Some people use 1 1/2 cups of water per cup of rice I’ll always use 1 cup of water to one cup of rice, but that’s if I use a rice cooker if I do it on the stove, I would typically use two of water to one of rice and it always comes out perfect. Even though I haven’t tried doing basmati rice on the stove yet so maybe you would have to adjust the water to one and a half I couldn’t tell you because I haven’t done it yet. I do use my rice cooker and I use one on one.
I strain my rice and run cold water through it to rinse the excess starch from it, then I put it back into the rice cooker cover and let it dry out. It comes out grainy if you stain when the rice is not quite cooked. I am a diabetic hence I like straining and run the cold water over it. St
Thank you for your video... I am definitely making a batch this weekend. I was cooking it all wrong. Loved your lentil soup... so delicious with the rice. have a great day... also!!!
Rinsing the rice removes starch, so the rice will not be sticky and clumpy. Soaking is totally unnecesary. Just use 1.5 cups of water for every cup of rice. 1:1.5 ratio of rice to water. Bring the water to a boil, add a bit of salt, put the rice in. Then, wait for the water to start boiling again, turn the heat to low (simmer). Cover the pot and simmer for 15 minutes without touching it. Perfect every time!
Hello. Are you using the brand of rice I suggested? Brands vary so the results make not be consistent. Are you opening the pot before the resting period at the end of cooking?
Easier to cook on rice cooker. I don’t soak d rice cause it absorbs more water. I use butter instead of olive oil. Comes out fluffy too, I use 1 cup rice to 1.5 cup water. No soaking please , just cook outright after rinsing rice
It's much easier to use a rice cooker, so you don't have to worry about it. I always wonder why people refuse to buy a rice cooker and keep struggling making rice by using a pot.
The recipe mentioned a specific type of rice. Does not work with all rice and there is a special technique. Don’t give up. Success is around the corner. Check the blog for the link to the rice I used.
That’s very in correct! You do not cook rice on low heat ever! And you should boiled rice then rinse in cold water The only truck is you soak it an hour before ! And add butter or ghee tongue end after rinsing you add ghee or butter and stick in oven 350% for 10 minutes pleaee check the difference rice without rinsing is too much starch no good for Stomach and too much calories!
easier way to cook the rice is most important is ratio of rice to water. The perfect ratio 1.5 cups of water per cup of rice. No need to rinse in advance. Steps: Have pot with tight fitting lid. Add rice and water to the top. Bring water to a rolling boil then turn down the heat and put on the lid. For this amount of rice cook on stovetop for 15 minutes and turn then off the heat. Allow to sit for 10 minutes. No peeking. After that amount of time, fluff you are done.
I watched this right before cooking dinner and just made the best basmati rice of my life! Thanks!

What does rinsing the rice accomplish? Same for soaking, please.

How long do you cook rice and when do you cover and not open? 1:2 rice water seems too much water
thanks

Hi Ria,
Have you tried TILDA BASMATI RICE? I followed the instructions but I can't get the fluffy texture.

Very nice thanks xxx
Can I cook it in the rice cooker?
No they're only for potatoes
❤
Fact - Today in India no one knows how to make basmati rice. The basics. Period. Your video is lacking. But I am sure you are a good cook

How much water is needed for the Jasmine rice
Another way to cook any rice to perfection is use Zojirushi rice cooker.
Love Basmati rice but the hubby does not. Don't cook it often as I'd like. You made the perfect rice.
Thank you so much
My rice is always overcooked in my rice cooker, 🤷♀️. Do I put less water to get a firmer texture?
Thank you
Yes, try that
Just steam it bingo your rice looks white n soft ready to eat.
Try indian gate basmati
Use Dairaddun rice Good aroma .it's not rinsed as starch is absorbed in rice not good for diabetic
Wow almost an hour to make rice
2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice makes whatever I made look like mashed potatoes ☹️
The recipe mentioned a specific type of rice. Does not work with all rice and there is a special technique. Don’t give up. Success is around the corner. Check the blog for the link to the rice I used.
If you’re using two cups of water you need to cook first without the lid
If you want to use the lid throughout the whole cook then use 1.5 cup water
She said two cups of rice not one
@@anai.crespo6032 keep watching
@@anai.crespo6032She said to use 2 cups of water per 1 cup of rice, so their proportions are correct

Why don,t you use rice cooker.
This yellow rice looks like a genetic modified rice.
The rice she used is non-gmo project verified.
