- In this episode, Captain Paul and the crew head to San Remo to pick up Loons Anvera 48 Wild Thing which has been in winter storage for the past 6 months. They go through the system checks required to launch the boat, and then Crusie beck down the French Rivera to meet up with Loon at anchor in Beaulieu-sur-Mer.
We are excited to announce the launch of our Patreon account. Members will get exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the crew and even have the opportunity to join the crew onboard for a member lunch.

Alex really is the most important person on Loon.
Is this Alex's secret account? lol
This is Alex's world, we all are just living in it, 😂!
And I noticed he's looking quit lean and muscled up
Being an ex marine engineer I can categorically say the chief engineer and the cook are 2 people you do not want to fall out with🤣🤣
Haha!! you lot will make me blush!
Refreshing to see the double checks after a servicing.. the crew is ultimately responsible.. awesome lifestyle share
Another Awesome little Video. That Anvera is such a sleek looking boat. Keep up the great work guys.
It really seems to capture the vibe of the Med, the same way the HCB is sporty like the Caribbean.
Anvera is back!!!! WOOOHOOO!!! ONE DAY I shall journey on that!!! Cheers Loonatics!
And my Yachtness, the Anvera looks amazing!
Thanks for watching. It's great to have the Anvera back alongside Loon. Steve, Alex and the whole crew did a great job making this video and preparing the Chase Boat for the summer season.
Paul I noticed the old name of the chase boat can still be see on the stern.
Wild Thing.
I love your channel by the way. 👌👌👌
A 💯% class act that never disappoints. Many thanks for always bringing a 😄 to my face and always at the right time. 🤗
Looks like you had a lot of fun that day! You are a true leader. Many want to be a boss, but a leader is someone that people love to follow.
This has been fun to see the 'big kid' inside you. Blatting the chase boat around and being abit of a hoolie for once Captain
Love seeing Yanmar. Those guys are old school cool. They’ve been building engines as long as anyone.
Another awesome video. I plan on booking a charter on Loon soon. I am just looking for someone to accompany me and pay for the whole thing.😅
another amazing video.. thanks to all of you. ps....hey, NOT everyone can do your job. and you are great at it.
I'll ask a sincere question, without any malice, please be objective with your answer. Why would we need to support with donation money, to the crew that live a 1 time lifetime experience work, which looks super rewarding with experience but with knowledge. They are not wasting 1 dollar while working and saving all their money. Their food is super healthy and they have good exercise. I don't see the point of someone watching good videos from your channel, siting at a starbuck for customer with minimum wage sending money. I don't get it. It feels not right to ask for money.
me again..:). because of you and this video, i now see the difference between a regular boat and an expensive boat(your chase boat). thanks.
Love the sound of those engines!!
Great video guys - nice to see the workings ❤
I absolutely love this channel. I can see why Loon is a much sought after charter. Can't wait to see this Med season get underway
Absolutely epic watch guys. Love the video. Captain Paul is such a great teacher, epic drone shots from Steve plus special shout out to Chief Engineer Alex, awesome knowledge.. good teaching. Thanks Team ⛴️👍🎉❤️
Agree.... actually I've noticed on the crossing the other crew are becoming great educators also
Your chase boat cost 3 times my house. Nice boat.
5 Times my house!
Love this! Great content, guys!
good day 🎉
❤
You should see my boat.
Have to manage the waves of Georgian Bay to the Ojibway Club
Rock on Doc!
Honestly im not impressed with that tender for 1.5m you got robbed..
Steve, Alex and definitely CPC great video. yeah I love the 48' Anvera. I hope Alex got right to fixing the issue to the front power issue. Steve the video photography was ACE. CPC nice hair cut and narrating on this video. Looking forward to next video and next live which I hear is coming up pretty soon
What makes this boat 1.5 million??
Oh, and Steve, bloody great videography mate. This was a marked improvement. The shot with Wild Thing passing Loon is perfect. In fact most of it was pretty damn close to perfect. Whatever you did over the break, back to school or hard in a book, it worked.
Cute back pack Captain Paul 😉
I hadn’t seen this before, but I need one! Way nicer than the tired old I backpack that we keep our boat papers and other essentials (all in zip-loc bags) in.
I was waiting for that one, I counld be the 1st and I wasn't cheers :D
Gotta love those Yanmar's great reliable inboard engines.
I can still read "Wild thing" on the back of the chase boat. If they painted over a decal you will see it forever.
Wild Thing is the tenders name.. We used ghost decals as we were required to put a name on it.
@@motoryachtloon And 2Loon was Taken? ^^
@@motoryachtloon Well a baby Loon is called a Loonlet. If it was up to me I would change it and all tenders and ski's to Loonlet1 through whatever.
What sunglasses is Alex wearing! They look smart and might fit my big head! Thanks.
oh, the boat looks good too! 😎🕶
Hard Ole life captain
Waiting for the Loon merch to drop!
Absolutely awesome ( pre checks) She's a beauty! ( Well except the dyslexic thruster props 😂 ) Alex going to swap a wire or reinstall props? Inquiring minds ya know... Thanks as always for sharing
hey Randy, it was just a simple reversed wire. easy fix once we got back to Loon 🤙
Bow thrusters reversed - Alex..."hold my beer" - no reaction whatsoever!
It's always good to have and engineer.
Thanks Captain Paul and crew. Another super fun video of things I will never be able to do myself. Stellar stuff mates!
damn lotteries lol got 5/7 numbers...... for $110. CDN hahahaha I couldn't stop laughing in the store, even other customers were having a good laugh. Good Times!!! 🤣🥳✌🍻 Sorry Lads, maybe next draw!🤞
Crazy question, why not add sun pads to the tops of the tender garages?
So many people would have simply arrived, jumped in, started the engines and, putting their trust in the yard, driven away. What was detailed in this video is how I would expect people to care for equipment if it were mine.
I treat other people's (whether they be clients or friends) gear like I own it and can't afford any extra bills this month and that's what I see here. Totally professional and on the ball, nice work guys.
As for the two chase boats, no competition. On big boats, Inboard diesels win every time for me unless it's an outright speed machine and if it is, inboard petrol FTW. While outboards have their place, I don't see the sense in hanging several tons and several hundred thousand dollars off the transom. And yeah, those big V8 Yanmars sound awesome and weigh very little.
740HP isn't a lot to move a boat that size that quickly but as you said the power to weight is great and Anvera spared no expense in shaving every last gram off the displacement. As you know, EVERYTHING on board is lightweight not just the hull. Everything from the interior to the helm chairs was selected with weight in mind. For a Med (or Florida, or Queensland) based luxury day boat with a good turn of speed, they can't be beaten.
This chase boat gives a whole new meaning to B.ust O.ut A.nother T.housand. In this case BOAT(T) stands for Bust Out Another Ten Thousand. My gawd the maintenance on this thing alone would cripple me.
Really fun video.
Nice boat tender 👍🏼
@paoadonym… is your purpose in life to stir up cr$p??? Seriously, you speak with authority, but you don’t have a clue what these folks make!!! I don’t usually comment on trolls stupid comments, but this is not Bravo - below deck.
Don’t like what you see and hear stop watching and move on!
So the engines have just been serviced one engine just over half full of engine oil on the dipstick and the other engine about three quarters full on the other dipstick if that was me I would be getting the people who serviced the engines back and tell them to fill the oil to the correct oil levels again good vid
I have zero knowledge about a yacht. I do know the crew of loon are impressive. Great people very good at there job. Thanks for taking us along
I love the Anvera, great looking boat. Do you ever use its beach club?
I would have loved to see the seating arrangement for this boat. How many passengers do you carry at once with this? Will have to see if I can figure it out with other videos I guess.
Are you happy with the new glass quarter panels on the Anvera?
Just saw majestic Loon passing by from Imperia towards Monaco. Happy 4th of July everyone!💥 🎇 🧨
Happy 4th 🎆
2:05 WILD THING bleeding through the stern paint there.
Wild Thing is the tenders name.. They used ghost decals as they were required to put a name on it.
@@Dave-in-MD Thanks. I had since seen this info replied to another post but I appreciate your time.🙂
Are you not required to have and use a killswitch cord around your wrist on boats like these?
below deck has a beautiful 12' RIB with a 75hp motor
😂
and two "oars" and one was the Chief Stew🤣
GIVE US MORE !!!
We're trying!! 2 videos / week isn't enough 😳
"Alex will fix that one..." love it!
Enjoyed this vid. How long did Alex need prior to powering up the Anvera after it was in the water? Did all his checks on the engines and hydraulics take 1 hour or 3 hours???
Not too long at all. Carried out a few checks on the engines prior to starting up, then the rest of the tests were nice and quick and some I did on the way back to loon.
Why is the starboard startup switch on the left? Would think that should be the point ignition.
1.5 million im guessing now lol... when i first saw the title i thought 1.5m(eters) and thought thats awfully small for a "chase" boat lol :) $1.5m
haha yes that would be a small chase boat 😂
We know your used to small things
@@jackspinner4727 M/Y Loon is a very large boat, 67.5 meters or 221.5 ft long, and when i read 1.5m i thought meters.... which is only about 5 feet which is about the size of a dinghy for a 30ft vessel... hope this helps you understand, cheers :)
@@fender42421 haha I understood. I was making a joke dude.
@@jackspinner4727 oh, good one.... ha ha ha. glad you chimed in, lol cheers :)
Seen the falcon yacht in Athens a few days ago
I would love to see that boat under sail.
@@Bubby869 Saw her in Sardinia during Perini Cup. Wasn't planned but happened as we sailed through the same region.
It’s cool to see The Captain doing his diligence.
Hey Loon team !
What kind of towing line do you use for this chaseboat ?
Why the difference in oil levels if just serviced?
That must be a good morning at the office, giving the chase boat a bit of a test drive and checking it’s all serviceable (or a joyride?)?
I hope you had your top gun moment buzzing loon (fly co, this ghost rider, just entered traffic pattern, requesting flyby of the tower” - “negative ghost rider, the pattern is full”.) - Paul laughing and Alex going “er, skipper, is there something I should know”. Just hope there weren’t any admirals daughters nearby!
LOL, its not a new boat... You checked all the fluid levels, DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!!!
Hi Captain Paul another great video and very nice day to pick up Anvera nice Yacht remind me my boat a Chapparal 32' I had 2 mercruiser 450hp each it was fantastic thanks again for your video and I can't wait when I see you with your nice black polo Loon to buy not one but 2 and and a baseball cap too it will be a honor and pride to wear these have a excellent day to all of you on the Loon I'm looking forward to your next video.💥💥💥💥💥💥⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
Curious, why all (mostly) black on the Anvera? doesnt it suffer from heat soak in the sun? i.e. to hot to touch tubes etc etc?
No not really and it goes well with Loons color scheme
You expect a speedboat that olny cost a million and a half to have working controls? How gauche!
Hey ! would you explain why there is no Toroidal propeller on the boat ? Because it's more efficent no ? ⛽🔋
This chase boat doesn't look like it would protect anyone from a hard rain downpour. I suppose you wouldn't leave Loon if it was that bad. Wish I could join the Patreon channel but cant at the moment. Take care.
Loon, hey mum, bady Loon is back. Got a bow thrusters thing to sort
Yea you ou see i got a dyslexic bow thingie. But with a little love and Alex and the bow thruster will be sorted.
Wondering how the bow thruster working backward worked with the joystick function?
Does it fit inside the Loon? Or are you going to tow it across the Atlantic every season change? Seems like it would be better to just buy 2 and keep one in both places? The Loons billionaire owner could keep 10 in each ocean and not notice the cash missing
Respect 🫡
All good, and profesional as always, but apart of the salaries and tips is there a patreon account for supporting the crew? Incredible
Cool , 5 months out on the hard , busy boatyard , hate to think of the monthly rate :-) let alone all the ' tidies' :-) just in and out must be a few $$ :-)
Time Warp? Nah. That's pretty funny because Esysman was posting videos of you all at Monaco like 2 days after things had happened so we knew about the simulators onboard a couple weeks before the spisode came out and also the party. I had thought you woukd get some TH-cam charter yacht friendship from M/Y King Benji but they apparently abandoned their channel now. Comments turned off for the 3 most recent videos and Josh the owner, took down all his socials.
Was it called Wild Thing? Looking at the stern you can barely see what looks like where a sticker had been. I love the sound of a nice Diesel engine better as well.
why does the left engine start button, start the starboard engine? 4:50ish
Haha I think that was just an editing mistake. Whoops 😬
Was the chase boat christened "Wild Thing"? Time stamp 1:42 Lettering above the engines.
I was waiting for a subtle joke with the name...
Let us get this Wild Thing in the water or so...
Good choice of drives. Yanmar makes a great sterndrive package.
The new chase boat was called Wild Thing.😊
Is called Wild Thing. That's its name.
Which men’s ON model shoe do you guys like best for the boat?
Didn’t you start the port engine while shouting “turning over the stud engine”?
Some tender is that little baby of the Loon!!! Most people would be more than happy to tear around in that, let alone stepping on board the Loon herself! Nice photography too fellas!
Yanmars are Uber dependable.
Nice limousine rib boat❤❤❤
Me looking at this while I can’t even afford a couch
Top 👏
This was Marine Degli Aregai
another great video, it would be your 15m chase boat not 1.5m 😆
Who is the ultimate owner of yacht loon? Is it known?!
İf u need chase boat captain for this beauty im up for that 😅
Why does it say wild thing on the back? is that it's name?
Hey Cap'tn, Let someone else drive too.
So the chase boat is 1.5mio. The decision would be 1 week on Loon or buying the chase boat...🤔
Only 1.5 mill thats cheap 😅
Crew says the captains a prick lol
Love watching your videos. My dad used to have a charter sailboat company in St John. haven't been around yachts in many years. Never been to the Med, Like seeing all the different locations. i will never be on a super yacht so watching these give me the satisfaction of seeing one. Of course I am more interested in the piloting and engine room. just wondering do you have a sea anchor onboard just in case?
They certainly do not have a chute!
That thing is only for sail boats!
Loon is basically a ship, and a very fragile one! ..as any super-yachts out there. Just short jumps between ports and islands. Never out in a storm!
Much less battling the North or the Bering Sea!
They put the thruster blades on backwards
Mamma Mia peperone❤
Whats the system that allows you to be 'hands off' steering? is there something keeping the direction of travel stable?
autopilot
Whose shoe at 2:59? Someone is missing a shoe
I from Russia where are you from
Put your seatbelts on in the van
Has anyone noticed that when he said like and subscribed to the subscribe button glowed. 😮😮
That’s cool! 😎
WHY IS THE TENDER CALLED Wild thing ?????
What would have you called it?
Goes to prove good help is hard to find
