When i broke my leg and was rehabilitating in the nursing home, a resident and i started singing this song in the middle of Bingo! Almost everyone joined in and i never thought so many people knew or even remembered this song! The only reason i knew it is bc my parents watched hee haw every week back in the 70's. We only had the one tv. Now some have a tv in practically every room in the house!
Nope, Cargo vans and off-ramps and a navigator from Los Angeles Iowa. And a ficus named Eric who can do your stocks and bonds in his native Zambian and still make them pay off enough to buy you season tickets to the World of Dryer Lint on Ice.
November 28th 2023 I'm 51 and me and my family love to watch Hee Haw back in the 70s and 80s😂😂🐴🤠 The song just popped into my head and I had to come here and listen to it again 😂❤
If you listen closely it certainly sounds like it's The Statler Brothers singing the actual vocals. What was interesting is that when The Statler Brothers did appear on Hee Haw they never did this bit. I guess they didn't want to "give away the secret".
I was wearing a cute outfit consisting of a pink t-shirt and denim overalls, and my mom started singing this at me, then she had to send this to me to explain it 😂
Whenever I see this video I see the big porcelain jug and I can't help but remember the time one fell off of a shelf on my head I saw stars and got woozy! That's just what I think of!
I still think The Statler Brothers actually sung and recorded this for Hee Haw. If you listen closely you can pick out the distinct vocals of both Don Reid and Harold Reid.
One of the greatest movies ever made (Junior Bonner) and one of the greatest songs performed only by Rod Hart (Rodeo Man), The latest song by the same name doesn't even compare.
Hello! This was a regular bit performed on Hee Haw throughout much of its many years on tv. This particular clip would have been somewhere between 1972-1975. Thanks for watching!
G C G Gloom, despair, and agony on me G C G Deep, dark depression, excessive misery G D G If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all G C G Gloom, despair, and agony on me
The best era for music was when MTV, VH1, and CMT that played music. Until each had a boss that said no more free music. MTV was the first to cave because upper management - upper management who apparently thought their home planet was Uranus pronounced ur-anus who thought shows like Joisey Shores and teenage moms was Americans want instead of music videos, then VH1 and finally CMT who brought back shows like heehaw and Dukes of Hazzard
I still sing a stanza of this when things go wrong. It lightens it up
Yep It's the reason I looked for this video.
Same!
Me too! 😂
my grandma showed me Hee Haw. She passed away 2 days ago and i started singing this song after reminiscing
And yet the dog is happy as could be.
Of course, he's a dog, not a cat.
Such a good boy!

I'm probably ageing myself but when I was a kid I'd take a bath and watch hee haw before I went to bed! 😂
me too
It's okay to age yourself. It sure beats the alternative
I watched it too
Jerry Cantrell and Roy Clark, life doesn’t get any better than this.
Anyone here from "Angry Chair" by Alice in Chains on their 1996 MTV Unplugged show?
Nope, Cargo vans and off-ramps and a navigator from Los Angeles Iowa. And a ficus named Eric who can do your stocks and bonds in his native Zambian and still make them pay off enough to buy you season tickets to the World of Dryer Lint on Ice.
Yes.
Yes I was so curious what it was 🤣 Jerry killed it I wish he did a full cover

I used to watch it with my grandparents when I was little.
I love the chill hound dog! He's just hanging out with the moon shiners.
That dog is just having a good time!
Me too my favorite when Jerry sings to Layne 😂
That would be funny as hell if that dog howled with this song LOL I love how he’s just chilling out with everyone. Like he’s one of the boys. LOL
He's laughing 😆 watch it again
He was one of the boys
Wasn't old floppy-ear's name Beauregard?
Hes a good boy! There are no bad dogs.
Now I feel like a kid back in the early 80's.
I think it debuted in 1969 , if my memory survived the 70's intact.
Me too
Watched it all the time with my grandparents back in the '70's and 80's
Probably reruns in the 80s. Funny show.
My favorite part of Hee Haw.
Yup. Even Dolly Parton... Nude... might only get a 50-50 vote.😊
I can watch this and enjoy now. I couldn’t do it in the day…odd, I think.
I loved Hee Haw !!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Best loving generation on the planet....I miss them all dearly.

I was just singing this song and my coworker who is from Russia turned around and gave me the oddest look. LOL! I had to play it for him.
I was wearing a cute outfit consisting of a pink t-shirt and denim overalls, and my mom started singing this at me, then she had to send this to me to explain it 😂

Hee Haw inspired A in C. 😁
Memories💛
the hee haw honeys were the best
They'd be perfect if they couldn't talk.

So you'd better be sure and listen close the first time.

Story of my life 😭😭😭
Me too especially the three basics like a nice comfortable house, very high income - 75000 a year, and a gorgeous beautiful tall young wifè
On the bright side, you're not alone. 😉🙈🙉🙊
Nailed every single detail of my life
That's one chill dog though.
They should play this whenever the Nashville Sounds lose a game😂
I still think The Statler Brothers actually sung and recorded this for Hee Haw. If you listen closely you can pick out the distinct vocals of both Don Reid and Harold Reid.
Really? You mean the actors weren't singing this song? 🤣
I believe you're right there, although I do think I hear Grandpa in there. It sounds like the Reid's, Grandpa Jones, and someone else
Yeah. None of these guys could sing those bass notes. I think they're even lip-syncing the moans.
They're singing over the voice tracks. It is statler brothers
Steve Turley sent me here. Also, this is the white man's version of 'Gangsta's Paradise'.
I’m gonna put grandpa Joe in my volume warnings
With Toreil as the main undertale character he loves
True, so true

If you haven't played it with the captioning on, check it out. It doesn't understand Country Drawl. 😆😆 Oh, do I miss the weekly episodes.
Thanks for pointing that out! I never watched it with CC. Too funny!
These old clips are nostalgic to watch but I wish they would tell what year they did the skits.
Hi Charlie! Sorry about that. This particular clip would have been recorded sometime between 1972-1975.

I believe it was the record companies that caused the downfall of music tv with their ever increasing royalty demands.
