    Nice idea to highlight cards which you wouldn't just throw in any deck, but can be built around effectively. Good job!

    I did a Cyclops and Havok theme deck with mission planning it was fun having the boosts on Havok and taking 0 CDmg/ Wolverine was there, too!

    • @VillainTheory

      Havok is such a good ally for this and putting it on Cyclops who can also get big damage and double consequential damage Wolverine? Love it. Also I feature your other comment from another video at the end!

      Spider Woman - Captain Marvel (ally) would be a very good Voltron ally for this. Draw cards every time you use her. Med team/first aid is a slower version of this already that works good.

    Not sure what I am more jealous of, your ability to make great decks or your ability to come up with fun names for them.

    Great idea for a series of videos. I have played a lot of Champions over the pst few years, and I still always learn some new insights from your videos and your decks on MarvelCDB.

    Maybe do a video on alliance cards!

    GOLIATH! This card has some potential. I have tried Inspiring Presense deck with Goliath bonus for 15; going to revisit it with a command team deck and maybe some upgrades. Keep it up Villain!

    • @VillainTheory
      @VillainTheory  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! I think that will work really well - Goliath is one of my favourite allies in the whole game.

    • @jonathanpickles2946
      @jonathanpickles2946 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a bit of a nombo with Goliath as he still discards himself. I like Rapid Response with him.

    • @VillainTheory
      @VillainTheory  ปีที่แล้ว

      Goliath can still be pretty good with Mission Planning in my opinion - but that is the reason he didn't make many of my example decks.

    Good points about allies with ready effects, Enraged, or more than 1 consequential damage. The big miss here to me is you don’t compare it to Team Training. That majority of existing archetypes don’t need to keep paying for extra activations when they can pay one time to give their allies 1 extra activation for the rest of the game.

    • @IamJFD
      @IamJFD ปีที่แล้ว +1

      oww yeah team training is just better 90 to 95% of the time, and doesn't require much deck building.

  • @batmansmk
    @batmansmk ปีที่แล้ว

    What about sprinkling some Inspired in the mix? It adds 2 or 3 value per mission planning for 1.

    • @VillainTheory
      @VillainTheory  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome idea! I do think the challenge of defeating a player side scheme, getting allies and readies set up, then getting Mission Planning played is already quite a tricky puzzle - so I'm not in a hurry to put too many ally upgrades like Inspired in, I try to keep it simple. But I think sneaking one or so in could be great!

    • @batmansmk
      @batmansmk ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VillainTheory absolutely! The other advantage I see with inspired / honorary avengers / cheap upgrades is that it leaves the rotation, thinning your deck and allows hitting those mission planning faster. 3 copies among 30 cards are the same odds as 2 copies among 23 cards. And running 3 copies of your finisher event can handicap your starting hand more than 2. But I totally agree with you that your deck build is also legit, I don’t have the pack so I didn’t test myself and yes, mission planning is a dope card.

  • @Ddwlf27
    @Ddwlf27 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's tricky, because currently with XForce heroes, I'd rather run Uncanny Xforce which basically does the same thing.
    But I think there is merit with older heroes.

    • @VillainTheory
      @VillainTheory  ปีที่แล้ว

      Uncanny X-Force makes them take less consequential damage when thwarting side schemes. Mission Planning can be used extremely aggressively and works well for allies with multiple consequential damage. I think that's the big difference for me and actually sets them apart.
      But certainly they're a poor pairing together, and I'm not going to argue that Mission Planning is better than Uncanny X-Force because it just isn't haha. But it's fun.

  • @jonathanpickles2946

    My guess pre watch - Agent 13 and Command Team. It looks generally good with SHIELD; the Bowler hat guy also benefits from it mightily, since you are not playing Field Agents unless you're using Spider Woman, hmm.
    Those cheeky Avengers get the nod instead then, thanks for going through all these builds. It's definitely a Johnny card which is much better than just being bad.
    So what is the worst card in NeXt Evolution?

    • @VillainTheory
      @VillainTheory  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought about Agent 13 but Sky Cycle was calling me. I think Agent 13 would fall under the "third option" I talked about briefly - one particularly valuable ally you just focus on.
      As for the worst card in NeXt? Top secret.
      No one can know.
      Unless they read all the way down here.
      It's Mission Leader. 😉

    • @jonathanpickles2946
      @jonathanpickles2946 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VillainTheory Hmm as a solo player I look at Mission Leader & think if I only had 3 friends who would all build side scheme oriented decks that would be amazing.
      It looks a solid set with the exception of some of the Justice cards, especially solo. (The unconditional vanilla cards in Justice were too good, it's gone from my most played aspect to the most boring by far, the reverse of Protection)

    My deck on Marvelcdb: 572477 (31602 public)
    Spiderwoman with Hulka ally. Hulka damage 60 always and never dead.
