- Hope y'all enjoyed this as much as I did, here's the links to some of the videos edits I borrowed footage from (since they are not mine):
• The eleventh doctor be...
• The eleventh doctor be...
It's so refreshing to see a character with neurodivergent traits but 1) that not being the only character trait they have, and 2) the traits aren't mocked and made fun of.
Fr. Honestly that’s why I appreciate all the Doctors. All of them are very very neurodivergent while still being unique
Not to mention he wears the same clothes everyday 😂
Oh my gosh, TRUUUUUE! Is this a neurodivergent thing? Because consistency?
@@naomiserena920 Yeah it's typically paired with autism. It might be a sensory thing. I made the clothes connection yesterday and idk why but it completely blew my mind 😂
There's a million examples for why he probably has autism, but also both Clara and Donna have canonically told The Doctor he has ADHD :D
@@blueberrymuffinz He could have both, that does happen too lol
@@naomiserena920 Oh yeah, I fully headcanon him as having both lol
@@blueberrymuffinzhe was (not diagnosed. Another word. Peer reviewed?) by both Clara AND Donna?
What episodes. I must watch them.
I swear, every Doctor is autistic, adhd, or both... but 11 made it so adorable and charming, he's helped a lot of us see the good in our weirdness 😊
Or hyperactive
@@sheersternfeld1914hyperactive is part of ADHD
@@fandelapin2971 oh, wait, it is?
Well, that explains a few things.
@@sheersternfeld1914 yes, ADHD stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and you can be diagnosed with only attention deficit (ADD) only hyperactivity, or both. (ADHD) But in all cases, the hyperactivity is always in our heads, but not always visible by others, because we can mask our symptoms
Why do people have to force that autism stuff into everything and "diagnose" fictional characters, even those who, like the Doctor, are not human to begin with?
(Really, it's either "on the spectrum/neurodivergent" or "queer" nowadays 🙄)
"You've redecorated it! I don't like it!"
11th summoning his inner 2nd Doctor.
And 10th said that a couple of times too.
Troughton (The Second) said it first.
Never have I seen a change of emotion preceed so quickly...apart from this morning inthe mirror!
yes I noticed that.
11 is my favorite doctor because he's the closest to how i behave in real life. Sometimes i just find myself doing stuff and think "wait that's how the 11th Doctor would behave !"
Literally me!
I adore him.
His neurodivergence always skyrocketed whenever he was around Craig
Gotta balance
Amy: have you looked at the manual
Doctor: I threw it into a sun
Amy: why?
Doctor:I DISAGREED WITH IT!!!!
STOP TALKING TO ME WHILE IM CROSS
Every Doctor is autistic but 11 is the most autistic and thats why he's tied with 10 as my favorite
"Every Doctor" is not even human to begin with, so why assuming they have human neurological issues?
@@deavacui2825 The Doctor IS very anatomically similar to humans (excluding the two hearts and the probably very different brain) so something like autism (but isn't actually the same thing) probably exists in time lords
@@deavacui2825I mean he’s human adjacent, but I also think that several disorders like autism or ADHD aren’t specific to humans, any sentient creature who belongs to a society where there are norms and a specific way to conduct yourself with others and within that society it’s possible. He doesn’t seem to have very many physical differences to humans other than the binary vascular system, and even regeneration isn’t natural to him without the Timelords having given it to him. For all the tiny little things that make him different he’s close enough that it’s believable that he could have some neurodivergent traits.
But.. the most realistic real world answer is that Moffat coded him that way to be relatable AND people with Autism and ADHD see it and feel represented.
@@Vicioussnakeboyyes, exactly. I doubt galifreyans would call it “Autism” or use any terms that a human doctor or neurologist would use but they probably do have names for it, or at least something that describes the behavior.
@@deavacui2825eeesh the phrase neurological issues rubs me the wrong way. He doesn’t have something wrong with his brain, but he is neurodivergent because look at him he is ✨not✨ neurotypical. It’s a tv show, it has representation. And it’s beautiful.
11: I can’t live a normal life, don’t make me
14: watch me live a normal life
I guess a lot can change a man/woman/whatever the Doctor is currently when this comment is being read in a few regenerations
I've never felt so called out in my life... I do all these things
bro saaaammme!
As a woman I can totally relate to this as a long time Whovian.
The poor people who only have Max and have no knowledge of the lore
As someone who is AUDHD I loved his doctor so much, just for how much joy I got seeing him do stuff that is so familiar.
Same! That’s why he’s one of my favorites!
I don’t have ADHD but I have Autism, so while I can’t relate to the that side of it, I definitely see the coded Autism, and it’s a big reason why I was able to move on from Ten more quickly ( despite him being my favorite incarnation) than it was for me to move on from 11 to 12 ( even now I’ve just only got the desire to finally start season 8, and accept that Matt left).
Yes, and the way his "weirdness" is simply accepted, and not made fun like some other shows. *cough, cough, Big Bang theory*🙄
As I am watching this it was released 11 hours ago and has eleven views :)
Wow
@kylejones1095 Like, coincidence? I think not
Let's get you up to 11 replies then
Doctor: I hate being patient! Patients is for wimps!
Sutekh: is it now?
"I'm the king of OK" is one of my favorite 11 moments
Especially when afterwards, he says, "Oh no that's rubbish."
he was so funny genuinely lol
The doctor is 100% neurodivergent and no one can change my mind
The Doctor is 100% _not_ "neurodivergent" because this is a human condition and the Doctor is not even human and no one can change my mind.
It tends to manifest differently with each Doctor, though.
this entire video format is fantastic
The doctor is the most neurodivergent character ive ever seen
His status as a the oldest grandpa seeping through, along with trying to have fun in order not think so deeply about things.
The "pantophobia" joke is even funnier if you keep in mind that, since he's speaking UK English, the Doctor means underwear when he says "pants", not trousers as the subtitles would lead you to believe. :)
1:00 to be fair, River WAS deliberately messing with him there.
He's the exact same neurodivergency I am I wish the neurologist diagnosed me with Doctor who instead of ADHD and s anxiety disorder
Bro, SAMMMEEE! I totally wanna make this a thing: I'm not neurodivergent, I'm the doctor lol
This is why he’s my favourite doctor
Misread this as “this is why he’s my favorite colour” 😂
He's the most character i relate to. 12 and 11th doctor are the ones i relate to in the show.
He is literally me and my favourite Doctor I Iove him
This is why i love him so much isnt it? He's SO ADHD!
i have always thought of 11 as ASD... because i am autistic too :)
Same!
Wait, is this why I love 11 so much?
I just had that realisation!
I mean you regenerate your entire brain a dozen times, the autism had to happen eventually XD
now you know what i go through with my wife...its a good thing i have a mind for puzzles...
I relate to the 11th Doctor very much. I know the shenanigans of being neurodivergent. It's annoying but it is what makes you different than other "normal" people.
As someone who has ADHD, I see myself in 11 so much. I love seeing neurodivergent characters in media.
Through your video I realize how much Matt Smith's Doctor influenced my persona
1:30 I had forgotten about that particular moment, and so was promptly shot through the heart by the meme. Well done.
I loved 11 the most.
Ah, 11, I both relate and love you, so muuuuuch
Every Doctor is ND but 11 is up there with my guy 4 as the most obvious. (6, 12, and 13 not far behind.)
The complaint about pushing the door open when the instructions say "pull to open" makes no sense, because those instructions are for opening the LITTLE door, where the phone is located. NOT for getting into the "Police Box"/TARDIS!
The 11th. Yah. Well. He needs some tweeking. But he's a good lad. One of the best. But 15 says what was with me never changing my clothes? Huh. 🌟
Theyre just like me for real
🩲 are what he means.
I for some reason just thought about this, 11 is the youngest The Doctor’s felt in centuries
yeah but also kinda the oldest, hes broken and tired and is relies more and more on morally objectionable things, his moral filters are worn down. Its like he aged despite getting a fun new coat of paint to try and cover it up
As a fellow neurodivergent I relate
0:04 does anyone else swear that the doctor said panda in that scene or is it just me
I think about that all the time!
i would be friends with this guy
Excellent video
Wait that’s literally me
11 is my favorite cause he acts in basically the same way as me. Impatient and well mannered uncontrolled chaos.
Now I understand why 11 is one of my favourite!
He is literally me.
This was so very obviously edited by an American. We do not call trousers pants. We call underwear pants
Yep bin there done that 😂
He's just like me fr
I mean he is literally an alien, why would he act like a neurotypical human 😅
I've heard it said about being neurodivergent, "I felt like a stranger in my own body." That's literally what the doctor is!
@@naomiserena920 Accurate as that may be, all timelords regenerate, so he'd still be neurotypical, purely by the fact that he, and sometimes she, belongs to a completely different data pool 😅
No wonder he’s my favorite Doctor.
1:15 it's me with my ADHD
all day, every day lol
@@naomiserena920 well. It's what makes me feel special. Wbu?
Wrong pants
This iteration of the Doctor is 100% AuDHD and I fucking love him for it, he's just like me frfr XD
I love the 11th Doctor so much istg :]
I have adhd and I relate to 11 and 10 so much
the pantophobia is funnier when you consider its british which means the jokes about underwear
Huh
🤭 that was beautiful 😃
This is why 11 is mt favourite doctor. I love how funny he is without trying to be funny.
Pants means underwear, not 👖
... you don't know...????
Oop, my bad lol
@@naomiserena920 No no... He don't know
Your right... pants means pants... or yes it does mean that...
My three favourite doctors are Jon pertwee Tom baker and Matt smith.
First of all, the term neurodivergent literally doesn't apply to him as he's canonically not human, and therefore, this may just be the norm for timelords. Second, timelord brains are strictly just more evolved than ours. The cyberiad wanted to integrate him as a cyber strategist to lead their armies because he's literally just that fast and smart when it comes to planning things out. Mind you, he's organic, which is supposed to be SLOWER than a machine's speeds, yet he was able to almost match the computational speed of an entire army of cybermen and supercomputers with just under half of his mind committed. Third point, the doctor is extremely well versed in social manipulation and psychology, so most of these are probably examples where he's intentionally setting a companion up for big reveals or to calm the companion down.
Aren't all the Doctors some form of neurodivergent, by human standards? I saw different symptoms in all of them starting with the ninth. I didn't watch the earlier ones, but based on some of their wardrobes, I just assumed it was an ongoing theme that they were eccentric/alien and, by modern Earth standards, would have been seen as possibly neurodivergent.
