- The ALL NEW C300 is here and Mercedes Benz has brought some major changes for 2022. On the outside you will notice a slightly larger sedan with all news sheet metal and lighting. On the inside you will be greeted by a full leather interior, 11.9in infotainment screen, and digital gauge display. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 that produces 255HP & is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2022 Mercedes Benz C300 a BETTER luxury sedan than a BMW 330i?

@@Chad_Max Most people nowadays find screens to be very needed. The bigger they are, the more expensive and luxurious it looks. Just look at all the newer luxurious Mercedes. If people like those screens, then they will like this car over the competition.

Based on your reviews, I went out & purchased a gorgeous red Mercedes C class c 300. It’s a 2020 model that has only 9000 miles on it. I just brought it home 3 days ago and I’m absolutely loving it! Coming from a 4 wheel drive SUV world, yep., that’s right! Up until 3 days ago I was a lifted Jeep guy! It’s a big change for me, but now that I’m older, 58 years, I no longer venture out into the mountains of Arizona. So now I’m beating the heat in the climate controlled, ventilated seats of a luxurious C300!

Mercedes does offer a Panoramic Sunroof ($1,000), Ventilated Seats ($450) and USB Ports ($300) as optional equipment on this model.
Just got this car and it is SO much fun (I don’t get the exhaust on the bottom though). Mirrors do fold, just have to toggle it in the infotainment. For some reason it’s not on by default. Great review!

How much are you paying in this market?
@@jakedeane3003 Got pretty lucky with a couple of things. Had a trade in vehicle (which in this market netted a good profit to put towards the car), negotiated out of any dealer markup. At pinnacle trim with some other options the car priced out to just under 50k. Dealership experience was pretty amazing.

I love your reviews because you capture so much about the cars. I have a 2019 C300 that I still love. Drove all the competitors, and what it came down to was what car would I most want to drive 6 hours, on highways and byways, to visit family. It was a surprise that is was the Merc, fake exhaust pipes and all. In the end it’s all subjective-what weird things does each person prioritize?-and these reviews provide good insight, regardless of what the priorities might be.

I wasn't a fan of this style interior when the new W223 S Class debuted but funny enough it seems to work very well in the C Class. All of the compact luxury cars from Germany, Japan or the US are great cars. You can't make a bad choice.
This is my favorite Mercedes-Benz sedan.

I looked at a bmw 850i recently and I loved the car, but the screen inside is small, and my 2021 merc E53 wagon screen and nav etc blows it away in that regard, and for me thats a big deal. mercedes has done a great job with their interiors

Not gonna lie, I actually prefer the BMW 3 Series (Specially the updated one!) But I really like how the interior of this says "Small S-Class" 🙌✨

W205 cabriolet owner here, not excited for the W206 however I will be watching Raiti for the CLE review! Good review on this one, entry lux is a tough segment, lots of great choices.
I almost ordered this car but then feel like I need more a muscle car. I went ahead ordering a Camaro 2023 2ss for around $9k cheaper. If you want more a luxury car, this is a good choice. I already have a 2014 e350 so the Camaro can be a good complementary.
For that size and price. You basically paying for the name Mercedes-Benz.

57k and no connections in back seat is unacceptable. They need to add more items as standard features instead of making you pay extra for basic features. Right now the 300 is the only model & planned next step up is going to be a 400hp C43.
I don't see any door handles on the inside part of the doors. How would you pull the doors to close?

I thought you were going to say the competitors were BMW 3 series and Audi A4. In my area, people only cross shop among the 3 German brands. Genesis is cross shopped against Acura, Lexus and Infiniti.

I agree Raiti, the fake exhaust are a no-no, especially for a Mercedes. Even Hyundai/Kia give you vented seats for less than 57K! Buy; shortlist; avoid? Avoid!
I remember why I unsubbed. Complaining about fake vents and exhausts, wanting ever single car to have a panoramic sunroof, and then ripping an inline 4 cylinder like it's a sports car.

All that soft touch material for a 57k top trim? Where's the leather dash and doors? Aside from the digital dash/infotainment this is pretty underwhelming for what you're paying.
They should add panoramic sunroof but also offer the small sunroof option different strokes for different folks
Amazing video Joe the best on youtube! C300 interior is miles ahead of my 2022 BMW 330e, BUT when I drove the C300 theres no comparison to the BMW esp the power of the 330e. It was an easy driving decision, but the C300 looks nicer with $10k in upgrades!

Nice car overall, but there's no reason why a classic luxury brand should not have front air intakes, real exhaust (a big zonk for me, and the design is so cool), ventilated seats, and rear connectivity nowadays.
When I Kia Forte gets ventilated seats at 25K and so many so-called luxury cars don't something is wrong.
The lack of ventilated seats in particular on a luxury brand, especially a higher trim level of a luxury brand, is a big zonk.

@@geoculus5606 Then stay away from MB and BMW. They don’t package cars like almost all other makers where you get, for example, SE, LE, XLE trim etc and then there’s relatively limited “options” beyond that. MB and BMW package a few things, but a lot is individual add ons. They REALLY add up too. That’s why you’ll see these starting prices around $40k but you look at one on a lot and it’s $55k or higher. But you can get a relatively base one that’ll make you wonder where a lot of the luxury is lol. Fake leather, lack of power seats for passenger and, or driver. No sunroof. Base stereo and on and on. I personally think that the best way to buy one of these brands is to go used. Just be sure to check it’s history and warranty or lack thereof lol. Parts and labor on these cars can be insane.

I really like the consideration that Mercedes has given to the ergonomics of this cool sedan, particularly with the infotainment system. If I were in the market, this is one I'd definitely consider. Thanks, Joe.
Overall I was slightly disappointed with the new C-Class. Buttons have been replaced with capacitive buttons, interior quality actually went down, and future AMG versions will only have 4 cylinders…

There are tons of complaint of the PCV issue on mb engine. dealer quote $2k for the repair. It happens around every 40k miles. good luck.

Having owned both Mercedes and BMW...BMW is more bang for your buck. Nowadays you're just paying for the Mercedes brand. 55k+ and you're getting fake air vents, fake exhaust, unimaginative rear end, and an interior that doesn't know what it wants to be a Tesla, Audi, or a rave party with all that ambient lighting. Been wanting to love the new Mercedes but this is not it.

I know it is a Mecedes, but it is a bit expensive. No ports, no exhaust, no ventilated seats... way too many add on options.

Watch at how Joe hits the menu bezel at 12:46 on the center stack. The entire housing depresses. This car is all flash and no substance. If I’m paying premium, the interior bits better fit well together.
It’s designed to act like one giant button when pressed but then the capacitive button does the actual selection.
My sister have a 2019 c300 in silver I drove it they are great cars.....

I really do like Mercedes approach to bringing many of their “ gimmicks” and tech to their other trim models especially the “lower / entry models …

That's true. A lot of manufacturers will kind of shame you for buying the entry level by giving you a lot less stuff, and a smaller screen, etc. I think they put alot of their party trick features into this car that people think you need a super expensive car for.

Definitely a better car than the 330i especially if you are looking at a better everyday usable car. BMW comes close but Benz is a level above. G70 is second place to the Merc but doesn't have the same badge appeal. G70 is good value for money though. Good review Joe.

The interior did take a downgrade this gen. Hard plastics all over below the waist level. Competition isn’t as bad.
Add fake exhaust and 4 banger only... I'll take a q50 anytime before

All cars need a 12 o clock steering wheel stripe it'll help save lives when the car snap oversteers to catch the slide. I had 2 nissan muranos and even they went sideways when I went 2 tires on dirt on a turn so I really mean all cars

so these do come with power folding mirrors n full open glass roof but it's on certain versions only and they do get up in price quickly lol ... up in north east the roads are really bad so the pinnacle trim one I had ran on 18s ( frnt 225/ 45 / 18 -- 245 / 40 /18 rear ) compared to my lowered amg this was butter ...

I have leased 3 C classes since: 2012, 2015 and 2017 and all three of my previous had better looking leather pattern on the seats. The new seat design is nice but the pattern stitch looks poor and bland.
Been waiting forever for you to review this car. Should’ve gone with AMG packet one it’s way nicer.

I forsee Lexus/Toyota moving into much of the traditional ground held by M-B & BMW. If their quality continues to slide, Lexus is the number 1 alternate for quality, followed by Acura/Honda.

JOE RAITI ~ it's me, your Italian brother from another mother. ever since Monkey Pox has spread I've noticed the grocery stores are out of bananas, lol. I got a show room condition CLK550 convertible - got a great trade in for my Mini Cooper S, the CLK drives or should I say floats like an actual luxury car > a nice change from rattling around in a go-kart. lol. ever since I owned a MG drop top I had promised myself - one day I will get another convertible, so I did - yay. the top hides inside the trunk so when it's down, the car looks like a big black roadster. the power is different - the Mini had the turbo & you could tell when you floored it that in a second you'd be flying, the Benz has a different type of power - you put the pedal down & it takes off, but the V8 in it is so sweet, because one second you're cruising at 30, 4o, then ya look down & you're flying at 95mph it's like HOLY MOLY - anyway now I'm a BENZ fan - ICONIC & like Porsche always evolving. tony

I wish there was a luxury car that didn't care about tech. Like old school luxury, only tech I care about is a great stereo system. No lane keep assist, no driverless tech, just quality materials focused on comfort.
Those are driver assistance features those aren't considered "luxury" since modern cars even mainstream manufacturers include those standard as it is expected, they can really help somebody that's not 100% focused on the road.

Mercedes needs to offer a non shiny interior option because some people drive 12 hours a day and the sun bounces off the shiny panels even the gloss black parts. McLaren race cars have no shiny stuff in the interior to remove any inch of shininess. Alcantara dashboard no sun glare and entire interior is anti glare and comfortable for people who drive long distance
