hi how many washers should there be on the top pulley holding the pulley on is the one small washer that goes on first to fill the small gap on the end of the shaft ?thanks so much for your time .
Hi Josh, Thank you! Glad you like the video. If the belt is destroyed completely there is normally a reason. This can be: - Seized idler(s) - Oil contamination - Loose or worn top pulley - Rusty bottom pulley Line up: - Bottom pulley so mark is at 11 o’clock - Top pulley so mark is at 11 o’clock - Straight edge should be able to be passed through the 10 mm nut and line up with top and bottom pulley - Rotate engine on kickstart a few turns to ensure it runs flush with outer edge of top pulley but does NOT overhang it. Should be good to go! Hope this helps. Force
Not entirely necessary on these engines as valve collision cannot normally occur on 348 and 504 motors. If you lock up the motor with the TDC locking bolt, it will be tempting to use that resistance to undo bottom pulley nut, and strip out its threads. Then you will have a catastrophe......
Now that we've Tortured ourself watching your video repeatedly repeatedly repeatedly.Maybe you could give us a little more clarification on setting the timing on this on our 605.Maybe some verbal I don't mean to sound like an a**, but I'm worried we're dealing with a bike that needs a timing belt and we really like to information. We can't seem to find Anywhere else.So you seem to have it so we appreciated very much if you would give it to us
Great video hopefully its the same on the rotax 604 bc they look identical
helpfull vid ,is the timing the same on the 560 motor ,many thanks .
Can the clutch be adjusted mine is biting when I put in gear 🤔
Thank you! This helps alot.
hi should there be a small washer that goes into the top pulley before the big main washer ??many thanks ,

Sorry for the late reply - we need to check our comments more frequently! Did you get one in the end?

Great video. Any links or tips for if the belt is destroyed? Or just line up the pulleys individually?

@@forcemotorcyclesUK could you do a video about the clutch replacement? Thanks!
shouldnt you also change the idlers when you change the belt?
great video though
there is a bolt at the bottom that locks the crank in its proper place
i always use it... screw ups cost money Dave wd8cyv
Thought the 11 o clock business was a bit hit and miss, surely an odd tooth out would make a lot of difference to engine performance...
@@ideyboo i was thinking just the same.
This doesn't seem very accurate
How to gearbox and engine oil change ??
Frame on top one bolt on bottom
A clear case wud be coo. I gota 605ds. Doin the top end

Thanks!
Then what is the proper way of undoing the bottom pulley nut?
Wat about the 604 motor
That was easy!
