gorgeous! And the silicone texture gives me really good grip. Nothing "cheap feeling" about it. "Once you get used to not having a case you stop dropping your phone." Speak for yourself. I'm certain this isn't true for most people.
Unless you work in rigorous environments and have one-off times where you pull out phone from pocket too fast, send it flying, and shatter the screen. Not worth the reward.
Can’t say too much on the newer iPhones, but my iPhone 12 Pro Max went naked for a year (second year of owning it) and any drops on tile at home at ~3ft or wood would survive just fine. It’s concrete I had to watch out for, because of its rough texture, it would chew up the frame with every single drop. Came to the point where the screen did crack and I used my Apple care + to have it completely swapped out, with $129 fee. Still worth it IMO cause I got to enjoy my phone case-free for a year and got the thing refreshed to new (new screen, new battery) and extended the life of my phone for another two years.
More durable than the case makers would like to admit! I worked in a public library and people would come in with screens so damaged I couldn’t even believe you’d see anything let alone still have a working touch screen. They looked hideous though.
Using the 15 PM case less with Apple Care+ and enjoying the freedom. My only two gripes are heat and slipperiness. I play a lot of games on my device and it does get warm and its not as slippery as the 14PM but I do have to be intentional when picking it up and holding it.
I’ll take your word for it. I used to go caseless all the time until they started using glass backs. I’m not even worried about dropping it, but I would have so many tiny scratches on the back that I went back to cases.
It’s still slick as hell without a case. I live where it’s dry and super cold in the winter… that equals a lot of drops because your hands don’t have much moisture or oil.
I’ve never used a case or screen protector since the first iPhone came out. Only once did I break the glass when my phone fell on my bicycle pedal spike. I’ve dropped my phones hundreds of times. I hate anything that makes it bigger or interferes with its performance.
Wow. I drop mine from waste height maybe once a year. My 14 Pro has only had one good drop in 2 years. That said, I use a case for grip. I find silicone or leather make my phone easier to handle. I’m glad they are more durable. That’s peace of mind. I’ll keep using cases for comfort in the hand.
I find a leather case to be great with my iPhone 13. Just enough grip and no digging in of the corners into the palm. My old Pixel 4 had similar feel naked which is how I used it. But iPhones are just too slippery.
I decided to go caseless when I got the 16 Pro Max and I’m loving it. I hate any added bulkyness to my phones. I do have a tempered glass screen protector but I’m sticking with no case
@@augified so far so good. No scratches or anything. And every time I’m using my phone, I make sure to keep my pinky underneath the phone so it doesn’t accidentally slip out of my hand
I have the OtterBox defender in. They’re calling it Denver dust purple, my kid was the one that talked to me into the defender because he’s 13 and has it for his phone it’s thicker than what I’m used to, but I actually really like it. It’s very easy to hold, and when I prop my phone up to my ear, it was my shoulder. I know it’s not going to slip People probably think it’s hideous, but I really really like for my phones to be protected. I’m in and out of Ubers all the time and I want something that it’s not gonna get super dirty and just easy to carry around so that if it’s heavy, I won’t forget it in an Uber lol
It’s so pretty having it caseless. Never drop it (but my cat sure does) and it’s totally fine. Hairline scratch is meh. Sides are perfect, cameras perfect, back glass is perfect still. They’re built very well c: 2 years and strong 😤
I can’t ever go without a case for any phone I own. I’m not clumsy but I really enjoy the extra security alongside better grip as well. Even going back to basic phones I owned before my first ever smartphone I always had some kind of case and while I understand there’s better durability throughout the years I still take the safe route, better safe than sorry.
The frame is a few mm of titanium bonded to aluminum. It dents MUCH easier than the stainless. Titanium is extremely strong compared to its weight , but is not stronger than stainless steel. Ya gotta look into these things. Plenty of people have dropped theirs and it tears up the titanium.
I’m just providing my personal experience. It’s anecdotal but my extensive experience with phones over many years is enough for me to deduce that the changes in materials have made a difference in durability.
Welcome to the naked phone club! Some of us have been here for years. I’ve never used a case, aside from a slipcover type case when in my purse, in all my years of owning a smartphone. And no broken screens or damaged phones. It could happen, but that’s what Apple Care is for. :)
I have an iPhone 15. I pretty much only use a case when I'm doing something more rugged like hiking. I've gone caseless a much higher percentage of the time this year than ever before. I just love the design of the phone and don't want to cover it up. I do have a screen protector on it.
I ditched screen protectors (but not cases) when I got my iPhone 15. One year later and not even a micro scratch on the display. I don't know what they started doing to these displays, but after being in and out of pockets, face down on tables, etc. the phone still looks the same as the day I got it. The higher and Apple Watches with sapphire glass, despite being in dispute as to their purity also seem to be resilient. My AW Ultra 2 also looks the same as the day I got it despite taking it on multiple dives, hikes, and banging it against a brick wall by accident. Insane.
I subscribe you for this. I used my iPhone 15 (A Regular One) without a case and even used a 12 mini without a case. In my experience from iPhone 12 Series iPhone drastically improved, even the iPhone 16 has more dense ceramic shield which is awesome, overall Pro ones are more stronger but the regular ones are not that behind.
@bhu987us i recommend dbrand. The shipping took like 10 days. So that part sucks but the quality is second to non. I suggest buying like 2 of them at once so when you get bored of it you can switch it out. Going case less was the best move i ever made.
I've been using my 14 Pro without a case on and off all year, no problem so far and the squared off sides make it easy to grip. Only problem is the stainless steel gets smudged with fingerprints and I have to clean the sides fairly regularly.
I really enjoyed this video. (Enjoy all your content Jason). But it was very comforting to hear that you have gone that long with out a case with no issues. This past year I went with a very slim fit case and I was afraid my i-phone might break. NOPE. I have dropped it several times from a height of 4 feet. I have dropped it face down, flat on it's back and every other single angle probably 5 dozen times and nothing. I think the durability of i-phones has increased substantially over the past few years. After seeing this video I might not buy a case for my next phone.
I've used Otterbox Defenders for every iPhone for the past 10 years, until about a month ago. Now I have a magsafe clear $20 case and love it. To me, it's the best middle ground. I'll never have a bulky case again. I don't know why I always assumed to buy the biggest, thickest case possible.
Even with the earlier stainless steel frames going caseless was fine. Stainless steel is actually harder than titanium and so is better for drop/scratch/dent protection. Titanium only really has one advantage - it's lighter.
I have a 14 Pro Max which I have used case-less for the last 2-years. It has been dropped a few times, but the only damage I have noticed is a little scratching to one corner of the frame when it dropped onto concrete. I would never again carry my iPhone in a case
It never NEEDED one though almost everyone's bought into them over the years. I bought my first iPod touch (2nd gen) new on release. I replaced it with a 4th gen on release and a 6th gen on its release. I replaced that with an iPhone 5 2nd hand and that with an iPhone 12mini which I still have, bought new on release. NONE of these devices have ever had cases! Apart from some really slight scratching on some of them and a nasty scrape on the corner of my iPhone 5 where it fell onto the pavement, none of them have been damaged at all. I've marvelled over this money spinning case marketing lark for years. People say "What a gorgeous look for the new iPhone with the colour matched glass back, sleek edges and beautiful finish - right, now I'll wrap it in rubber so you can't see any of it. Hilarious. 😂 My approach has always been, if I buy an expensive piece of beautifully made electronics then I'm going to take care of it by treating it as though it's an expensive piece of beautifully made electronics. Seems obvious to me. N.B. Not a single one of these above devices have ever needed repairs and neither have my 4 iPads (which also have never had cases and were also undamaged and only lightly scratched when sold/exchanged).
I tried using different types of cases for my iPhone 15 Pro, such as Apple's clear and silicone cases, and I found that they attract dust around the edges and cutouts, which can get inside and scratch the iPhone's bezel.
I always make sure to get an Otterbox case and while I’m awaiting for my iPhone 15 to get delivered (upgrading from an 8 Plus) I don’t ever feel right not having a case at all. On my current phone since I’ve owned it for four years I’ve actually had a couple different cases after the Otterbox because unfortunately even those ones wear out after 2 years with the plastic edges. I do feel like I still get my money’s worth with those (especially the ones that have built-in screen protectors) but that’s my only knock on those cases, the plastic around the edges is the only weak point where it can tear off over time as I encountered that on the iPhone 6 but the 5S and 4 were better made cases for those phones.
I am an OtterBox defender case user here. I know people say they’re big and bulky, but I’ve actually gotten used to it. This is the first one I’ve had it is purple and I like it because the MagSafe portion is very sturdy and since I have a MagSafe wallet also when I’m holding it like talking on the phone I can Prop it up with my ear to my shoulder and I feel very safe and secure like it’s not gonna fall I don’t know. I just really like it. I know people probably think it’s hideous, but I don’t care.
I like Otterbox as well and I don’t care about the extra weight. If anything, that makes me feel more comfortable about my phone actually being there in my pocket and when you go from that to a lighter case it does not feel anywhere the same. I’ve had an 8 Plus for four years and the life of my Otterbox lasted for two years but afterwards I got a metal case that was $25 with a built-in screen protector which lasted 10 months and now these past 8 months I’ve had a cheap $12 case that still gets the job done but had to hold myself over until I get my new phone which is the iPhone 15
My friends freak out because I don’t use a case on my 14 Pro, but I enjoy the tactile feel of the uncased iPhone. I have dropped the phone many times from different heights and on different surfaces. My phone is still in pristine condition. I do still use a screen protector.
Everyone else seems to be more fortunate than I, because I’ve had to replace my 15 Pro Max twice, both times case less, once driven over on a dirt road, and the 2nd time, dropping it while getting out of the vehicle
I hate being caseless but recently I've had enough of silicone cases getting stuck in my pockets and plastic cases just being ugly in general. Caseless is honestly fine if you don't drop your phone frequently, you can at least appreciate the design like that.
I’ve been going ceaseless since the 12 came out. Now what they need it’s to put sapphire in the front like they do with the Apple Watch and move that from glass to the back for ultimate durability.
The first two minutes of this video demonstrate why I think a case is essential. You talk about how often you drop it because it is so slippery. I always put a case on a phone before I even leave the store. I rarely drop a phone because the case is easy and comfortable to hold. The naked phone has uncomfortably sharp edges. For me, it is a matter of personal comfort and when I trade up to a new model, I always get full trade in value because it still looks brand new.
Personally, I just dont like how a naked phone feels as far as slipperiness, thinness and when it gets warm in the Texas heat makes it uncomfortable Plus where i live, im always outdoors and surrounded by either gravel, rocks etc ... Would much rather rock a case that i like then worry about an accidental slip from my pocket
I use thinnest clear soft case and full screen protector, seems to give perfect amount of protection for iphone to still look new for resale value, plus is can barely tell it’s covered in protection
It's very humid where I live, my hands get balmy fairly quickly and will get the phone slippery. So cases are a most for me if I don't want to drop it all the time.
Will always buy/use a case no matter how durable and won’t be swayed by anyone. My phone has stayed brand new looking with all the drops experienced with a case, and when trading in, it is in pristine condition.
Who is telling you all this??? Unless you’re selling it through private sale, it doesn’t matter. Apple will give you the same amount of money. Now if the screen is cracked or shattered or something crazy then probably
i keep my phones till they basically dont work anymore so going caseless would be silly, but i love the idea of cases not being needed. less bulk the better and way less waste
I use a case and a screen protector. My 10 year old iPhone 6 looks like I bought it 10 minutes ago. Upgrading to the SE 4 when it’s released and using the 6 for a backup/iPod.
I always use a phone case. You were fortunate that your phone survived so many drops, but can you *guarantee* other users will have the same degree of luck? I have a black iPhone 15 with a guava silicone case. Looks absolutely gorgeous! And the silicone texture gives me really good grip. I use a screen protector, too-a really tough one. So I feel very secure with my phone.
15 pro here and I use apples silicone case when I’m out and about, in the house I remove it as I much prefer the feel without a case, plus it’s such a beautiful phone. The case is to protect the back when I’m outside the house and preserve the trade in value.
The Tech21 case makes the 15pro much easier to handle without inadvertently opening an app or dropping it. Great protection and perfect lip around the edge.
Been going no case with my 15 Pro for the last year and it’s held up perfectly. Few drops on concrete and all I have it a few chips on the corners. I have the blue one and that top layer scratches away to reveal the natural titanium so that’s probably why you didn’t see any scratches and the corners. I also have apple care because screw losing €450 plus over a unlucky drop.
I took my case off about 2 months ago to use a magnetic charger and I haven’t seen it since. I’ve dropped my phone several times & fell off a boat. Other than a few small scratches that you can barely see it still looks brand new.
There has been no case or screen protector on my iPhone 14 Pro for two years. A few scratches on the screen but other than that no issues. Some drops from around 4ft onto various surfaces, and all is good.
I used to get an Otterbox for all my iPhones. Lately I only use their thin clear case and my phone has been flawless even after a few drops onto sidewalks and such. I do prefer a bit of protection and grip that a thin case provides, while still seeing the beauty of the design. Just ordered a 16 Pro Max after using a 12 Pro Max the last 4 or so years.
It's crazy to think my first iPhone was the iPhone 5, and I never used a case on it. I was so obsessed with the brand and how sleek it looked that I couldn’t get enough of its design. By the end of the first year, it was still almost in perfect condition. Unfortunately, I ended up losing it in a taxi. I still miss that phone, though! 😂
It’s too slippery for me to go naked on my 15pm. The only model I went naked was with the 14pm as the stainless steel was a lot gripper due to the coating.
I still would have a case. Reason: the price of a new iPhone Pro model--especially the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro models--are going to be *WAY* over US$1,000. At those prices, you definitely want something to protect the phone itself.
I still use a case. I recently switched to a Casekoo Magic Stand case which I really like! I love how they implemented the built in (ring) stand that folds out when you need it and then folds into a groove when you’re not using it so it’s flush with the back of the case and essentially out of the way. The case itself is fairly slim and sleek but still offers high grade protection. 16 foot drop rating. Air cushions in the corners, shock absorption material around the edges. I don’t like to have any scratches or dings, or god forbid a broken screen or back. So I prefer to use a case, to be on the safe side. But I feel like with the latest iPhones you could probably get by without a case if you wanted to. Especially if you’re generally careful with your phone and don’t tend to drop it anyhow. So the main reasons I continue to use a case, really, are for the built-in magnetic stand so I can easily prop my phone up anywhere for watching video and FaceTime and reading the news or books hands free. And then also because I feel like the phone is easier to hold, especially when playing games and it lays flat on a table without wobbling due to the huge camera bump. 😂
I will continue using a case because I am picky with scratches. But, you have a point and I agree with you that Apple has improved greatly the durability of the iPhone Pro models. The change to titanium was the right one.
I was always a case user until the 13 pro max came out with that perfect green. I couldn’t hide that behind a case. Upgraded to the 15 in blue, and while it’s not as good of a color as the green, I was just used to having no case.
I’ve had every single iPhone since the original, and started going caseless around the iPhone 4 I believe, and have no plans to ever change that. Also the only iPhone I have ever damaged in all those years was ironically the first original iPhone while I was at a party lol.
The way I see it. I drive a car and it cost way more than my iPhone. My car is not protected so why should my phone be. Phones are a lot cheaper to repair than cars. So I myself don’t need a case or screen protector.
I usually get a clear case. Otterbox mag safe case is pretty thin and can still see phone. I’ve seen plenty of cracked screens (not mine) and scratched cases.
What I would like to see, is phone manufacturers make the outer surface of the phone easily replaceable & affordable. They should make the guts of the phone modular so that with a few screws or easy snap mounts the innards can be removed, and placed inside a new outer body. This would essentially make the case market switch to a modular shell market, and both OEM & aftermarket shell producers could enjoy a competitive market where creative colors and designs could flourish, just like the phone case market does today. This would allow phones to be a good amount smaller, and users could put the phone through its paces & not need a bulky case making it bigger than it needs to be, and not need to worry about it if a perfectly beautiful exterior could be replaced at anytime, quickly & affordably. I think this is how the future of phones SHOULD evolve into, and it would be a much better experience that would offer great protection and peace of mind & a better solution for everyone.
I have a case on my phone not because I'm clumsy. It is to protect it from outside variables. Those variables include, but aren't limited to; someone bumping into you, someone nudging the table your phone is sitting on, someone placing something on top of your phone because they didn't see it, etc. It's not me... it's the outside world.
Exactly, anything is possible. If the case doesn’t come with a built-in screen protector then it’s fairly cheap to buy a 3-pack of those. Although I bought an Otterbox case for the iPhone 15 I’m getting (upgrading majorly from an 8 Plus) it didn’t come with the built-in protector so I decided to get not only screen protectors to put on the phone but even camera lens protectors as well. I am all about protecting my valuables and keeping them safe for as long as I need them which also in turn means that by the time I move on I could get even decent resale value.
I have had an iPhone 13 Pro Max since it was launched. It has been naked since the day I opened the box. I have repeatedly dropped this phone from waist level during normal use and it looks as good as the day I opened the box.
I haven't used a screen protector in many years. I do keep a thin case on it since I do drop it and usually the 'rim' around it will get scuffed up. Other than that - phones these days rarely need cases. That is, if you're a responsible adult.
I always get shocked reactions when people see my iPhone 13 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max without a case. It constantly hits the ground. They do perfectly fine. I did have protective glass on both for a long time, but removed that recently.
One of the reasons i love iphone is becuz all known manufacturers makes accessories for apple... specially cases, love unique cases and are just extensions of personality and aesthetic for me... but i dont mind being caseless in the future if the phone is actually grippy enough for me
Feel the same here with my 15 pro max.. Still in A1 condition. No case all year. So, no more case for me. Besides paying for a case, I pay for apple care!
My 15 pro max shattered the day I decided to drop the case. It fell inside my jeep and hit the corner on the handbrake lever. It's very weak if it hits just right.
I’ve been always using a screen protector and use a case outside of home but caseless at home. You start to get used to it but people sign on mine for work and I don’t trust them not to drop
I had no case since iPhone 4, but that first phone shattered only a 2 days when it was new. That may have put my brain to be careful on the phones ever since. I did put case part time on 12 pro max and 14 pro, because I didn’t like the corners and used them a lot on videos outdoors. I think I will go back no case in a 16 pro.
A screen protector doesn’t change the feel or aesthetic. On my iPhone 15 pro max, I rock a minimalist case that covers the corners and camera bump but leaves the titanium exposed on sides and top. Back and Front glass have glass screen protectors. To the point of the video though, the phone it self is more durable than previous years’ models
I only use an iPhone case and screen protector on iPhone 4. That is my first iPhone , smartphone I owned. Later iPhone 6 I never use any case or screen protector likewise for Iphone 7 plus and now base iPhone 15. There are obviously some pro and cons come using " Naked ". One thing I noticed the " coating on iPhone 15 seem wear off faster than iPhone 7 plus " Which you know we daily will wipe the phone screen as our fingers got stains etc , dust . Surely daily you will wipe the screen once a while.
I did a similar test and ended up having the front and back glass replaced because of a scratches that made my display not usable (good thing I had apple care if not it would’ve been expensive) now I keep it with a spigen armor case
I use cases because my job is rough and would definitely break it since I keep it in my pocket and also because it makes holding the phone WAY easier. Especially the bigger models
I had my iPhone 12 Pro for 4 years, for the majority of that time I ran no case. It had a few scary drops from my lap onto concrete and off of my bed and whatnot but never chipped or cracked in the slightest. Having just upgraded to the 16 pro max I feel like I have to get a case since the camera lenses stick out the back of the phone so much. Sucks because I love the look and feel of these phones when they’re without a case :/
I did that with every phone i've had. Never made it more than a month and my iphone 13 mini was less than a week. *800 dollars to fix, moved back to android instead. I am still caseless and the Motorola ThinkPhone has been bulletproof for over a year. I would highly recommend it if you hate phone cases.
If you're going vaseline, it's useful to add some grips to it, which reduces drops. Personally I like using gaffer tape, since it doesn't leave any residue, and it's so thin that it doesn't interfere with MagSafe.
Can you do a water resistance test now that you have dropped it many times without case, my biggest fear is I will loose water protection if I keep it without case
there's no way I go out caseless, I feel like my phone's naked lol. Last year I got a leather case from vionentus and has been my go to for almost everything, because it made my phone look elegant and minimalist at the same time, it depends on the occasion I change to another silicone case or any other design I have, but that one is the one that I use the most

lol my 14 pro accidentally dropped from my couch on the floor (tiles) and shattered the back in 1000 pieces into a mosaic. my 11 fell from my hands while i was cycling and shattered the back, broke both lenses and scratches in front. always buying a case now and screen protector
Lmao ur description is hilarious
I use 15 pro max as well and do not use a case. This is the first time I have ever used a phone without a case. I've dropped it many times but it's nearly flawless. Very impressed.
dropped face flat?
@@dyoodekzromo4474 It has never dropped face flat but my wife dropped it when she was taking it out of the container in airport security and it hit metal 3 or 4 times before eventually hitting the ground. I cannot believe it went through that without a scratch. Either I am very lucky or this thing is made pretty solid. Also dropped on hardwood many times.
On pavement?
As long as you got a screen protector it should be good. Had to replace my screen protector just because it got a crack just for being in my pocket. No idea how that happened. I dropped this phone many times and I don’t see any scratches on the phone. Still looks fresh out the box
Ok
"Once you get used to not having a case you stop dropping your phone."
Speak for yourself. I'm certain this isn't true for most people.
Unless you work in rigorous environments and have one-off times where you pull out phone from pocket too fast, send it flying, and shatter the screen. Not worth the reward.
@@bryant7082 Not so. I've seen people accidentally knock their phone off the table. Accidents of all kinds can happen.
Exactly

I am a raw dogger. Havent used a case since before I got my iPhone 6s. Theyre a lot more durable than people like to admit.
sometimes (mostly weekends) i go drinking / go to parties etc.. and dropped my phone thousands of times. case is a must have
More durable than the case makers would like to admit! I worked in a public library and people would come in with screens so damaged I couldn’t even believe you’d see anything let alone still have a working touch screen. They looked hideous though.
If you're on a walk and it drops on the concrete, it's gonna be really messed up, possibly shattered. Not worth the risk.
I live where it’s dry and super cold in the winter… that equals a lot of drops because your hands don’t have much moisture or oil.
until you drop it and break camera lenses … you will cry
Is waste height from a seated position?
Case People: "It's expensive you should protect it!"
Me: "It's expensive, you should be careful with it"
also the concrete : put a case bro, I hit hard 😂
I decided to go caseless when I got the 16 Pro Max and I’m loving it. I hate any added bulkyness to my phones.
I do have a tempered glass screen protector but I’m sticking with no case
any damage so far?
@@augified so far so good. No scratches or anything. And every time I’m using my phone, I make sure to keep my pinky underneath the phone so it doesn’t accidentally slip out of my hand
Same is here 16 pm is big with the case ,so I bought apple care+No case
16 pro max - I’ve got apple care and no case, feels like Ive got some freedom back!
using a phone case is disrespectful to the designers and engineers who work hard to craft the aesthetics and functionality
I believe thats why they invented AppleCare+ but I could be wrong🤭
Welcome to the naked phone club! Some of us have been here for years. I’ve never used a case, aside from a slipcover type case when in my purse, in all my years of owning a smartphone. And no broken screens or damaged phones. It could happen, but that’s what Apple Care is for. :)
I have an iPhone 15. I pretty much only use a case when I'm doing something more rugged like hiking. I've gone caseless a much higher percentage of the time this year than ever before. I just love the design of the phone and don't want to cover it up. I do have a screen protector on it.
cheers mate!
A skin works for me. Gives you that naked feel but it adds extra grip. I dont think I'll ever rock a case again.
Which skin would you recommend
@bhu987us i recommend dbrand. The shipping took like 10 days. So that part sucks but the quality is second to non. I suggest buying like 2 of them at once so when you get bored of it you can switch it out. Going case less was the best move i ever made.
I've been using my 14 Pro without a case on and off all year, no problem so far and the squared off sides make it easy to grip. Only problem is the stainless steel gets smudged with fingerprints and I have to clean the sides fairly regularly.
That's definitely a plus of the titanium. No fingerprints.
As soon as I open my phone package it goes immediately in an OtterBox. From day 1. My phones all are perfect to this day
That’s exactly what I do too, take no chances on anything because you never know what may happen
@@lakerskid2013 these are mini Mac computers. And expensive. Protect them. Please
I don't use a case 95% of the time but I do typically buy one and use it when I do something "higher risk"
I don't know why I always assumed to buy the biggest, thickest case possible.
from where do you got a $20 clear case? only find 49.99 ones online
I’m thinking of going case less this year with the 16 series
do it! get apple care
Hilarious. 😂
My approach has always been, if I buy an expensive piece of beautifully made electronics then I'm going to take care of it by treating it as though it's an expensive piece of beautifully made electronics. Seems obvious to me.
N.B. Not a single one of these above devices have ever needed repairs and neither have my 4 iPads (which also have never had cases and were also undamaged and only lightly scratched when sold/exchanged).
Thanks!
I’m not a fan of full cases, but I do use a bumper and MagSafe grip.
Thanks for the content.
Personally, I just dont like how a naked phone feels as far as slipperiness, thinness and when it gets warm in the Texas heat makes it uncomfortable
Plus where i live, im always outdoors and surrounded by either gravel, rocks etc ... Would much rather rock a case that i like then worry about an accidental slip from my pocket
I use thinnest clear soft case and full screen protector, seems to give perfect amount of protection for iphone to still look new for resale value, plus is can barely tell it’s covered in protection
2:47 what you say???? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's very humid where I live, my hands get balmy fairly quickly and will get the phone slippery. So cases are a most for me if I don't want to drop it all the time.
The Kate Spade case I put on my phone accentuates the look of my iPhone 15 pro AND protects it from damage… a win-win! 🤗
Will always buy/use a case no matter how durable and won’t be swayed by anyone. My phone has stayed brand new looking with all the drops experienced with a case, and when trading in, it is in pristine condition.
Exactly . You get so much more for a pristine phone if you want to sell / trade in after
Who is telling you all this??? Unless you’re selling it through private sale, it doesn’t matter. Apple will give you the same amount of money. Now if the screen is cracked or shattered or something crazy then probably
i keep my phones till they basically dont work anymore so going caseless would be silly, but i love the idea of cases not being needed. less bulk the better and way less waste
I use a case and a screen protector. My 10 year old iPhone 6 looks like I bought it 10 minutes ago.
Upgrading to the SE 4 when it’s released and using the 6 for a backup/iPod.
I have my iphone 13 mini since release. Never used a case. Dropped it dozens of time. No damage but scuffs.

Screen protectors detract from the user experience so much I hate them. Also completely useless with Ceramic Shield now.

I am rocking a Pro Max 14 since release without a case. The screen is a bit scratched but that doesn’t bother me as I don’t see it while using it.
I go minimalist cases now a days. My favorite is the Rebel Flex series. Almost like having no case yet still protective
Then whats point to enjoy the color u choose if u going just to cover it up 😂
@@kuyabulaganation3154the point is the replacement cost
I say yes. In the past I purchased my phones. I leased the pro max 15 this year, so I need to care for it.
Until you drop it once at the right angle and a corner crack invalidates your warranty

I’ve had every single iPhone since the original, and started going caseless around the iPhone 4 I believe, and have no plans to ever change that. Also the only iPhone I have ever damaged in all those years was ironically the first original iPhone while I was at a party lol.
I’m not about to carry around a $1,000 device without a case.
The way I see it. I drive a car and it cost way more than my iPhone. My car is not protected so why should my phone be. Phones are a lot cheaper to repair than cars. So I myself don’t need a case or screen protector.
@@jeremytucker2588can you drop your car 😂
The main reason I uses cases is for it to have a better grip in one’s hand but also on some surfaces. Therefore I prefer TPU or silicone shell cases.
One of the reasons i love iphone is becuz all known manufacturers makes accessories for apple... specially cases, love unique cases and are just extensions of personality and aesthetic for me... but i dont mind being caseless in the future if the phone is actually grippy enough for me
Love the purple bubble wallpaper on the iPhone. Where did you get it?
It’s a stock wallpaper. It’s already on your phone!
Case is mostly for grip tbh. Plus a little extra drop resistance doesn’t hurt. Even if it won’t crack, the frame will get scratched to shit.
I’ve carried mine naked since I got it a year ago and agree. It’s still in excellent condition despite several drops.
I'm sure it has some micro scratches from being in your pocket.
You still need a case for two reasons. One, it's way too slippery. Two, the camera bump makes it wobble on a table.
When I go caseless from time to time, I use a magnetic wallet to somehow lift the cameras off the table.
Did you put screen protector though?
I only caseless when he the cheaper android phone 🤣
If you're going vaseline, it's useful to add some grips to it, which reduces drops. Personally I like using gaffer tape, since it doesn't leave any residue, and it's so thin that it doesn't interfere with MagSafe.
I have never used a case. Ever. I have never had a cracked screen. It fits in the pocket better without a case.
Can you do a water resistance test now that you have dropped it many times without case, my biggest fear is I will loose water protection if I keep it without case
