Man the word INSPIRE is an understatement. I’ve been along for this ride and as a Danhenge owner I’m building my confidence. I can’t say enough how blown away I am when I see what you do each time. Just know this, I’m plotting mine thanks to your inspiring me.
Go for it! Whatever ya wanna do, I’ll try and help with advice. It’s already a badass guitar right from the start as you know.
true!
Beautiful work man! Hell of a upgrade! I really love that you went with a black pick guard. It makes the whole guitar pop!👍🏻🤘🏻🔥
Thanks man! 🤘🏻
Looks really great dude, customizing an instrument for yourself is the only way to go.
Thanks. And I agree. Making something that is made, built and modded the way you want and in turn inspires you to play more is the best.
Really love the finished axe and the process. Hails
Thanks! 🤘🏻
Omg, you really made it your instrument!
Thanks! It's been a fun journey for sure.
You kinda changed EVERYTHING I loved about this guitar....
I live to disappoint.
u got the real charvel spirit
That thing is badass bro!!! This guitar has become my latest obsession and seeing your mods makes me want one even more. Killer job broseph!
Thanks man! I have 1 more thing to do and I think she will be done. 🤘🏻
great breakdown man love what you did and you really showed a lot on the process. Fantastic video
I appreciate that! I was worried that not showing every step might throw people off, but I did my best to describe what was being done.
Man, great job on all the work put into this project. Right when I thought you were done tinkering on it, BAMMMM! Another surprise. It looks kick ass! 🤘
Thank you so much man!
Impressive job! Looks great and you for sure have a unique guitar now. 👍
Thanks!
WOW…thats a ton of work…great job my man👍
Thanks brother 🤘🏻
Very nice! Great fret work.
Love this video, that guitar & your playing! 🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼
Thanks brother!
😳 guitar looks sick... fantastic job brother 👍
🙏🏻
mate that guitar is insane, love it
Thanks brother!
If it makes you happy that's all that counts. Looks good man.
Killer Charvel man. Would love to own. Subbed instantly when I saw the horror channel. To both!
Thanks! Metal and horror go hand in hand! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Looks great. now do mine when it gets here lol.. Sadly I live in area where nobody could do this level of work. Kick ass stuff
Thanks! Much appreciated.
true labor of love there. Im a big fan of original Charvels, never liked the toothpaste logo but it does look good on that reverse headstock.
Thanks man. I appreciate that. 🤘🏻
I'm a sucker for colored pickups, that pickup combo looks dope!
Thanks!
@@brutesmagootes3996 I built a Frankenstein Ibanez RG earlier this year, I finally got the last finishing touch in the mail, a cream 3-way switch cap!
I bet that's a badass guitar. I love RG's.
All American made charvels should have that lipstick logo....
superb job on the mods, I'm preparing to do a custom paint job on a Schecter Strat body, maybe I'll just strip the paint after all...
What kinda custom paint were you thinking?
Changing the frets to SS was the only thing I've changed so far, plus shimming the saddles, lol
stewmac are a little pricey, but they're the best.
Yeah, I wish Stew Mac were cheaper, but it's a lifetime investment, and they back up their tools. I've tried plenty of cheaper stuff and end up disappointed for the most part.
Love this. I was thinking how I could make my style 2 more individual. I've taken the finish off a guitar before, so I'll think I'll take the matt black off and replace the fishmans with something else.
Projects are always fun! What will you replace the Fishman’s with?
Looks sick! Well done! For those w/o the time, inclination, or equipment for a DIY custom job, Charvel should release a Pro-Mod San Dimas or SoCal natural alder body w/maple or roasted maple neck, something akin to the Govan model but with 22-frets, etc. Seems like the Music Zoo folks and many of us players all love the sound, tone, and texture of natural, oiled bodies, a la that one-time Mahogany Natural Series they did. And Charvel would seem to agree. But when it comes to their production runs, it's mostly tone-killing heavy paint and gloss. DIY is the way to go!
I totally agree man. Plus, I really love the feel of a natural finish body.
This is a Super Duper Strat.
🙏🏻
The work you did on this guitar turned out great! And the videos were excellent. I see that you put a two-way toggle switch. I assume that the original push volume pot was not effective for changing the pick ups quickly? Is that why you put the two-way toggle switch?
Correct, it just wasn't quick enough for me, and I just never got used to it. Plus the location for me was just too far away.
@@brutesmagootes3996 Ok, thank you for getting back to me!
I WANT THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey dude. epic vid. ive jjust bought a san dimas and i really cant get on with the heel. just wondering what you did to modify that on yours ?. Eg. did you use the same screw holes in the neck as before even though due to the new angle the screws dont sit flush with the metal plate? Or did you make new holes in the neck at the new angle and fill the old ones in ? Any help would be appreciated as i plan to do it when possible
I used the same existing holes. Cut the screws to the new lengths and re-countersunk the plate at the new angles so the screws would sit correctly. If you need more details just let me know….
Cooooooooooool !!! 😎
Thanks! 🤘🏻
Great job!
Btw, if you ever consider something similar you should check out the warmoth 7/8 sized strat or teles
I’ve heard good things about them. Do you have any of their stuff?
@@brutesmagootes3996 i had a warmoth tele partscaster. It was cool because it was bare swamp ash body with wudtone finish on it, you could see the quality was great and very light and resonant.Mjt relic bodies are similar. Neck was maple with light flame, very comfy and clean fretwork.
Awesome! Thanks for the heads up,
I really dig how the body colour came out. did u age it or just use tru oil?
Thanks. I just used tru-oil's walnut stain for the color, and went heavier with it in spots for some aging/grime. I finished it with a couple of coats of wipe-on poly.
Hey man hope all is well
I’m ordering a SD “78” for my Danhenge. I had so many different pups on my list from the BK VHII to the Thornbucker but in the end figured the 78’s fitment should be close, cost saving and reviews seem to reflect a similar “clarity” quality. One question Sir, when you pulled the JB, is was it a regular 4wire? I questioned it since the push selection option has thrown me off on a lot of stuff regarding this guitar. Almost would have been easier to just start a while new one but not cost effective. Yet.
Thank you in advance.
If I remember correctly, it was a regular 4 wire. The 78 should sound great
@@brutesmagootes3996 Thanks so much, waiting on it now.
I see you went from two red to three black springs - how does it feel different? I have two reds on a Focus 1000 with an OFR and i love how sensitive it is, but it might not be enough tension to always return to zero.
That’s the exact issue I was having. So I tried 3 red but it felt like it was too much, then swapped to 3 black and felt that was a good balance.
@@brutesmagootes3996 Three red was way too much so I went back to two. I'll order up some of the black ones. Thanks! Also, just bought one of these Charvel Henriks the other day and love all your mods, especially the heel.
Awesome! How do you like the guitar overall? To me it’s fantastic, especially the neck as it’s the perfect neck feel for me.
@@brutesmagootes3996 I'm really digging it so far. The neck is great and it has a really insane natural resonance and wide open tone. I have an SL3 with a JB and the Charvel just sounds bigger and more dynamic, although I think the SL3 has a more refined feel. I'm going to lightly sand the neck to smooth it out a bit, swap in a screamin demon on the neck, put in a vol pot and reuse the stock space for a 3 way, do the push in arm mod and might tremolo-no it too.
I picked it up used and the former owner had clearly set it up so it didn't need a lot of adjustment, but what got me is how naturally resonant it is, it really feels and sounds alive. It's so good i'm a little afraid to mess with it, but I really don't like the push in pot to switch nor the location of it.
Yeah, I too never got fully used to the push pot and its location. I was glad to have moved it. I think you will be too.

What a Californiacation this one...
