This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new Infiniti QX60 mid-size, three-row luxury SUV. The QX60 is a big seller for Infiniti, which makes this new 7-passenger SUVan important model in their lineup. Gone is the CVT, Infiniti has moved to a 9-speed automatic transmission with improved torque delivery and response, it shifts quickly and smoothly. The 3.5L V6 engine with 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque is carried over from the previous model. Standard AWD in Canada but both FWD and AWD options on all four trims in the US.This Infiniti has improved fuel economy, an upgraded suspension and steering, a quieter cabin, a more comfortable drive, less body roll and standard towing capacity of 3500 pounds. The top two trims can tow 6,000 pounds, which is enough to tow a 22-foot Airstream. The QX60 has a bold front bumper, black grille, unique digital piano key LED headlights and is the first Infiniti to offer two-tone styling with an available all-black roof. The rear features an all-new wrap around glass treatment creating a clean and simplistic design. Our test model is the Sensory trim, one below the top trim. It comes with 20” alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, chrome accents, silver roof rails, a motion activated liftgate and a panoramic sunroof. The QX60 offers an inviting and warm cabin with a saddle brown leather interior and a black open pore ash wood trim in our test model. Infiniti says, every detail of the QX60’s interior was well thought out including, the placement of its controls to make it a user-friendly experience. Infiniti embarked on a global two-year study to find the most pleasing materials at touch points and brought those surfaces and textures into this SUV. The zero gravity seats with an available massage feature in the front row are comfortable and plush for long trips and the second row has a standard bench seat, available captain’s chairs. The QX60 offers more passenger space now, the hip to heel room has increased with an extra 1.5” in the second row and almost half an inch in the third for a more natural seating position. Getting into the 3rd row is easy with a one touch second row and you don't have to remove your car seat, the seat pitches and slides forward. There’s 14.5 cubic feet of space behind the 3rd row and you also get 1.91 cubic feet of under floor storage. The QX60 comes with a redesigned infotainment system with a 12.3” touchscreen. The display can also be controlled at the centre console. The base trim offers plenty of standard features if you don’t want to make the stretch to the higher trims including, a panoramic sunroof, power liftgate, leather seats, driver seat memory, power driver and passenger seats, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, wireless Apple Carplay and wired Android Auto. One up from the base model is the Luxe my “best value” trim, it gets you the 12.3” digital driver display, ProPilot Assist with Navigation and 20” wheels. In the US, you also get ventilated front seas on this trim. The top two trims come with head up display, motion activated liftgate, heated second row seats, ventilated front seats (Canada), a wireless charger and Bose sound system. The top trim has captain’s chairs with a removable centre console and perforated quilted seats with contrast stitching.

Infiniti looks like it’s waking back up from the dead. QX60 appears promising, updated, luxurious, and bulky. The infotainment system is user friendly with its touchscreen. Its interior is spacious and modern with the technology; though the trunk space could be improved like the MDX but that storage space beneath is still good. This vehicle honestly looks like a love child between a Range Rover and a Lexus. We’ll have to wait to see how well this luxury vehicle scores with car reviewers like Edmunds. Wonder how well its engine reliability will be as well. Nonetheless, this is a great step forward for Infinti. Great review as always you two!

Love you guys! Just get a CX9 Signature… nicer interior, every option etc. considering it was first sold in 2016 it’s still relevant today and compares well with these. When the new CX-90 shows up and if priced right maybe the one to get. Anyway I ordered a CX9 Signature and getting it in Sep 2022. Best value and luxury imo.

It seems like a great suv. I would pick it over my MDX BUT 2 things that are major negatives for me: 1. Premium fuel (wrong direction here, should be perhaps a hybrid suv). 2. No option to switch the chrome plaguing this SUV to black.

No need for premium fuel. As you stated, same engine. The ECU will account for the lower octane and make adjustments. I have 2 Infiniti's that "require" premium fuel. I use regular 90% of the time.

    • @Jeymez
      @Jeymez หลายเดือนก่อน

the Infiniti uses more premium materials for the engine,
      that's why premium is required.
now some might say, but if their based on the same platform,
      how can they be different.
when they say based on the same platform, or shared,
it doesn't mean what goes into each vehicle is the same.
there is a reason Infiniti is a recognized premium brand,
it's because the engine, the construction, the interior
all use higher grade materials, and that's why they cost more.
Nissan is a domestic manufacturer, and while they also
own Infiniti, you can't sell a Nissan vehicle for the same
      price as Infiniti.
okay so what are you getting, essentially Nissan and Infiniti
share similar platforms, but that only has to do with vehicle size,
      and similar performance use.
but the way Infiniti achieves those same numbers, is different,
and that's where you get into premium gas vs regular.
now some might say, Lexus says you can use regular in their cars,
yes but they will also tell you, premium fuel will improve the performance.
Lexus is a premium luxury brand, but what that means to each
brand is different. BMW's slogan is the ultimate driving machine,
those are marketing terms, but what that means is,
they wanna give you the most fun and best handling.
BMW builds most of their cars based on that, so their gonna use
the best parts for the engine, for the brakes, basically all the
      things you associate with BMW.
Lexus philosophy, was always about the pursuit of excellence.
so depending on how Lexus goes about it, some of their cars
won't require premium fuel, but some of their cars do require it.
well Infiniti on the other hand, always tried to be more like Acura,
and a little like BMW. most Acura's require premium gas,
and some don't, well Infiniti goes one step further,
most Infiniti's you come across do.
Nissan doesn't use anything high end, it's a domestic car brand,
so the engine is going to be less complicated, and easier to maintain.
but that's the cost of going premium, it's because reliability is not
the center focus. however that don't mean they can't be,
most of the Japanese premium brands are pretty good,
and Lexus is number 1 in reliability, but the German brands is where
      it can vary.

Looks like Infiniti did a pretty good job (mostly) with the QX 60.. but I am on the taller side (6'2").. I like a taller, higher roofline to improve outward visibility and good cabin room/comfort. The QX still looks like it has an (unfortunately) very low roofline. A lot of new SUV/CUV designs are going for a more boxy, higher roofline designs.. I think the QX may have missed the boat on this... If the Infiniti QX would have raised the roofline on the QX about 2" or 3" (for extra comfort and good visibility), I think this would have been MUCH better.

Great review. It is really a great comparison to Pathfinder. Whether the QX60 truly worth the premium over Pathfinder is the dealer service. Although there is some Infiniti dealer exists inside Nissan dealer floor, its the stand alone Infiniti dealer that will provide much better service than those of a Nissan. Premium service like loaner car provides for simple service like oil change, will definitely be the reason QX60 > Pathfinder. I have known a good friend who chose a Q3 over Tiguan because of Audi premium service, also their superior reliability. That's despite the showrooms are next door to each others. Guess if you are from Vancouver, you should know which dealer group I talked about.

I’ve driven both the MDX and QX60 recently and may not purchase either one but the MDX was better overall to me with the drive and handling.
Infiniti is still pulling the okie doke on consumers and reviewers. The platform is not updated Like many other brands. The car doesn’t have the double wishbone suspension or any other suspension upgrades like adaptive dampers etc and it shows during driving conditions.
The audio system didn’t get an advanced upgrade like many other manufacturers have upgraded to 3D etc.
Although I liked the 3 mode massage seats, the car has an 8 way power adjustment in the top trim and there was no thigh extender or side holster adjustments, which is unacceptable at $65K USD. Even the Accord Sport has more adjustment.
They did an excellent job on the interior, but giving them too much praise would diminish the great products other brands are bringing to the table.

I was not looking for a 3 row SUV (only driving 2 people around most times) but the QX55 disappoints and the QX60 is so much better. That exhaust styling is a detriment though. I'll probably hold out another year to see if that changes, or aftermarket part comes out. Perhaps a drop in price once too. Great car.

Im actually very surprised that Infiniti still exists as a brand. It's retail sales have been poor and its resale values have been terrible. Highly recommend leasing and not purchasing due to the abysmal resale. While it might not be the most exciting, I'd pick a Lexus RX for the money. Its a damn shame Infiniti was always so mismarketed in North America. Remember the weird initial advertising campaign for Infiniti in the 90s. They didnt even SHOW THE CAR in the television ads! Then, Carlos Ghosn banished Infiniti from product refreshes and said the brand was unnecessary and merely luxurious Nissans.... a damn shame.

Some 2023 models have bad fuel pumps.
Apparently Infiniti is looking into this issue and have not issue a recall.
IT IS A VERY CRITICAL PROBLEM, VERY ANNOYING TO SCARRY, ESPECIALLY WHEN ONE TRAVELS WITH THE FAMILY AND THE FUEL PUMP SUDDENLY STARTS TO MAKE A SHARP SOUND.
    7253 KMS,
I have counted more than 3 serious problems, and 11 bugs.
    This SUV is a CRAP.
Right exterior mirror wont unfold, he got stuck.
Right exterior mirror is shaking all the time,
Infiniti Canada does not offer a solution as of yet.
The illumination for the middle control panel (contains temperature controls etc) has a mind of its own. When headlights are on "auto" the panel illumination is sometimes bright, then switches to dim and will even switch off (so I can't see 90% of the controls!). These occurrences have nothing to do w changes in the outside/daylight/natural lighting.
    A/C fan sometimes stops working
    Noises on the roof.
Rearview mirror, when used as a mirror (not in Screen mode), it is impossible for a tall person to adjust the position.
    Hard suspension, unpleasant.
All commands including boot button ignition are slow, they all take more than 1 second to respond.
The seats in the Autograph model are quite uncomfortable, they feel like boosters.
The subwoofers are located in the doors, which is bad, because in the very near future, surely, the doors will start to make annoying noises, caused by the loosening of the different parts, due to the constant vibration of the 2 subwoofers.
Carplay, before hanging up a call, you have to remember to lower the volume, because otherwise, the next incoming call will sound with a ringtone at full volume.
The leather of the seats is deformed after a trip of more than 1 hour.
There are more problems, the problem is that there are so many that I don't remember the rest at the moment.

Real nice vehicle... love the exterior styling (except for the fake exhaust tips) and love the interior. The big disappointment is the engine... they should have used their 330hp 3.7L engine that they had on their M37/Q70... beautiful engine... They don’t look like exhaust finishers, rather they look like a continuation of the front chrome plates in the lower front front fascia. They are more subdued on the lesser trim levels. Either way…. MDX paint is razor thin, had to get the car painted after 3 years. engine is too small-the transmission is geared to compensate-noticeable and annoying. Radio+climate control combo is very clumsy and frustrating to use. Build quality is fine but the car is definitely overrated.

Much improved infotainment system! Thank god. Infiniti really missed the mark with the QX55 (sales wise)
In my opinion it’s likely not enough to save the brand as they have almost nothing in the works for the next couple of years. In Canada Nissan has already offered Infiniti dealership owners the opportunity to consolidate back into Nissan/Infiniti joint dealers as Infiniti sales are so poor these last couple of years. That’s a bad sign as in some articles, owners complained they were losing hundreds of thousands per year on their Infiniti dealerships. Infiniti is in worse shape than it may appear on the surface.

Finally a new infotainment system. It's about time Infiniti! How is this new infotainment system? And does this mean that we're going to see this new system in other newer products from Infiniti? Are there any fake outside plastic air ducts? Shame on you Infiniti for those fake exhaust tips. How good is the HUD (Head's up display)? i don't like quilted seats and door trim because I find it looks too much like a coffin...sorry. I do agree with you guys on this. I have a 2012 G37xS Coupe (Red) that I purchased new and then added a lot of performance mods and interior Carbon Fiber Trim; It's never seen any winters and is fun to drive. Our winter vehicle as you may remember guys is a 2018 Full optioned BMW X1 also with aftermarket wheels and tires for summer and performance parts with extras that we added to the interior. It has the executive package which surprisingly wasn't available in the US and has thicker glass and adjustable dampers and park assist and ICC (intelligent Cruise Control and adjustable rear seats. I think we will keep this until the EVs come out and are competitive in price. I think BMW invented the SUV with the X5. The Climate controls in the QX60 uses haptic feedback like smartphones. From what I can see the BMW infotainment system is still superior. As you know Bimmers have 8 buttons on the dash that are programmable presets. I use the first button as my 40 favorite stations which include Sirius XM, AM and FM. The Infotainment wheel controls everything without lag and I also save my home address on another button. I use another button as a speed dial list. The advantage of having a home address saved in the button is that you can find your way home from anywhere quickly without going through the whole navigation menu. The media screen in the Bimmer is really quite good too. The navigation combined with the display in the dash and HUD is really good and I haven't seen much better yet and certainly from your video here Infiniti still had a way to go. I have an Android phone and I'm not a fan of the intrusiveness of Android Auto. I find it slows your phone and nav down and I can't comment on Apple Car Play. Great review you guys and as usual your production quality is A1. You guys are lucky you're not in Montreal...the weather here is awful. So cold that car batteries are freezing! I hope that Infiniti brings out a new sports car with a completely new platform, the current platform has been around since 2008!

This new one is by far an improvement of the last QX, no comparison. I love what it looks like (save those ridiculous fake exhaust tips), I like the size and the interior design is so much nicer. The Acura’s over styled and complicated interior is it’s major weak point. So between the two... I’d go with the Infiniti. I think they’ve nailed it.
