Downtown L.A. is a great place to buy a Rolex at or near wholesale if you’re lucky. Regardless, no matter what you’re looking for, it can be found across the street from Pershing Square.
Folks if you want a Rolex to wear with your suit buy to day date or date just steel or two tone. Once you have the watch wear it with a black or brown strap to match shoes and belt. All other models have a sporty purpose in their name which arent suited for dress attire. The day date or date just are sporty where you can go golfing but are versatile due to their look to go with your suit.
I want to purchase 2 Rolex watches and pass them down to my children as items that will increase in value later on. Which of these watches would have that effect? I’ve only known about the Oyster but it was from Vietnam era and todays value is somewhere north of 250k. What Rolex can I buy today that will increase in value later if stored properly?
Most people who have no interest in the Milgauss have never had their mechanical watch movement become magnetized. It destroys the timekeeping of the watch and is not easily fixed.
It’s entry level as far as watches that could be an investment (potential to go up in value). He has a video where they explain that sub $5K watches are unlikely to appreciate.
Entry level is Casio. Omega and seiko are entry into long lasting, well marketed, well running mechanical watches. Not worse than Rolex by any stretch. Rolex is expensive because everything is made in-house and they spend a lot on marketing.

Basically no Rolex is gonna win awards for uniqueness, but all told getting something like a vintage Air King at 34mm would be pretty unique and would be quite classy on a leather strap. The steel sports are of course basically impossible to get as a first Rolex without paying a huge markup or having an uncle who's a dealer or something...

I just came across your video. I dont have a rolex yet. It has to catch my eye. Just like when I got my citizen watch. I was with the sales woman. She asked, which one would you like to see. I walked and looked at the watches and told her. I want that one. It was the only one that caught my eye. So, guess what. I bought it. So, it has to catch my eye and I might buy it.
Completely agree with your remarks regarding the optimum watch size. For me the sweet spot is between 36mm and 40mm. Looking to purchase the Rolex Explorer 39mm, which will nicely complement my Datejust 36mm.
I am coming considering purchasing a Rolex. As I’m only 18 and a an avid watch enthusiast with a collection already I don’t know if it fits in with my other Cartier, Longines, and Seiko timepieces.

My favorite Rolex is easily the Daytona Green Dial. I bought it around 1 1/2 ago because I felt that after a decade of the combination between hard work and smart work, I deserved to buy something a little extra. I bought it for 38 000 dollars at a very fine retailer here in New York, and just about a week or two ago a friend of mine who just so happens to be a jeweler said that I could sell it for at least 45 000 without any hardship.
