    this is just awesome!
    thanks siglent!
    i only got one proposal... i would like to put a few letters like be or gs next to the channel logo. For bigger measurements that use all 4 channels a little description would be great.
    thanks in advance and keep up the great work!

    This is a great update for the 4-ch X-E. Some of the new features could also be perfect in the 2-channel versions. The new logging function greatly enhances the versatility of the oscilloscope. Are Siglent planning to release a new firmware update for the 2-channel versions soon too?

    Great update. If scope has internet access then setting up NTP sync at boot and every hour with display on makes the date/time automatic. Just use Google to find NTP server ip address and set time zone. The OS update went from Uboot-OS Version 8.1 to 8.2 but no reboot as per instructions. Cannot even tell that is updating from SD card. It would be nice if the instructions included the version you should see of OS and Firmware. Screen shot would be nice in the instructions.

      Thank you. A write direct to drive via USB is unlikely, but not impossible. It's actually fairly easy to do using Python or similar program. What's the largest USB thumb-drive size for the data-logging feature? Sounds like a very useful feature.

    • @SiglentVideo
      @SiglentVideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As of now, the maximum file storage size for a datalogging event is 2 GB and measurement logger is 14 Mpts. The USB stick must be as big, or bigger than 2 GB to reach this, of course. The logging process will terminate when this limit is reached. - Jason, SIGLENT NA

    • @tohaason
      @tohaason ปีที่แล้ว

      The largest USB thumb-drive size supported will depend on what kind of filesystem support the underlying OS has. In the video it was said that the USB stick was FAT32 formatted, if exFAT is not supported then the maximum size possible would be a 32GB stick. And if FAT32 is the only option then the smallest drive supported would be 4GB. I checked the latest manual - it has NOT been updated since 2021, so no help there. It vaguely mentions "USB flash drive" here and there but nothing more.

    Also, the manual and information says this can be used for low speed signals, but what does that mean? Is 2 megahertz too high of a frequency? 200KHz? 2KHz?

    • @SiglentVideo
      @SiglentVideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Sorry for the delays. I was out of the office. The sample datalogging feature uses a fixed sample rate between 1 sample/sec to 25 ksamples/sec. Per Nyquist's sampling theorem, the sample rate should be 2x the waveform period to minimize aliasing. Therefore, the maximum recommended waveform frequency would be 12.5 kHz. So does the software start a new file once the current file hits 4gb? Because fat32 format has a 4gb maximum file size. I'm kind of paranoid that it will actually only record a 4gb file of data no matter the flash drive size because I've seen that be overlooked many times before.
