So many extra opinions in Beth Israel in Boston. Which is supposed to be one of the best hospitals in the world. If doctors can’t figure it out off the top of their head, they’re not going to research it.
My sister is a PA (Physicians Assistant - a doctor lite) in an ObGyn practice. She tells me it's astonishing how many tumors they diagnose where other doctors have merely prescribed hormones to deal with the endocrine symptoms. A 30 year old woman on hormone replacement is the example she cited.
this is why i like botched cause yes they show the people that are just crazy addicted to surgery, but they also show the sweet moms that just want to be comfortable 🥺

I had my axillary breasts surgically removed in 1988. Those buggers used to swell up each month and were so painful when I’d get my period. Aesthetics was not a thing back then and I was left with 10 cm scars under each arm which are still visible when I put my arms down. I’m so happy for women who have them removed professionally and who are left with no visible scarring. Plastic surgeons are so much more sensitive these days. 🙌🏽
That ducking sucks. You could try lasers to lighten the scars. Yeah I know, expensive but so is everything and if it makes you feel better then it’s worth it
I was left with scars too for both armpits, but I couldn’t feel happier that my painful axillary bumps are gone. I had those armpit bumps since teenager and finally removed them surgically at 30 years old. Best decision in my life!
i have this same condition, but for some reason mine was only on one side. i got mine removed about 5 years ago and i am eternally grateful. this makes me feel so much less alone, so happy for her!

I stopped wearing strapless and sleeveless dresses and blouses over 25 years ago for the same reason. I had to turn down many beautiful clothing over the years. I wish I could afford to have this type of surgery, but I'm always happy for those who could because I could absolutely empathize. Congrats and you look great! ❤
People who have this condition are far more likely to click on this video. Then it gets recommended to other people who would be likely to watch the same videos as those people. You, on the other hand, got recommended this video probably because you’ve watched other botched episodes. Same as me. I don’t know how common this problem is. But I have some understanding of how algorithms work.

@@neesan9962 Don't worry, this is not something that can "happen" later in life. It's a birth defect - breast tissue that has developed in a place where it's not supposed to be. For this patient, it has always been there. But it grew much bigger with pregnancy and lactation (just like normal breast tissue does) which is when it became a real problem for her.
She probably has nodules on her thyroid from an inflammation injury to the thyroid, possibly during her back to back pregnancies or something prior. Sometimes the nodules becomes cysts and resolve on their own, but if they are benign they are just monitored. I hope they did an ultrasound on both her armpits AND her thyroid prior to surgery. Maybe they did and just didn't show it.
I wish more people understood the amount of things that can go awry with the body so they would appreciate how much is working right. It could be a source of happiness for many people.

I can't believe how good natured Samantha is about her situation. She's in pain, emotional and physical, and she still makes jokes about her bizarre situation. I don't think I could survive what she went through dealing with this, at least not sanely. Also, this reminds me of Movie 43, where the guy walks up to his blind date, and has balls growing out of his chin.
That's a strong lady with a supportive husband. She was trying hard to be strong in the beginning while explaining her problem but we could see tears in eyes. And she finally let that tears go after the surgery❤ great job by the doctor.
I had this in my left armpit, even bigger than hers and it hurt and affected my entire posture bcause i had to but my arm forward in order to hide it. Finally a doctor surgically removed it and was expecting a tumor or fat tissue growth but was surprised that she took out breasttissue the size of a mango. I was also a skinny girl with a B-cup so you can imagine how that looked. It interesting he mentioned that about the thyroid though, because it was around the same time the mass in my armpit started growing that i got PCOS. And now i've also seen on bloodwork that i have thyroid issues.
Oh those must be painful, I have some breast tissue in my other armpit, but nothing like that. And even a lot smaller is painful and have been considering having it removed. So happy she got it resolved ❤️
@@clairekorte6048 I think they just meant that her thyroid hormone levels are normal so there's nothing interfering with the surgery. That doesn't mean there's nothing wrong with her thyroid at all - she might have elevated TSH and antibodies as an indication of an autoimmune process (which is very common in women). It just means that at this point, the thyroid is not yet destroyed by the autoimmune process and is able to secrete a normal amount of hormones for a normal function of the body. I would presume they recommended her to get an appointment with an endocrinologist to follow up from there. Remember they're not including all the medical discussions and examinations on the show.
what a gorgeous, sweet woman. I'd be interested to know if there was any further investigation of the thyroid (i know that testing is such a varied and layered thing to tackle, there's something that could've been missed from traditional testing for sure). Hope she's doing well!
If someone told me my thyroid was obviously huge and that there was a strong chance of it being linked to my other condition, and then judt went "oops, guess it's fine" I would not be happy. Hope she gets further testing.
It wasn't "oops I guess it's fine". It was a medically based and logical hypothesis* followed by a blood test to determine the facts*. You'd be more pissed if you wasted your money going to a professional who just chopped something off of you without first determining if its likely to reoccur due to it being caused by an underlying condition. They aren't all knowing. They're not God. They're humans who went to school to learn about the human body and how it works. You're mad at the wrong things in life. Be mad when people show lack of concern, not when they want to make sure they cover all the bases in helping those who reach out to them in times of need.

I always thought it was fat under my armpits as I was told by some uneducated doctors when I was a teenager, but when I had my daughter they got painful and heavy with milk and that's when I was told it was extra breast tissues. Still have them but I grew up with them so it doesn't bother me, I always wear long sleeves anyway.

I’m confused how he went from saying lymph nodes are microscopic to look there’s one, there’s another. 🤔 That said I’m extremely happy for her and her husband and family. That’s got to be really tough to deal with.
Med student here, I think he confused lymph nodes with lymph vessels. Lymph nodes are SOMETIMES recognisable (still incredibly hard to locate), lymphatic vessels are pretty much impossible to see. This doctor is supper skilled and has years of experience so I guess he recognised a lymph node, I hope to get to that level some day.
I feel for her. Some doctors are jerks. They don’t listen to their patients at all. I am now partially paralyzed in my left foot because doctor after doctor dismissed me.
I don’t understand how you can see 7 doctors and have had no treatment options, especially in a country like the US where healthcare is just a business and you would be paying those doctors a MASSIVE amount of money for the surgery. In the UK this would be dealt with for free by the national health service.

I have the same issue which I got after I had my son.. It’s long time ago but still not gone and I never wear sleeveless and it makes me very uncomfortable when my arms are exposed.. Happy for her and now I at least know what it is and feels better to know I am not the only one who has it..
I have this, although it's not visible. But I was diagnosed with accessory breast tissue, and it can be painful at times. Makes fear of breast cancer worse.

It's rediculous that it is STILL hard to find a doctor today who will do it! She claimed she saw MANY doctors before these guys took care of it.

I had ovarian tissue growing all over my abdomen and endometriosis. It took many surgeries to resolve the issue.

They do bloodwork to check all the levels on that stuff

I have this, although it's not visible. But I was diagnosed with accessory breast tissue, and it can be painful at times. Makes fear of breast cancer worse.
