I saw "KEXP At Home" and was expecting a zoom call or small room in someone's house... Apparently CHVRCHES has the nicest house I've ever seen. 😹😹😹

In the interview version they put out Chvrches said that they performed this for KEXP after-or-before (i forget which one) a live show they were doing while they had access to the venue

Just gotta take a second here to compliment the audio engineers here. The mixing could not be any more perfect for a live performance and that drum kit sounds AMAZING! Great work!!
I watched two live videos prior to this and this is a hundred times better (one of them was a festival so the acoustics are bad anyway but it was like the engineer fell asleep)

Yes, Chvrches are absolutely awesome! Lauren's voice is so unique and beautiful it's hard to describe, she almost reminds me of a "woodland fairy" or something, in the most wonderful way! I've been a fan of theirs since their first album! I would absolutely LOVE to see them live sometime soon!... (Espec. now that things are beginning to get back to a more "normal" state of existence again, since the pandemic is beginning to subside somewhat, finally!)
And (sorta, kinda, somewhat) similar to them, (if you don't already also know of the following), you might also like Echosmith and Purity Ring. They are also very positive energy, uplifting, and inspiring bands with great female leads!
Also if you additionally like more of an EDM style at all, then you surely already know about Illenium, Gryffin, and LSDream. If not, you might check them all out too.
There's just SO MUCH really amazing music out there now, and I always love to discover new stuff I've never heard before, and I also enjoy sharing the knowledge of it with anyone that may be open to discovering new (to them) stuff too.

I really love how they went from being a great synth-pop band to an amazing rock band as the years went by. Constantly evolving and improving. My hat's off.

@@michaelwarren824 All their songs are built around synths and programmed drums, but I think their recent album is the first time they've toured with a full band.

Yes! Lauren belts in out like nothing else!! But the guitar!!! Playing the line you'd think is a synth until you realise it's a heavily processed axe! ..and the bass in high register "Hooky" style which actually sounds like a guitar. Then the drum work. Total dynamite! Surprisingly little is on backing track here. Little more than a bass drone and a quiet sampled back beat which you only really hear in the verses. This band know how to execute and deliver!
Chvrches easily have a catalogue that is festival headline worthy
I spent 5 months not knowing this live performance existed.. This is definitely Chvrches at their best..

Yeah, that's awesome! If you haven't already, you should def. check out all of their older stuff too, as every single album that they've ever put out is just absolutely amazing and beautiful!

Yeah I was the same - discovered "Mother We Share" a few years ago and have followed them since. Always find it amazing how many varied compilations(live, radio, studio etc) of each song there are and how different they sound - very like Wolf Alice in that respect. 🙂
I felt exactly the same when I first heard Here With Me back in 2019. I haven't been able to stop listening ever since. My closest friend got me a pair of tickets for Christmas and in 13 days on 18th March I get to see them in concert for the 1st time!!! I'm bursting and can't wait!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I love Lauren’s full range of her voice! Any song she goes higher and risks that tone! It’s always so beautiful! Like a trance in her tone too!
I watched her ealier performances and how subdued she was, and then this, which is liberation and beauty and intensity. One of my favorite vocalists ever.

I started listening to CHVRCHES in late 2012 and I'm so happy I've had them in my life since. Next month, I will travel to see them live for the tenth time. Can't wait. "Asking For A Friend" and "How Not To Drown" are absolute bangers!

Excellent live band... Lauren's voice has gotten a lot stronger with the years... what attracted me at first was they were a synth based band, now they have evolved into guitar, bass and drums with a bit of keyboards like most others but I still like their songs... and their live show is a must for any who haven't yet seen them.

Man, "Violent Delights" sounds fucking great with the live drums.
They put down their Maschines and picked up their guitars without missing a beat. This is excellent. Lauren is special.
Synths are still there but yeah, amazing how they balance it out. She's my absolute favorite 💗

I think out of all the songs off Screen Violence, Violent Delights is the best song live. Hearing all the instruments live really elevates the feeling of the song, and the visuals are phenomenal for it (HNTD’s is great too).

Witnessing "Asking for Friend" performed live had a profound impact me on listening to a live piece of art. This was captured a little bit of that when i saw it... but seriously though you guys need to see that song performed live.
Chvrches makes music to make you want to dance like a loon while it breaks your heart. I love it so much but it gives me the sads so bad. It evokes a kind of nostalgia with their synthpop, for a period in my life that was so painful I'd never want to go there again.
This band is soooo incredibly good, her voice is perfect and capable, the guys are both proficient at synths, etc and bass and guitar and do them both simultaneously and to top it off the light show is awesome, can't wait to see them in Raleigh NC on June 2nd.
Absolute gem of a performance. So refreshing to have this intimate experience. KEXP always puts out the best experiences whether in studio or at home.
The evolution of this group continues and we're here for it. Thank you to everyone involved for pulling this off!

I remember when Lauren was self-conscious about her voice, she was talking with Haley from Paramore and felt humbled if I remember correctly. She's come a long way. She was good on the first album but you can tell she's got a lot more control and showmanship now. These guys put their hours in. Didn't know they started playing with a real kit either.

I just keep looping this short concert over and over.... I just love the energy, her specially but the drummer is crazy good. Too bad they didn't perform some more. They also sound so much better in smaller venues than in big open places, feels so intimate like this....

Lauren is truly like wine - she keeps getting better and better. Incredibly cute with pitch perfect voice, in combination with the other members of the band - simply irresistible. Waiting for European tour someday :)

@@SynapseMK If she's up to the task, then she should really perform, otherwise it's a strike against her professionalism. If you're going to have Robert Smith's support, best not to fake it because losing his support will have a greater impact than winning his support. Robert can't stand posers or people who pass themselves off as great and then take the advice of bad management because they're lazy.
