This is absolutely fantastic. I really hope it encourages the people who immediately turned away from Pool in disgust to give it a try lol. I’ve seen some incredibly strong reactions against it and it’s too bad cause Pool is so good and sooooo fun I think people have been asking for a major shake up in the game for a little while now and this is definitely that! I get that some people don’t like the goofy nature, but in the same way my brain doesn’t even register the extra effects on Spiderham’s cards anymore, I think the silly veneer of Pool wears away after a few plays and you’re left with a very new play style with some amazing cards and combo potential. In a game that gets better with every release because we have to evaluate every new hero in 4 different aspects, I’m so thrilled that we’ve added yet another permutation to that for every new hero that comes along! Long live Pool!
Thanks for the kind comment! And yeah, I've definitely seen a hint of those strong reactions haha! I chose 'Pool in Nelson's latest draft video we did and there was immediately blood in the comments. I will admit I went on a journey with the aspect. Super excited, immediately disappointed, but game by game it redeemed itself and now I really enjoy it. I think I had a lot of expectations in my head and, once I realized what 'Pool was and accepted it, I really started to have fun with what it is. Love live Pool!
The more I think about it the more I wish they had done a venom pack like this. I love the venom we got but it'd be cool to have an aspect that represents venomised heroes rather than just the symbiote suit card.
Negasonic Teenage Warhead is my favorite to include. If you can give her 1 hp or Tic Tac Toe out, I like the trade off she give. Also, realized Symbiote suit, Venom, and Deadpool is wild resources. Synergy with Rock Paper Scissors

This gives me a fresh perspective on ‘Pool that I needed. I don’t know that I’ll play it more than once in a while, but it does bump ‘Pool up my list a little higher
I've been having a ton of fun using the 'Pool aspect. I've used it on 12 heroes thus far and am enjoying having a chance to use new builds I hadn't tried before. I'm generally a control player (solo only), and I agree with the "small risk" statement if one uses the right builds and then the "riskier" cards in the right moment.
Something you may have missed about Not My Responsibility is that the "Hero" part of "Hero Interrupt" is crossed out. So this card directly enables you to use an ally to prevent scheming while you flip down to alter-ego. It's effectively a confuse as long as you have any ally out.
I hadn't missed it but perhaps I could have been more clear. I think I say something along the lines on taking it if I go alter-ego on a hero a lot? My problem with it is you have to draw into it at the right time if you go alter-ego - or hold it from the turn before, but I think the cost of losing an ally is already sliiightly high, so not the biggest fan solo still. But not bad!
I think people at release were a bit harsh on Deadpool. I had so much fun creating a deck for him with the pool aspect that I'm happy with. I love comboing tic-tac-toe with blade with his +3 attack. My deck also allows for different strategies depending on which cards I draw early. I like to use plot convenience to save cards for later. So when I get that one early, I put da bomb in there for when I have loads of resources without it being in the way. Sometimes I draw a hand with pretty much only resources, well perfect timing for a nice bomb haha. If I don't draw it early, I usually skip plot convenience. When i draw pool ally's at the start I tend to build on that. Then it's also nice to get laser swords out with stick to itiveness because of all the bad icons you get with it. When I draw cable early, I tend to avoid getting bad icons and just combo maximum effort with this card is fire, with cable's 5 damage on the side. A match with deadpool is never the same for me compared to many other hero's where I'm sticking to only one strategy.
That's awesome! Storing Da Bomb for a resource flood is just perfect. Very cool, thanks for sharing. I love decks and heroes like that with that replayability variety
Kinda! Part of the problem is that many of the 'Pool cards that aren't allies are cards that benefit from those negative icons like acceleration and hazard icons. So even if I take a bunch of those non-allies, the most reliable way to get those icons on the board to use with them is through playing 'Pool allies 😅 So both the "Safe 'Pool" and "Danger 'Pool" styles end up with a lot of allies in my builds.
completely agree. love 'Pool so much. there's obvious memes with stuff like Break Time, but even then, i completely agree that 'Pool overall very strong. i also love Tic-Tac-Toe for keeping healthy for the resource cards. i also love Captain Marvel with 'Pool, specifically with Mulligain. dumping stuff to heal, power up your Energy Channel, etc.... so great my other favourite is Star-Lord cos you can trigger his Pistols, and he often wants to dig for those Sliding Shots, so it's a good way to dig for them when you're ready to go off I really love Live Dangerously in multiplayer on turn 1 if you can and then just playing another side scheme over it to discard it instead of trying to thwart through it. that way you can play it again later to get a good burst at the end. i heard if you Break Time and don't take minutes away from the game, Tony will show up at your house to admonish you, so you know... bad news you disappointed Tony, but good news you can probably convince him to stay for a game or two
Haha! I would be amazed if Tony turned up in the UK. I'll have to start misusing Break Time as much as possible. Star-Lord's Pistols are a great shout. I also like that he can use his alter-ego ability to swap a card into his deck before he Mulligans to get it in his next hand along with 5 completely new cards, effectively saving one he wants to keep. Assuming you don't just hero power Mulligan after burning everything else... So many cool things he can do. And love that strategy with Live Dangerously, awesome! I should explore that.
You are correct! The cards on screen then do count each icon. Laser Swords does as well (up to 4). When I say 'at least 3 icons', they can be of the same type. Earlier on, talking about "I Got This", that card is different and does only care about the first instance of each type of icon present. Hope that helps! Let me know if I misspoke somewhere!
@@VillainTheoryawesome, thanks! I just wasn’t sure, I think you explained these well. Makes me want to pull the cards back out for some of my favorites… maybe a safe pool for Drax and Quicksilver 🤔
@@wkylegreen Ah phew! I wondered if I'd made a mistake. Quicksilver and Drax are both great choices. They also love lightsabers if they can afford them... Goes very well in multiplayer/two-handed especially.
About the tic-tac-toe card. You said that it could hold up to 7 tokens, but that's not true is it? If 7 tokens were out there has to be a line somewhere diagonal, horizontal or vertical before that.
@VillainTheory me and my gf are playing the sinister motives campaign and I'm about to chose a card from a different aspect as a bonus card. I'm thinking of getting that card, but would that one card require that we shuffle in the crisis of infinite deadpools card into the encounter deck?
@@HelloMyNameIsREDGreat question! And I think the answer is no. You only include the Dreadpool stuff IF you choose the aspect as part of deck building. So Spider-Woman and Adam Warlock would if they chose to include any 'Pool stuff, but Cable and Gamora wouldn't if they took a side scheme or Cutupper. Cable and Gamora aren't choosing 'Pool, they're choosing one aspect but can take cards from elsewhere. Spider-Woman and Adam effectively choose two or four aspects respectively, so that's why they have to. I'd have to check the wording in the book but I don't thiiink the campaign stuff is part of the actual deck building. It's campaign bonus stuff.
@@VillainTheory yeah reading through the Deadpool rules leaflet I came to the same conclusion. It seems wonky to me to add the crisis card for one single pool aspect card.
I feel like Spider Woman can really benefit from taking half 'pool for one of her aspects, take all the good cards and supplement with like, Justice to make up for the lack of threat removal

Wow, a Venom/Symbiote aspect would be incredible. Hopefully they do that if we ever get the proper Venom. 10/10 idea!
Agreed! I’m hoping they still do a Venomized Aspect later!
Great all round advice and insights.

This is a great guide for the 'Pool aspect, I really hope FFG add more cards every now and then.
Same! I don't think they will directly, but I hope they at least add basic cards that synergize with it 🤞

Honestly, I think occasional play is just what 'Pool is meant for. One pack, however how big, doesn't give it enough cards for long-term variety.
