    Your video convinced me to get the large print rather than the handy sized despite my aversion to big bibles. But it does look like a Bible that I will be reading often.

    I can’t wait for the Esv in the handy size to come out. I love the Thompson Chain Bibles. You read way more scripture using the chain system than you normally would. At least for me that’s how it’s been.

    Can You please provide a KJV bible for me. I don't have a bible. I can't afford to buy it. But I'm very thirsty to read it. From India.

    I bought 1 each of the black and brown KJV. I bought a brown NKJV regular size Bible, in brown, for cross study, just because I loved the look of the brown.

    I have a Thompson chain reference Bible King James Version the first church I went to gave to me for Christmas it is a fifth improved Edition 28th printing printed in September 2010. It is a really wonderful Bible I love it a lot I really only use it for the references because I'm not that good at reading so why use audio Bibles so I used what I'm able to of the references.

    Excellent review as always. The Thompson Chain has been a personal favorite of mine since 1986. I have a Church Bible Publishers KJV large print Ironed Calfskin, so will check out your ESV and NKJV reviews.

      Be aware that the comfort print does NOT have the archeological section (they removed it) and does not have self-pronouncing text. The reasons I stayed away from it.

      I call it "Words of Christ in Neon Pink", but that doesn't have the same ring. I'm glad that's the ONE thing Zondy didn't keep.

    I can't read any of these on the camera unlike the Cambridge KJV s which has very good and legible print and I can read it on your camera but I don't think that I would ever buy something which is too light to read.

    I would hope they release these in more premium covers next year. My bonded leather nasb from 10years ago is really beat up. Would love a calfskin or even goatskin.

    Had two Thompson chains stolen in the last two months. Need to get a new one, but I refuse to buy online. I live in Los Angeles. Highlighting with about a dozen different colors greatly aids my retention and understanding. Example Devil violet, green promises, yellow the law, blue northern tribes, brown whosoever, mustard secular law, pink priests, orange god manifesting, purple chronology

      Sorry to hear about your Thompsons. I"m sure you have better stores than we do here in East TN, but I've seen them at Books-a-Million and B&N.
      Highlighting is great for improving retention. I love your highlighting system!! Thanks for sharing.

      Online books risk defects, had a bible with the corner over trimmed, you are correct I should have also shopped for mine in a physical location.

    Hey Randy, I like this Bible review, I have two TCR bibles, (one is my pastors 1964 TCR, and mine is a handy size bonded leather) but pretty good review!

      I agree, the paper and print is amazing. Also I just went out and bought me a regular size brown leathersoft, and it is very floppy. (I like floppy Bibles a lot.)

    Is the Thompson Chain reference about the same as the Westminster large-print with all of the 100,000 or 200,000 reference is?

      Yes, all translations will be available in large print when they're released in the new Comfort Print editions.

    What is the font size on the Soft-leather Brown one?

  • @larryg9137
    @larryg9137 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Brother, several times you mentioned that the Thompson Chain Reference Bible was MADE IN THE USA. I own one of the new Large Print KJV Thompson's, and it says that the Bible was printed in China, which might be one reason for documented misspellings found in the text, but there could be other factors that caused this. Most people buy a Bible for the text primarily. I am not surprised about these misspellings, just sad.

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Correct. The edition in this review was made in USA using the Kirkbride files. The Comfort Print was a re-typsetting that came out later and was made in China.

  • @Pastor-Brettbyfaith

    How long do you think it will take zondervan to change the layout of the text? I can’t read serif font.

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The updates start next year, but they haven't officially announced the KJV release date.

    • @fnjesusfreak

      All the Comfort Print fonts are serif fonts, but they're not as hard on the eyes as...this looks like Century, which is frankly a poor choice. Even the 3rd and 4th Kirkbride editions used better fonts.
      My understanding is we should start seeing the 6ED TCR around next May or June.

  • @julianj7d374
    @julianj7d374 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thanks Randy. Those wrinkles in the center of the bind have been on every TCR bible I have opened, even on my 45 year old KJV version and my 40 year old NIV version, not sure why but they are annoying. Hope they are not in the new versions coming out in 2022 without the lines in comfort print. That will be a huge disappointment. If those new versions turn out to be high quality, the NKJV version will be my new study bible. Hope they make it in NKJV although I could tolerate an ESV.

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Julian. The new editions will not have those wrinkles. They do plan to do the NKJV. I don't know the release date for that one, though.

    • @Mb2IseeU
      @Mb2IseeU ปีที่แล้ว

      My ESV Study Bible with Cowhide cover has that wrinkling at the binding too and it drives me nuts although I love the content. I really want a NKJV TCR without the wrinkling

      These use the Kirkbride files. The only difference is the red letter is a darker shade.
