  • SDG2000X Series is a low cost high performance function generator made by Siglent. When I recorded the video, I decided do not set the oscilloscope in precision mode and I didn't use insulation transformers. Because I wanted the function generator to defend itself and honor its capabilities. The result was as written in the specifications!
    There is an old saying "that you get what you pay for". But why do not get something worthy for our hard worked money? It looks like Siglent broke the standard tradition of high cost, and went against the actual market with a competitive offer of low price - high quality. It is a new age for everybody where we can get professional equipment in the price all can afford.
    If you liked the video or if it was worthy to you, don't forget to give a LIKE. You can also join the Channel for more interesting videos about electronics workshop.
    Thanks for watching it!

      Yes! I totally agree it. ...it is a leader product. My most satisfactory experience was to test it with a spectrum analyzer. It was first time in my life I saw a signal so clean.

    Hello, i have a question. Is it normal that when i go with amplitude 10Vpp and sine signal from 20MHz to 40MHz the amplitude falls down for arround 1.5Vpp? I am using the generator On HiZand using ordinary coax cable. Thank you!

    Thank You for this video! I can't wait for you to do more! Until I viewed your video, I did not realise that this unit can also be used as an independent frequency counter! It's just AMAZING what these "Modern" generators can do, with specifications that we Old Timers could only dream of! I have both a Siglent scope and arbitrary waveform generator now, and am an Old Dog learning the new tricks, Thanks to you!
    Questions: Can this unit also serve as an RF Generator for receiver alignments, or would you recommend an additional generator solely for this purpose? Also, is there a cheap module that can use GPS for frequency reference to plug into this equipment? What is your location, and Are you an Amateur Radio Operator? 73 and all the Best! DE W8LV Bill

    How are you able to get this SDG 2042X to go above 40 megahertz ?

    • @bob.kalpon1398
      @bob.kalpon1398  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was designed as 120MHz, but labeled as 40MHz to be presented in showrooms with the other two models. It was from first production and made for display. Siglent gave to the channel for futures videos because after being in publicity, pictures and events, they wanted the unit to be used for education. About your question, hardware is similar in the models, but it is made with some specific characteristics for its function definition. I will explain your answer in a future video .

    On the machine is written 40MHz so how can you reach 120MHz I don't understand ?

      The unit is 120MHz. But it was a display unit for Siglent publicity. So it was labeled as 40MHz.

    How did you get >40Mhz?

    • @bob.kalpon1398
      @bob.kalpon1398  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! This unit was made for 120MHz. But it was labeled as 40 for exhibit proposes. It came to me directly from Siglent's displays, and it is for your next videos I am working on.
