JJ Moberly depends how windy it is or how long a span they run .. when you are up in the trusses setting them you will know when it's sketchy and time to run a diagonal lol

so do the lateral and diagonal braces extend into the cavity of the brick and block or do they need cutting back to inside of the block work?
Inside the block work then you fit your anchor straps though.

Right. With trusses, there are no ridge boards required. In some cases, persons put a piece between the trusses.
