For a price tag of $1700 I shouldn't have to do anything to this guitar just my opinion..

The reason titanium parts are so expensive is that it's one of the most diabolical materials to machine. It has poor thermal conductivity, so it keeps the heat in your tooling, it work hardens like crazy, and it's also combustible. It destroys tooling. Wonderful material for certain applications though.

I also dodged a bullet..... Gary Kahler seems a sincere individual with a lot of integrity but as much as he values US-built products, I think his attention to detail is wasted when companies so frequently can't install his products properly. Not only that, but there are frequent, questionable design choices. We know he can build a great tremolo, but not consistently. Thankfully Dean just won their lawsuit so perhaps these problems are a thing of the past? I'll check out your part two.

Soundtrack to Apocalypse box set had a CD with a blood pack case. Floating skulls in it.

I have the exile select 6 which was 1100 new I bought mine used for less. I love the finish it's awesome and the look of the guitar. I will be modifying the hardware though the strings buzz pretty bad. It has a cheap plastic nut, and the bridge I think is cheap as well I have the tuneomatic style. I was even thinking of changing the pickups to passive but the emgs are starting to grow on me, but I think I am going to order a jb and neck pickup. Prob put the emg 57 66 tw in my schecter c1 elite and turn it into a hybrid hellraiser.

I just bought a sd-2 and plan on doing a lot of similar upgrades so I’m stoked I found your channel!

I have an earvana nut on a 24-3/4 scale guitar. I can hear the notes on the G and B strings sound extra in tune which makes chords “jump out more” sounds a lot better. I’ve heard compensated nuts work better on a Gibson scale guitars. I have no idea is lok and roll is the same or similar to an earvana nut but one of my friends tried my guitar and I didn’t tell him about the compensated nut at first. He was playing Iron Maiden and Ozzy riffs and was blown away by how lively and in tune the guitar sounded.

Comparable priced teles include Suhr/PRS/Fender Deluxe all which have loads more features not to mention resale. This feels like it should be priced like the Fender Kotzen at most.

Subbed because of this vid - I love building and modding my stuff too. I just bought a custom shop Charvel single humbucker with a floyd and I love it. I won't be doing anything crazy with it though.

I dig this man. I recently switched to Tone Ninja from Hipshot tuners, because Tone Ninja offered a baritone set already made, vs having hipshot bore out a tuner. I really like how tone ninja offers the different color combinations. recently bought Black baritone locking tuners, but switched the buttons, lock screw and what not to give the black/Gold look you have here. I'm a fan of tone ninja.

I haven't tried it with Gotoh lockers, but the Hipshot Industrial barrel knobs fit perfectly on Tone Ninja lockers. The advantage of the Tone Ninja tuners for extended range guitars is they have stock larger string holes for bigger gauge strings (up to 0.086"). I was installing on an 8-string that I wanted to downtune. I LOVE those Hipshot Industrial barrel knobs - they are very cool looking and very metal.

Great info. I'm also a gotoh tuner fan, and I've been passively trying figure out whether or not hipshot buttons would fit them for a while now. So if I understand correctly, just a bit of shim stock will make it work? Most forums I've searched on the subject (and modding in general) end in practically shaming the op for the very idea of modding any guitar built above the cheapest mass market specs. To that end, I enjoyed your pep talk at the close of the video. Thanks for posting! Mod on!

I never quite understood the barrel design of the machine heads, aesthetically i dig it, but wouldn't this sacrifice finger leverage for turning?
