You do not have to go into the past to enjoy this music,it will always be there, just because we get older doesn't mean we can't travel back in time in our hearts and minds and bring up vivid memories of our youth. My wife ,God rest her soul, when asked how old she was ,would reply," I'm 16 and I'm going through my second child hood ,and I'll never grow up," she honored this until the day the Lord Jesus called her home. So stay young at heart and don't ever let anyone say to you " act your age" So enjoy this music, and always stay forever young. BECAUSE LIFE is very short . GOD BLESS YOU.

I was 21 years old, a trainee office machine engineer in London. A six week course in the lovely Edinburgh. I fell in love with a beautiful student nurse called Jean. We had such a great time for a few weeks. I never saw her again. Thanks for those few weeks Jean; I never forgot you. X
In 1986, I was "between wives" and fell desperately in love with Kathy S. We spent many hours together, but never had sex. She was married. She almost left him for me, but I asked her, "What if, in a year, you realize you made a mistake?" I couldn't bring myself to even think about making her unhappy. I recontacted her some 30 years later, and she remembered the times we had together fondly. I'm in a happy marriage with another loving woman, but still think of her often. She spent her years married to someone she was happy with. I don't regret it, but I still have feelings for her. I wish her nothing but the best.
An example of the truth that love doesn't always equal and they lived happily ever after. This is not to say that this love is any less than any other.
OMG you'd swear that this was a solo singer. Alan Clarke put everything into it. The Hollies were a great band and they're music was great. We were spoilt growing up in the 70's having such good music and great bands ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Hollies are more of a sixties band than a seventies one. They scored their most big hits in the 1960s. They continued to be successful throughout the 1970s, especially when Clarke returned to the band after a brief solo stint.

My wife and I used to slow dance to this song in the early 70s. It was one of her favorites . The Angels called her home in 1997 after 30 years of marriage . I still play this for her on my cell phone when I visit her resting place. Im 76 now so before long we will be together again . Thank you for this timeless song .
We were so fortunate to have grown up in that time. The music was good and the lyrics too, no dirty foul language in the songs. Still listening at 72😂❤
I was a young teenager listening to this song throughout the 70s And I would wonder if I could find somebody ever to love like that. And I did, I have been married 41 years now.😊
I fell in love with this song , with the band and the singer that I still listen to it 50 years from its release. There is nothing you will not love about this piece.... the lyrics, the lush instrumentals, the melody, the harmonies, the vocals, the looks. Thank you Hollies.
Im 63 years old. I agree we were so blessed to live in the 70s. The best music just a totally different time. We didnt quite know how good we had at least we got the memories. I would not take nothing for those days. We didnt have alot of money, but we had alot fun
The 60s and 70s was the greatest time to be alive. I was born in 59. In north Philly USA. And it was at the time when the greatest rock bands were coming to Philly. I saw most of the great rock bands back then. I saw the WHO 5 TIME'S AND I saw Bruce Springsteen 4 times. Queen with Freddy, Black Sabbath with Ozzy, Aerosmith 2 times, Bob seger. David Bowie, ZZ top, Alice Cooper, i can go on believe me. It's what we did back then. Hung out on the street corner. Playing our air guitar to the rock songs on our big radio it was WMMR 93.3 FM. I didn't care much for zed zeppelin but I had tickets for the zed zeppelin concert. I think it was 77 or 78 but Robert plant son died and the concert was cancelled. Didn't really bother me i didn't like zed zeppelin but I did feel bad for his loss. Am going to be 65 in June so I can't remember all the great rock bands I saw. But the greatest rock band. THE WHO BY FAR IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE GREATEST ROCK BAND EVER EVER. The closest I seen to the who. Is Bruce Springsteen so much energy. And not one bad song and they don't go into solos to kill time. They play the song like it is on the album and I think that's what most people want. Not someone going off on their guitar for like 20 minutes. Then saying how they played a long show. Rock and roll will never die. Thanks to the great rock bands of the 60s and 70s.

Love Hurts…a beautiful song! Married 59 years to my love…I was 18 and he was 19! There were times we hurt each other’s feelings but always loved passionately! We still have the fire! I'm listening in 2:43 2024 and I'm 74 and I'm so glad I was born when I did!
I remember listening to this on the radio back in the early 70’s after it was released and thinking what an amazing song it was/is. All from the ears and perspective of a 10 year old kid. I too feel bad for the post baby boomers, as IMHO there was no better music.
A classic!
2024, This song will never be forgotten

Oh Happy New year and much love!🥰
My wife and I used to slow dance to this song in the early 70s. It was one of her favorites . The Angels called her home in 1997 after 30 years of marriage . I still play this for her on my cell phone when I visit her resting place. Im 76 now so before long we will be together again . Thank you for this timeless song .
That’s truly nice … luv the practice .. I’m certain she can hear the song and appreciates it ….
I started listening to this music when I was a kid, back in the 80s, now it is 2024, Still loving it.
Most underrated band of the 60's and 70's. They stood back from the Beatles and the European invasion. This lead singer was great
when music was love and love was music.
Quanta lembrança boa me trás essa musica momentos maravilhosos da juventude
We were so fortunate to have grown up in that time. The music was good and the lyrics too, no dirty foul language in the songs. Still listening at 72😂❤
I'm 137 and love this song

I am 75years old. And the 60's. I played in bandm and we used to do most of the Hollies song they we're brilliant.
Thank you Hollies.
só uma musica dessas pode ser ouvida em 2024, 50 anos depois, com o coração cheio de lembranças

Quem viveu nesse tempo , sinta se priveligiado , tempo bom demais 👏👏👏
I've been reading all your comments,,, all you gorgeous souls united we Stand ,,,, we were n still are blessed for the very best music n musos of all time n I'm 64 going back into the 70s 80s and Beat The Fuck out of Cancer recently n music like this helped me do it ,,,,Yai !!! Love Yas all !!!❤🙏
Beautiful song
No one can harmonise like the Hollies!
I’m 70. Our music was so great that my children knew it. It’s musical instruments played by musicians with talent and soul. The rhythm was theirs. The words were theirs. The meaning we could all relate to.
Alan Clarke, fantastic. Saw them a few times in my youth and still remember that fantastic voice.
Love Hurts…a beautiful song! Married 59 years to my love…I was 18 and he was 19! There were times we hurt each other’s feelings but always loved passionately! We still have the fire! We no longer hurt each other as we grew to understand how to love each other! The passion still burns hot! It never stopped! ❤
