Replacing the Centre Stand Spring on a Harley Davidson MT350
This is a quick video in response to a few requests we have recently received. It shows fitting hints for the task of fitting a new centre stand spring on a Harley Davidson MT350.
This particular bike had no engine, but realistically the job is the same.
In fact, it had no footpeg either, which is sometimes another leverage point when fitted.
Note the the First Aid Kit strategically placed, it can be a knuckle bashing task - you may need it!!
If you do need any more assistance, drop us a message via our website.

Checking for Wear on a Top Pulley - Rotax 348, 504, 560 and 604 Engine
มุมมอง 3.4K7 ปีที่แล้ว
How to check for wear on a Top Pulley. Applicable to Rotax 348, 504, 560 and 604 engines. When replacing the Cam Belt (280-015) on one of the Rotax 348/504/560/604 engines, it is important to check the condition of the aluminium 30 Tooth Camshaft Pulley (253-025). It might look serviceable, but the profile of the teeth may have worn. Whilst they might look a reasonable match for the old belt (i...

Tom, what an awesome trip it looks like you had! Can't wait to see the whole tour video! Let's grab a beer and catch up!
Lose the background music, please! I'd much rather hear the motorcycle!
Great video.......
incredible, thanks
Great video. Any links or tips for if the belt is destroyed? Or just line up the pulleys individually?
Hi Josh, Thank you! Glad you like the video. If the belt is destroyed completely there is normally a reason. This can be: - Seized idler(s) - Oil contamination - Loose or worn top pulley - Rusty bottom pulley Line up: - Bottom pulley so mark is at 11 o’clock - Top pulley so mark is at 11 o’clock - Straight edge should be able to be passed through the 10 mm nut and line up with top and bottom pulley - Rotate engine on kickstart a few turns to ensure it runs flush with outer edge of top pulley but does NOT overhang it. Should be good to go! Hope this helps. Force
@@forcemotorcyclesUK could you do a video about the clutch replacement? Thanks!
Not entirely necessary on these engines as valve collision cannot normally occur on 348 and 504 motors. If you lock up the motor with the TDC locking bolt, it will be tempting to use that resistance to undo bottom pulley nut, and strip out its threads. Then you will have a catastrophe......
You could do a video about the clutch replacement? Thanks!
Then what is the proper way of undoing the bottom pulley nut?
Wat about the 604 motor
there is a bolt at the bottom that locks the crank in its proper place i always use it... screw ups cost money Dave wd8cyv
Thought the 11 o clock business was a bit hit and miss, surely an odd tooth out would make a lot of difference to engine performance...
@@ideyboo i was thinking just the same. This doesn't seem very accurate
shouldnt you also change the idlers when you change the belt? great video though
very good helped me
