OK, so my new SDG2042X is version 22R5. I will try this steps in new video:
1, try to hack 22R5
2, revert back to 16R2 and try to hack
3, restore it to original 22R5 at the very end
Will be interesting experiment.
What ever you can do even just emailing an attaching that firmware so I can go ahead and upgrade to 120Mgz. Would be greatly appreciated from one electronics guru to an other?

Will this work for the SDG1032X as well?
this method didnt work as is for my new recent serial number unit as I was unable to connect on PORT 23. I was however able to connect on PORT 5024 and using a keygen script to generate the key codes I was able to reenter the new key and update to 120Mhz.
Is there a way to hack TH-cam to block horrible music?
Mute will give you the desired results.
I removed the music track entirely, enjoy the silence.

I have this model but how save would you consider this too be? wouldn't it risk messing with anything in the software(like briking it)?
Edit: I couldn't do this with my unit it had firmware 22R5 preinstalled. That version has a password protected tellnet.= (
Edit2: It is still possible to downgrade the firmware to 17R5 and then do the hack.=)

Where are you seeing that your firmware was upgraded already to 22R5. Mine was only calibrated in begging of year. Pleaser respond where you see the firmware installed?
That Putty won't work if you have that firmware. Did you recieve it new with that firmware, and when did you purchase yours?
Around half a year ago I got mine. You can see the firmware by pressing utility then go to page 2 and it should have a option for system info.
Thanks, found out right away. Unfortunately I have 22R5. Any clue how to come across the 17R5 firmware or even earlier? Looks like you down grade your firmware and go through the process to getting it to 120Mhz and then reinstate the 22R5 firmware and no issues, so I've been reading.
Can the sds1204x-e scope also do that with the siglent sdg2042x upgraded?
Long overdo and you probably figure it out by your self by now, but to those who have not so is it a no. The much cheaper SDS1104x-e scope can however be hacked to be an SDS1204x-e with 200MHz bandwidth instead of 100MHz, so no one buys the 1204 these days but the much cheaper 1104.
stupid question: the menu reads up to 120Mhz but does the outputed signal actually reach 120Mhz ??
Yes, it is the same hardware, only limited by software.
Why would you even spend that kind of money to read a wavegenerator at 120Mhz, just use a DMM!!!
Is there a way to revert it back? In case you need to send it in for repair or something?
Well the core of this hack is deleting the license file. So i guess if you save the file and than copy it back it might revert to original state. I will do more research on this.
If you note the version of your firmware you should be able to get every version from the US.Siglent-site. Product Search (sdg2000x)->, Service&Support->Firmware&Software->Firmware. Here you find pages of historic versions.
Note that one of the steps is making a copy of the license file. Just copy the original back.
New firmware versions forces username & password, This will not work on versions 2.01.01.23R3 and up
Any way around that firmware that youn know of? Like uploading older firmware upgrading to 120Mhz, then reintruducing the newer firmware, that you know of?
it just asks for user and pass with the putty software, "correct"?
Someone knows what is the actual version by september 2020?
