I absolutely love this Bible…I even took a fountain pen to it in my review which I think some people about had a heart attack when they saw that. I am impressed with the paper. I’d love to see them do a large print edition of this one, it would be a large Bible but I’d be ok with that. Great review my friend 👍🏻
Great review, thank you ! Was looking for a Bible to take notes and record my thoughts prayers as I study the word. Love that it has two ribbons. God bless
I'm used to my Journal The Word NKJV. I like to be able to have my notes next to the text, and the light lines help things look more tidy and orderly, to my eye anyway. I also write (some would say) quite tiny, so I can squeeze two lines of notes within the space allowed. I'm also a pencil user, though several others speak against it. I have had to break out my trusty eraser too many times to correct my errors to change my habit though! :)
Wow, Randy Brown saying "this is one of my favorite layouts ever" 😄 This HAS to be a great Bible!!! Great review my brother 🙏🏽 That ESV looks great as well, especially as I see it has bold verse numbers (something I love in a Bible but not everyone does). I kinda like the 9pt font of the NKJV, though. And yes, I would prefer a bit more opacity in the paper but overall I really love this Bible! More than I thought I would, really. Simple, yet beautiful and functional.
Thanks for the review! I just bought mine (early birthday present from my husband) . I’m so looking forward to seeing it in person! I’m going to use it for my journaling starting in January (my birthday month). I want to color code mine as well, I have a tab punch to make for my new Bible. I’m new to journaling of 6 months. I’m excited! 👏
I’ve just purchased this bible after watching your review, I’m really looking forward to having extra space to take notes, and the fact that it’s red letter is just so much more special.
The layout is amazing and I'd say the NKJV has the best layout of any Bible I've ever seen. They get the layout right. I'd prefer the ESV Journal Bible for the fact that it is all black letter and I can't read the red letters. I notice the vast majority of TN and Zondervan Bibles tend to be red letter Bibles. They don't make Bibles for me and other people who can't see or read red letters. I love the NKJV translation a whole lot but finding an affordable black letter NKJV is like finding needle in a haystack. Most of my life I've been using the NKJV and it ws generally a red letter edition, but overtime I've been seeing the red letter less and less so I quit using red letter Bibles. It's much easier to find black letter editions in the ESV so I find myself using it a lot more.
@@nikkigetman1450 Thank you for responding. To get a response directly from someone at TN is an absolute honour. The McLaren Series looks good, I'll try it. My only hope is that TN would have separated the footnotes from the cross references. Searching for a particular footnote crammed among all those wonderful cross references is such a daunting task I give up on it. I understand that the NKJV Single Column Wide Margin Reference Bible set to release this November will be done this way, with the references in the gutter margin and the footnotes at the bottom of the page. I just hope their will be an all black letter edition. The NKJV has the best set of footnotes I know about, which is what makes it the most important translation in my humble opinion. Also, what I'd love to see TN make is a NKJV Bible without references but has the full set of footnotes, something like what Crossway does with their thinline Bible. No references just translation footnotes and it's their full suite of footnotes too.
@@nikkigetman1450 Your most welcomed. As someone who does not live in the United States, getting good Bibles aren't as easy (I live in Jamaica), so when your favourite translation isn't accessible, you try to reach out to the publisher.
I was looking for a review for this Bible but the one that has the genuine leather cover I have yet to find one for it that’s as thorough as this review God bless
I've been wanting this bible, looked up interleaved a long time ago as my replacement for wide margin, as beautiful as it is for ESV. Crossway really needs to step up their game when it comes to font size on these. I personally am a fan of 9-12 point for bibles depending on the font and this looks beautiful. It's probably the biggest interleaved font on the market for studying. Go big or go home is the way I would put it. Do you know what the normal cover will look like after this limited run is done?
All I want in life is a goat skin KJV Red letter, center column reference bible with book introductions... Apparently that is the hardest thing on planet earth to find.... closest I found is from Thomas Nelson, except it is missing red letters. Website says it has it, but it does not.
QUESTION....For those who use an interleaved Bible: Does it help your note taking to use an extra sheet of paper underneath the blank sheet as you write? Lined or unlined? Thanks !!
Hi Randy. Does Thomas Nelson make a version of this with rounded corners and perhaps gold page edges? I am wanting to acquire one of these and get it rebound. It looked like they do have a leather version of this on Amazon, I just could not tell if the leather version had the rounded corners and page edge gilding.

You might like the Maclaren series. It’s black letter with blue highlights.

Great review as always. Definitely want one of these.
I’d love to see them release a KJV interleaved Bible. Maybe you could put in a word for it, Randy 😉
I'd love this too! I'll mention it to them.

I bought this before it was released. My one thing is I wish the paper was different. It’s very thin…

As far as I know, only the hardcover has sharp corners and round edges.
I like this Bible. Does it come in verse by verse?
Hey Randy, I’ve been looking for this Bible recently. I know it’s out of print, but do you know of any place that might still have one?
I haven't seen one. Sorry.
Is this good for writing scriptures?
Yes, it's great for that.
Yay!!!
Where can I get this bible can't find it
Unfortunately, it's out of print. I recommend checking eBay or the Bible groups on Facebook. The Bible Exhange on FB is a good option.
