Got Into Luxury Watches 2 Years Ago, Today I Bought My First Rolex Day Just 1601 Silver/14k White Gold 36mm Vintage. I know it's a Classic Timeless Piece
My first Rolex was Cellini 4112, I still love this watch because it slides underneath my shirt sleeve very nice. I always get compliments from my peers on its looks, purchased it in my early twenties.
As a first time Rolex owner I recently purchased an 2018 Rolex GMT Master ll Root Beer as my engagement watch for our upcoming wedding and couldn't be happier having this timepiece become a part of our very sentimental wedding story. With that being said we've been posting some reviews-videos while enjoying this amazing experience and wanted to say thank you for your provided knowledge and for creating such great channel-content. There are other choices than a “vintage” or “new.” Just like a car there are some watches that have a large markdown when you buy three years old. Clearly there are some Rolex models that only go up in value, there are also some that drop in value. Even if you get a Rolex that is 10-15 years old you can normally buy almost any model for a significant savings. I have two Subs and a GMT Master II. Each watch was 5-10 years old and I purchased each at an appreciable savings. Thanks for the video.
My uncle got me into Rolex. He owns the President. I thought as a 17 year old, I will get that watch, as my grail watch. Well needless to say, I bought my First Rolex stainless with 18 c bezel at age 20, brand new at J Jessups and sons. I did finally get my president ( vintage watch at age 44. I’m 58 now, and still own them both today, and get them cleaned when needed. They are awesome time pieces, I’ll never sell them, but pass them down to my boys. Can’t go wrong with these fabulous time pieces, in my humble opinion. Great video, and I concur with your advice, anyone can achieve these great time pieces, when it’s right for you. Cheers, Matt
My first Rolex was the 40mm stainless steel, no-date Submariner, with a black bezel and face dial. The perfect watch with a polo shirt or a suit. Good advice. Thanks. 👍🏻
I recently bought my first Rolex , an OP and watching your video now after having bought it answers all it all for me, wish I could have come up with it 1) why Rolex 2) why this model.. I got the classic look, sometimes boring but I know this will stand the test of time 30 years from now even 3) milestone 4) what you want the watch to tel about you..
My grandfather left me a 116610 Submariner, he also had a 16750 Pepsi GMT which he left to my grandmother to sell and help with bills. He was a working class guy and worked for both of his Rolex watches. I’ve been saving to buy one myself and have decided on buying an Explorer II! It’s relatively a good starting price without overspending for a first entry level Rolex and has all the functionality of the GMT Master and Submariner for roughly $5,000 less.
I’ve just bought my first Rolex - a Datejust 36, black dial, fluted bezel, Jubilee bracelet. I’m 62 years old & I look forward to many years of happy use & I’ll pass it on to my son when the time comes. Hopefully he’ll appreciate the style & craftsmanship of a Rolex.
Great video, you did it right before the spike in demand. The people who bought a Rolex at the time you made this would’ve had no idea how high the value of that watch would had gone to today.
I’m 30 and have saved up a decent amount, thinking to spoil myself by buying a Rolex, wanted to get the sports series Rolex ( GMT root beer , Batgirl ) but the grey market prices is crazy and retail is almost impossible from a local AD unless i have purchase history, which I don’t. Which means its almost impossible to get them at retail price, but at the same time i do not wish to pay such a premium at the grey market. Looking at the date just 36/41mm but the stainless steel series are hard to get to, just hoping that Rolex increases the supply and not limit them . Fingers crossed..
Good content! I agree with all that you’ve said...this coming from someone who purchased his first new Rolex Sub date in 2003, and has since purchased 2 other new Rolexes. To this day, I still have all 3 of them and love them equally.
Interesting information, but I have it from a reliable source that MVMT watches are better than Rolex and more cheap too. Jokes aside, I've been craving a bit for the Cellini more than the other recognizable Rolexes out there. Now I just need the money to acquire one.
Hahaha, well played! You actually had me there! I was mid-eye roll when I got to your second sentence. Agreed that Cellinis are really attractive. I considered one myself when I was looking for mine.
@@Boros777 I agree. Especially if you're talking about a first Rolex. It's definitely nice to have something that you can tell a story about that most people can relate to. The Explorer and Mt. Everest? Totally awesome. Now you've got to tell me what JLC or Patek is on your wishlist! Personally, I'd love a 5164 and I have my name on a waiting list. Hopefully I don't get a call tomorrow because I'm not quite ready to put my money where my mouth is...
He Spoke Style I got a Submariner as my first Rolex 3 years ago - half because it's so amazingly versatile and half because I'm a huge Bond fan (Sean Connery wore one in the first movie). I have my eye on the JLC Master Control Date with the sector dial, it's simple but stunning. And for Patek... let's just say if you ever want to get rid of the 5711, give me a call ;) The 5164 Travel Time is great - are you going gold or steel?
Nice! It wasn't a 6538 was it???? Big fan of the Master Control Date as well. Can't get much better. 5164 in steel for sure. I'll put you on the waiting list for my 5711... 😉 will be sharing the story here of how I came by it pretty soon. Stay tuned!
I’m looking at the 41mm datejust With the blue dial for my first luxury watch and I think you convinced me to buy new rather than preowned. I tried one on a few months ago and fell in love. I’m new to watching your channel and like it a lot and have of course subscribed. Keep up the great content.
I came across my first Rolex by chance about 6 years ago. Didn't know reference points, or the difference between a submariner or a sea dweller. I was 16 at the time and went to a second hand shop, saw the 16600 sea dweller from around 2000-2001, loved the clean crystal without cyclops and purchased it. Box, papers the whole shabang, and it was a bloody good choice i must say. These days my watch knowledge is incredible, and i'm working in the industry too!
Thanks so much! What in particular did you like about the video that you'd like to see more of? Watch stuff? My experience? Don't write off vintage Rolex as a great buy for the money. Plus, we can help you out with $150 off if you purchase from Crown & Caliber! 😉
I bought myself a Rolex Datejust 16234 with Whitegold Bezel, Jubilee braclet, saphire cristal and Quick set date function. It is a perfect compromise between vintage Rolex watches and new Rolex watches. I will pick it up next week. Im verry excited :)
I’ve had several watches, Breitling Colt now sold, Hublot classic fusion black magic chrono now sold, tag Carreras caliber 5 now sold, Omega seamaster planet ocean still own, IWC Portuguese chrono still owned, Tag connected 45 still owned, I understand that watches come and go or some stay forever in a collection, the ones I have will stay but I’m searching for a Rolex Sub date from my birth year, I don’t believe any collection is truly complete without a Rolex, I’m enjoying the hunt and can’t wait to find it 👍 great videos and channel, keep up the good work.
My mother bought my dad a rolex date just in 1982 when I was born( jubilee 18 karat ,gold bezel and diamond face). I watched him wear it every single day till he gave it to me last week. My first child and first son is due in 3 weeks. I love the stories. I will wear it daily till I pass it on to my son Jack. Very cool sir.
Just bought my first Rolex. A 36mm datejust two tone with champagne dial. I’m in love. I’m not wealthy or a millionaire but I’ve wanted this watch since I was in middle school so I saved up for it. I would like a omega, or grand Seiko next for more everyday wear.
I don't like pre-owned, its just me. I just bought my first Rolex a 41mm DateJust with blue dial, and white gold bezel with oyster bracelet. The dealer had it in the window display and said it was a highly sought after model and can be resold in the secondary market for 20% uplift. Not that he was suggesting it. I immediately fell in love with it and purchased it. I like the white gold as its not as flashy as yellow gold and I can use as an everyday watch or dress watch.. Recently I saw the same watch going for $2k more in the secondary market. So the dealer was not BS'ing me. I put my name on the dealer's list for a 2 tone Sub with the blue dial, I understand it can take a year or more to get.
Back in 1998 I narrowed my choices between the Rolex Explorer 2 black dial or the classic Rolex DateJust blue dial both came with the oyster band and looked beautiful. It was a tough choice but I ended up purchasing the classic blue dial Rolex DateJust, still own the watch and love it every time it’s on my wrist.
Also went with that same DJ for my first. Such a classic and absolutely love it, but sometimes I find it a bit too dressy with jeans a tshirt especially with the jubilee and fluted bezel. What are your thoughts?
I’m in the ballpark of getting ready to buy my first luxury watch. I have it narrowed down to either a Rolex, breitling, or a tag. I’m one of the ones that’s in the ‘i want the long term investment, something I can pass down’.
Good video. I want to get my first luxury piece for my 21st. At first I was really drawn to the Datejust. There's something about the fluted bezel that I absolutely love. I've started to gravitate towards a 36mm Explorer though. The thing is, I can't decide if I should get a luxury piece like a Tudor Black Bay for a couple thousand less just to get my foot in the door of luxury watches, or go straight for the Rolex
Many thanks and congrats! Well, if you want to step into Rolex and are considering Tudor because of the price point, I would encourage you to explore pre-owned. You can really get an amazing deal. My personal advice to you, as a 21yo, is to go for the Explorer. It's classic. It's versatile. It's totally cool. Check out the pre-owned options at Crown & Caliber: bit.ly/2qWFwMr And remember that if you do pull the trigger with them, you can save $150 with HSS150! Cheers and good luck. Let me know how you make out.
I am not sure I agree with the idea that you should go with a classic/plain watch as your first Rolex or any other luxury watch. If the watch represents a milestone in your life then you also want to capture your state of mind, your likes and dislikes from that moment in time in the story. After all it was that very person with his/her own quirks and preferences who got you to that stage of life. If you are simply buying it for style or as a everyday watch, then you definitely want to pick up something you like looking at. The only reason you would buy a plain watch which you find boring will be to have a high resale value, in my opinion. Great video though!
I'm in the market for my first Rolex and have been set on the 36 inch Datejust with white face and Roman numerals. Then I saw the Milgauss Z blue and Wow! I was torn. But your video shared certain insights where the Milgauss will be my 2nd Rolex now. Thank you!
7:02 so rainbow daytona is a no-go then? 😂 also I stupidly rushed into my first Rolex purchase and somehow lucked out and ended up with an explorer. Couldn’t be happier now. Won’t do it again tho.
I bought my first new Rolex almost 40 years ago....a Steel Submariner.... Since then I've purchased several more. The Datejust 36 & 41 are the coolest of the bunch. I have a new 2018 Blue/Red-GMT....but I don't love it more than my simple Datejust.....or my Explorers.... Thanks!
Picking up my Datejust 36 in two days. Thought I wanted a Sub, but fell in love with this one right away when I tried it on. It just fits me perfectly, perfect weight, and looks super classic....can't wait!
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the MAMACOO, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
I just bought my first Rolex 3 days ago, I paid $2800 for a Gold and Stainless 16233 Datejust black face diamond dial, I bought it cause I feel I deserved it an always wanted to own one, and it was just profit on 2 sales so won't regret it.
Heya, quick question: I bought a Rolex Submariner about a decade ago, but then I just started using my smartphone instead of it and it is sitting in a safe in the original case. I'd rather sell it and invest in my dividend portfolio. I called the local Rolex dealer and he said he could buy it as a trader-up, and said there are good places to sell it online, but wasn't allowed to tell me which sites. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
Another point: If you don't want people bothering you about having a Rolex, stay away from the Submariner, Datejust and GMT-Master II. In this case, would recommend more obscure models like the Air-King, Explorer, Explorer II, or Milgauss. I have an Air-King and I've only been approached about it a couple times.
I wouldnt say its an investment. It wont depreciate as quickly but unless you can afford or can get the popular sports models (GMTs, explorer ii, etc.) It most likely wont increase in value and will lose value. Thats why you can get a lot of perpetuals or datejusts in the 2k range. Still a great watch from a great brand.
You're right, an investment is an overstatement. That being said my three year old GMT has gone up in value $4K since I bought it, I just had to get it re-appraised for insurance purposes. And my first Rolex, the Explorer II Polar current model which I traded for the GMT, is now regularly changing hands at $2-3K more than what I paid for it. Having owned several Omega watches in the past, it has to be said, it is refreshing just how well Rolex in general hold their value compared to other brands. It is not difficult to buy one, own it for 5, 10 or 20 years, and be able to sell it for the same or more than you bought it for. Realistically though, if your goal is merely to purchase it as an actual investment, you are going to have to work very hard to get a particularly popular model, then store it in a safe, unworn for years, hope it is still popular in the future, then sell it. And unless you get insanely lucky, there are probably far better investments you could make that would not involve keeping a physical object in a safe and hoping the future is kind to it.
I just got mine as well last week. 1989 2 tone jubilee with original rolex diamond bezel. box and papers. $5500 Pre owned with one owner. An older gentleman who died falling on a sidewalk while walking his dog. His wife sold me the watch through our same jeweler. She initially wanted $6,500 but we settled at $5,500 and I still got 2 extra free original links because the watch was tight on my wrist.
Great video mate! I'm gonna buy a 36 Jubile DJ as well, but I'm not sure yet about the dial color (either silver or black). What do you think about the black dial and its usability?
Good for you! Congrats! I'd say silver if you want something more elegant/dressy and black if you want it to appear sportier. However, I will say that if you decide on black, you may want to consider an oyster bracelet, which will help complement the sportiness of the black dial. Comes down to how you want to wear the watch most. Good luck! Report back when you decide!
I would say go for Champagne dial. I had 36 DJ in black dial for a few months then changed to champagne dial. Champagne has a sun burst reflection on lights. you might want to see them in the flesh and go from there. Happy shopping!
Silver dial on stainless steel all day my man. Same with the white gold/platinum president day-date. Champagne dial suits the yellow gold day date best. Silver is the OG classic old school dial color signature for any stainless steel dj rolex. Same with the platinum and white gold presidents.
Im looking for info on the difference in the "experience" of buying new vs. buying used; specifically what paperwork, warranties, registered ownership, box, etc, comes when buying a new Rolex that you don't / may not get when buying used..?
I wouldn't put too much stock in box/papers. I mean, it's nice, but it shouldn't be a deal breaker. You'd be astonished at the stuff that people will just throw out. The most important thing, is to buy from a trusted and reputable dealer.
@@hespokestyle I happened upon another TH-cam video that provided the info I was looking for. If I'm not mistaken, besides the instruction manual & Rolex box, your name is printed on the Warranty card which is also stamped at time of purchase. So if buying a used Rolex, you're name won't be on the warranty card for that watch. To your knowledge, is this correct?
I'd love a follow up or future video (or comment) about the maintenance required to keep your Rolex ticking over. Was this something you considered when making your purchase? Do maintenance costs differ over the different models?
Rolex Authorized dealers do not have much inventory nowadays. Most of the watches I buy come from grey market jewellers/dealers. I am paying extra for it but they have it in stock and readily available. Used watches became such a huge inventory because you can not buy a popular Rolex model from Rolex store unless you are VIP and spend a lot of money there on a regular basis.
That's great! Definitely recommend checking out Crown & Caliber. They're great folks and we can save you a little bit if you pull the trigger with them. Good luck and check in with any questions! I've been there. It's exciting and scary at the same time.
The history and story behind a watch is what I go for. There's nothing, in my opinion, when it comes to watch history that can top how the Omega Speedmaster Professional became the Moonwatch. That is one epic story. So in selecting my Rolex, it was a bit hard as not one model I thought had such monumental history as my Speedy Pro Moonwatch. The Datejust being the watch that figured out adding the date to a watch I considered heavily, and I may eventually get still. The GMT made for Pan-Am pilots I thought was a good choice since I travel quite a bit, especially to Iceland which has the GMT+0 time -- I am loving Iceland more and more every time I visit. So needless to say, I got a GMT Master II with the Jubilee bracelet.
Absolutely agree re the Speedmaster. It's almost overwhelming the amount of history, scholarship and intensity that the watch has. In fact, to be honest, I was a little intimidated by the numerous rabbit holes you could go down with it so didn't really consider it so much. It is a great watch though, for sure, and a classic for a reason. Great choice with the GMT/jubilee. Classy combo.
How is the gmt master 2? I am having a hard time choosing which watch I want. My dealer has a gmt master 2 on jubilee(batgirl) and he has a all black sub date. These are the 2 that I am having trouble choosing between.
When i bought my first rolex (oyster perpetual datejust 116234) I just went to the shop and look around what i feel its best for me as a person. Its been years now and still rocking it like a new watch. hehe
I always wanted to buy a Rolex..only because my father said it's the only watch brand i should buy.. although he only had a Seiko skx..i bought my first 116610lv 2 years ago..and told my son to only buy a Rolex too..😅
Which Rolex will lost likely appreciate in value ? This is the question I keep asking myself. I will sacrifice almost everything else I want in a watch but appreciation is very important. I got to where I can afford a Rolex because of this mindset so it only makes sense that I buy a Rolex for this reason. I was looking at purchasing a new never worn submariner but you mentioned almost everyone has that watch so not sure. Also it having a history for diving doesn’t resonate with me at all since I have nothing do with with swimming. Not sure why everyone buys this one The explorer stood out the most to Me in terms of “type of guy” I am and seems like it fits me best but once again, needs to appreciate. Any tips I will be SUPER thankful.
This is advice for people who don't care about watches, but just know they want a Rolex. If you are in the same position and find yourself wanting to buy a Rolex, my advice is to do yourself a favour and research beyond the brand alone. Why sell yourself short, there are lots of options out there and while probably 90% of all people might end up buying that Rolex, you made that choice knowing what else is out there and will therefore be able to enjoy it more.
What a great video, appreciate the tips. Am currently on my research phase and hope to make a decision soon. This is really helpful. Thank so much and keep it up.
The erratic/jumpy second hand at 7:41 is why I won’t buy vintage. That would kill me. But I agree, the OP is a solid choice, my favorite Rolex, especially at 36mm.
Very elitist. A lot of AD aren’t even interested in new customers. Its kind of frustrating. Especially now, you pretty much have to buy whatever they have due to limited stock. If I’m paying $12k...I want what I want. Not to settle.

I have the exact same model! I gifted it to myself for graduating high school and I am in love with it
Thats why I want a Rolex
I’ve just bought my first Rolex - a Datejust 36, black dial, fluted bezel, Jubilee bracelet. I’m 62 years old & I look forward to many years of happy use & I’ll pass it on to my son when the time comes. Hopefully he’ll appreciate the style & craftsmanship of a Rolex.
This is nice and all but a "watch expert" is in the industry told me to get a battery MVMT. That's the real deal guys 😂
😂
MVMT > Seiko
MVMT are actually a $2-$5 watches, they get them from AliExpress and they add their own logo, I'm not kidding
You are truly not a watch enthusiast. A Rolex is a must have in your collection to show gratitude to yourself. When that time is right.
@@Nahhmah why is mvmt>seiko?
Great video, you did it right before the spike in demand. The people who bought a Rolex at the time you made this would’ve had no idea how high the value of that watch would had gone to today.
36mm Rolex is a perfect size. Especially the one this guy wearing, 36mm Datejust, white dial. It looks so elegant.
my point exactly simple and elegant
Awesome! What new ones do you have?
He Spoke Style
2013 SS Daytona black face
2019 DJ 41 two tone everose (Wimbledon), fluted with oyster bracelet
I owned a Rolex 16013, & it kept impeccable time! Best watch I’ve owned by far!
The Cellinis are nice but a bit boring and not the great history that other Rolexes have imho :(
I would probably prefer a JLC or Patek...
Great video! I hope to buy a Datejust one day
I came across my first Rolex by chance about 6 years ago.
Very helpful, Brian. Although a Rolex is out of my price range, this type of video format is great. Please do more of these.
Congrats! You'll love it.
The hunt is part of the excitement. Good luck finding that perfect Sub for you!
Is not complete without a PP

Congratulations! Wear it in good health. That's a great choice.
Nice to see someone being truthful to them selfs, rather than just saying buy a 40+mm watch lol. Nice video and nice watch :)
Thanks, Daniel. Appreciate the comment and support.
That Datejust you have is gorgeous
Thanks so much. Very pleased with the choice I made.
Just put my name on the wait list at a AD. We talked for ages and had a connection. Hopefully I get the Datejust! Love this watch.
My dad has the Rolex submariner 16610 Kermit green 🐸 and I absolutely love it
Nice! That's highly sought-after.
Hillary actually wore an Oyster Perpetual on Everest and the Explorer was produced to commemorate that event.
Good clarification. Thanks.
Actually, Hillary didn’t wear the Rolex... But the OP was on the expedition.
Actually, Hillary did not go on that expedition, it was his shadow clone.
It was an explorer prototype but it did say osyter perpetual
Just bought my first Rolex for my 50 th birthday. Always said I wanted one. I love the Datejust. I’m so happy with my choice. No regrets.
My first and only Rolex I purchased is the exact same as yours. It has been my favorite watch since I was a little kid and knew I had to have one.
Amazing! Thanks so much for the comment!
Also went with that same DJ for my first. Such a classic and absolutely love it, but sometimes I find it a bit too dressy with jeans a tshirt especially with the jubilee and fluted bezel. What are your thoughts?
@@mattp3471, I feel it can for sure be casual with jean and a t shirt. I have done it before, though not often.
I’m in the ballpark of getting ready to buy my first luxury watch. I have it narrowed down to either a Rolex, breitling, or a tag. I’m one of the ones that’s in the ‘i want the long term investment, something I can pass down’.
boutta flex on the whole block 💪💪💪💰💰💰💰💸💸💸💸⏱⏱⏱

Just ordered my first Rolex. Datejust 41 dark rhodium dial, oyster bracelet. Can't wait to get it on my wrist.
Check out the pre-owned options at Crown & Caliber: bit.ly/2qWFwMr
And remember that if you do pull the trigger with them, you can save $150 with HSS150! Cheers and good luck. Let me know how you make out.
I just bought my first watch - An Oyster Date 34mm with a white face. Simple, clean, classic and I love it! Great video.
Thank you!
You're very welcome! You're definitely a budding "watch guy" if you're eyeing the Milgaus!
7:02 so rainbow daytona is a no-go then? 😂 also I stupidly rushed into my first Rolex purchase and somehow lucked out and ended up with an explorer. Couldn’t be happier now. Won’t do it again tho.
Haha! Not for this guy! Well, you could have done a lot worse than that Explorer. Good pick!
That watch is covered in the “Buying your Seventh Rolex” video
I bought my first new Rolex almost 40 years ago....a Steel Submariner....
Since then I've purchased several more.
The Datejust 36 & 41 are the coolest of the bunch.
I have a new 2018 Blue/Red-GMT....but I don't love it more than my simple Datejust.....or my Explorers....
Thanks!
Sounds like quite a collection! Bow to the Crown!
Picking up my Datejust 36 in two days. Thought I wanted a Sub, but fell in love with this one right away when I tried it on. It just fits me perfectly, perfect weight, and looks super classic....can't wait!
Awesome! Great choice. You won’t be disappointed.
I’m thinking the classic DateJust with the Jubliee Bracelet will be my first as well.
Should I buy a house or a Rolex? Thank you for making that decision easier. Rolex is it!
LOL
😂😂😂
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the MAMACOO, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
The explorer for me for sure.
An awesome choice. Such a perfect watch.
I just bought one im so excited for it. First rolex and first real watch if you would
Nice watch. The option 2 you gave, was my decision too...the date just 41 mint green...
Brian, great channel, love your content. It’s hard to find good quality, keep it up.
Thanks so much! Glad you found it.
I just bought my first Rolex 3 days ago, I paid $2800 for a Gold and Stainless 16233 Datejust black face diamond dial, I bought it cause I feel I deserved it an always wanted to own one, and it was just profit on 2 sales so won't regret it.
The explorer II in white(especially white) or black face is my favorite Rolex and I'm picking one up soon. Great choices!
Excellent! Very underrated. Good choice.
Thanks
Indeed. Check out Crown and Caliber and tell them I sent you!
@@hespokestyle Thanks, will do.
I chose a white gold day date 2 as my first Rolex.
Well done. And congrats!
Very useful !
Thoughts on the gold and Champaign Day Date?
Hot.
Loved this, Brian. Thanks for sharing. Great content.
Thanks, Josh. Appreciate the support.
I like that you can choose a watch to show what type of person you are.
I really love the Sky Dweller... that is actually another fine option between sporty and classic
Good video. Remember women also buy Rolex. I kindly suggest to include models for both men and women in the images. Thank you.
this one was my first rolex! exelent choice and great taste!!
Great choice!
Your presentation is as classy as the Datejust.
Yup. Bow to the crown. I guess more to the point, it will hold its value more some other options.
My first rolex was a datejust. Still wear it daily, 1996 2 tone jubilee
howmuch was it? thats my dream watch, im saving up for it right now
ben shapiro got it from flawless jewellers in the bahamas. For 6,000$ at the time pre owned of course this was 2/3 years ago
I just got mine as well last week. 1989
2 tone jubilee with original rolex diamond bezel. box and papers. $5500
Pre owned with one owner.
Definitely a good choice.
i got the 36 black dial which i love, but kinda wish i got the blue dial. check them out side by side and you decide
This was such a great primer for anyone looking for a rolex such as myself. Nice one, man!
In India, perpetual means self adjustment of date like 30, 31, 28 and 29 in leap year.
Known as perpetual calendar.
I'd love a follow up or future video (or comment) about the maintenance required to keep your Rolex ticking over. Was this something you considered when making your purchase? Do maintenance costs differ over the different models?
Man, I try to go for other channels for more better styles and end up on his channel in the end. No words👌🏻👌🏻
I agree with your choices for 1st watches. My first was an Explorer. 👍
Great choice. And thank you so much for the comment.
Very nice explanation and thanks for guiding. Gonna buy a rolex someday
Very insightful, thanks man!
You're very welcome, Dineth.
Prefect timing Brian. I’m looking at purchasing a pre-loved date just for my 21st, great content as always.
That's great! Definitely recommend checking out Crown & Caliber. They're great folks and we can save you a little bit if you pull the trigger with them. Good luck and check in with any questions! I've been there. It's exciting and scary at the same time.
Congratulations on your first Rolex and this amazing video thank you.
He Spoke Style Yes, thank you. That Jubilee is sharp. :)
Its been years now and still rocking it like a new watch. hehe
This definitely changes my mind about rolexes. Went in thinking Rolexes were stuffy, not very exciting... this made me think twice about the brand.
Great! Thanks so much for the comment and for keeping an open mind.
Great video. Very insightful and informative. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks, David. Glad it was helpful.
I always wanted to buy a Rolex..only because my father said it's the only watch brand i should buy.. although he only had a Seiko skx..i bought my first 116610lv 2 years ago..and told my son to only buy a Rolex too..😅
Nice! Congrats!
Not sure why everyone buys this one
The explorer stood out the most to
Me in terms of “type of guy” I am and seems like it fits me best but once again, needs to appreciate.
Any tips I will be SUPER thankful.
i think you should do a watch collection you have some classic watches.
In the pipeline.
This is advice for people who don't care about watches, but just know they want a Rolex.
If you are in the same position and find yourself wanting to buy a Rolex, my advice is to do yourself a favour and research beyond the brand alone. Why sell yourself short, there are lots of options out there and while probably 90% of all people might end up buying that Rolex, you made that choice knowing what else is out there and will therefore be able to enjoy it more.
woah, your choice is also my choice for rolex! datejust white/silver 36...love it
Great minds?
Mine too.. l love your choice..
As is mine!
What a great video, appreciate the tips. Am currently on my research phase and hope to make a decision soon. This is really helpful. Thank so much and keep it up.
Edmund Hillary was wearing an Oyster Perpetual on Mt. Everest. After that Rolex made the Explorer line of it. Thanks.
Thanks, Sebastian. Appreciate you and a few others pointing out that error. Cheers.
Just got my first Rolex, DateJust, blue face last week, waited a year for it. Next year, I'll be getting my second.
Thanks for sharing and I agree with your sentiment on the Explorer I. That's what i ultimate went with.
You're very welcome. It's such a great watch. I would love to add a 1016 to my collection one day.
Its just priced so out of reach for many of us that 1016 haha
@@hespokestyle that 1016 is beautiful but the 114270 is better for me
