- The iPhone 14 Plus was released to a lot of criticism about it reusing a lot of the specs as the iPhone 13 Pro, and just being a generally less exciting phone than the iPhone 14 Pro with its new 48 megapixel camera and new design with the dynamic island. However, after using this as my main phone for the past week, I have learned that sometimes it's not all about the specs and that the iPhone 14 Plus has some advantages over the iPhone 14 Pro... but does that still make it worth the hefty $900 price tag?

Great review - glad I stumbled across you. I too own the 14 plus - purchased used for £699. I owned the 14 Pro Max then sold, because I kept thinking, my I've spent so much money on this and I'm still not satisfied! This ticks all boxes for me and battery life is phenomenal. I can highly recommend, unless you're a flex and it that case, you won't be happy.
I had to replace my Pixel 3 recently because it was constantly losing the connection. I wanted the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but that was backordered for 2 weeks! But they had the 14 Plus readily available, so I went with that. And to be honest, I absolutely love it! Love the battery life and the speed. I do have to get a little used to it, but I think that is more because I made a switch from an android phone to an Apple. I recommend the 14 Plus heartily.

omg this thank you I was worried. I had an I phone 6 when they came out I hated it and went back to my samsung. It never let's me down I go a full day without charging unlike my old iPhone. But I decided to give an I phone another try. (p.s I wanted the iPhone pro but I couldnt wait either and got the iPhone 14plus)

I upgraded to 14 plus froma 12. I always wanted a bigger screen but never wanted a Pro model as it was too expensive and didn't really care about the cameras. When the 14 plus came out I knew I had to get it. I'm so happy now with it.
I updated from Android to this one and jeez I love it, I was getting the 14 pro max but it was not available, two months wait. This one has a great battery, screen is great, camera LOVE IT. Definitely recommend this one.

I upgraded from an XR to the 14 plus, and I’m loving it.
I’ve been using my iPhone 14 Plus with color Midnight for a week now and I absolutely love it. 4 main reasons for my are 1 screen size, 2 battery life, 3 weight and 4 price. The 100-200USD price difference is huge in the Philippines. I want the newest release not the release last year.
Great. I love this phone also. I prefer the weight and the price. Plus, I wanted the 256GB, which is too expensive in Pro max. I wanted a bigger screen also. Lastly, I really hate that 3 cameras bulging on the back. It looks pretentious
14 series has a better cooling system too than 13 series

i am absolutely in love with my 14 plus!! i wanted an upgrade from my 8 plus since it was starting to die a little too quick for my liking, since i’m an avid phone user like i think most people are these days lol. let’s just say, im on my phone a lot haha. so having a phone with a battery life that lasts me two whole days (depending on the usage on that particular day, could end up being a day and a half) is just awesome honestly!! plus the bigger display/screen is very nice, even if it’s only a wittle bigger than the 8 plus. highly recommend it as an upgrade!!

Already having an 11 and a 12 mini, I traded a 13 mini I had for a 14 Plus because all size fits me. Sure, it's a HUGE leap, but I've been enjoying the 'poor person's Promax'....This made me go from 'Nobody needs a screen that big' to 'Look at the size of this thing'
It's a quite snappy phone! I especially like the high quality of the camera. And all day battery life! what's not to love?

I went from a 12 mini to the 14+. The size is perfect. Dont have to do anything to read the text, dont need 120mhz screen, or the island. The camera lens would be cool, but I'm just going to use my DSLR more. Battery life is one of the more important factors for me as well.
Mannn, nothing wrong about a poor persons promax. I just got this thing , upgraded from an XR and damn it’s a whole brand new experience. It’s like when I had my 6 and I got the XR wild times!

I've been using my iphone 8 plus and needing to upgrade for a while. Bit the bullet and finally bought a blue iphone 14 plus. Didn't know it was released until a day before purchasing it. Very happy, battery life is heaps better too. But I miss the home button. Thanks for the review.

Great video! Nice you admitted to at first following the trend of bashing this phone but then you came to realize it's really a good phone after all. I upgraded from my iPhone 12 Mini to this last week and the battery life alone was so worth the switch. I use my cameras a lot, and the 14 Plus has a great set, especially shooting videos. No regrets at all with this phone!
Just ordered my 14 plus from a 12. Everyone hates on it but I could care less about the extras just wanted the better camera and battery.

I am so happy you mentioned the battery life, I upgraded from the iPhone xr to this so it was quite the upgrade but i have never had a phone last me more than 24 hours before. The battery on my last phone was close to giving out and my phone used to die all the time leaving me stranded, other than that, the screen size is such a nice upgrade w/o having to get the pro.

They should have just used an aluminum frame on the IPhone Pros as well. Many people complain about the weight. They can still differentiate on the finish. It would make it a better phone.
It's a lighter phone than iPad 13 Pro Max, and it's better to hold. So be it that it isn't better equipped than last years flagship, it's still a viable option if you want a phone that's just as good as the 13 Pro Max, but much lighter and more handy. I will easily sacrifize the ultrazoom and Pro Motion of the 14 Pro Max, for a more lightweight build with a better grip. So the conlution is easy. The 14 Plus is the phone for anyone who thought the 13 Pro Max was a wonderful phone, but just too heavy. The 14 Pro Max doesn't solve that issue.
Upgraded from a 7plus to the 14plus and just wow. Battery life is amazing,had to charge the 7plus about twice or so through the day, the display on the 14 is just so beautiful and the cameras are amazing. Loving it so far, feel free to ask any questions, I would be happy to help.
Just out of curiosity, why didn’t you go for the iPhone 13 Pro instead? You would have ended up paying less for so much more

@ the 13 pro should be more than enough if you want a big screen. Phones shouldn’t be at a size of a tablet. Remember, the primary purpose of phones are supposed to be to make calls and send text messages. The 13 pro has a 6.1 inch display while the 14 plus has a 6.7 inch display. Both are actually really huge. The 13 pro should be big enough for your everyday use. Smartphones aren’t as small as they used to be anymore. Imho if you have a laptop, iPad, or television at home, you should definitely go for the 13 pro. But if an extremely huge display on a smartphone is too important for you, then go for the 14 plus.

@ hmm then I guess go for the 14 plus. Since both the 13 pro and 14 plus basically have the same chip, ram, and power. Just keep in mind you’ll be paying more to get a bigger battery and display size but lose out a little on the display quality and camera quality.

Got this phone a month ago, so far no complaints from me. Last phone was an 11 so the upgrade feels very noticeable. As you said the display is very nice and the battery lasts all day with heavy usage. And the phone is much faster as well, no lag all very snappy.

@@Unknown-facts11335 Records in 4k 60 fps, that’s good quality enough for me. Pictures look great too, for the average person I’d say it’s good. Although if you want to focus on photos I will say that the 14 pro does have a slightly better camera and more features.

How about upgrading from a iPhone 11 to the 14plus?
In Australia the IPhone are on “special”. The 14 Plus is $1,549 and the 14 Pro Max is $1,949. I couldn’t rationalise spending an extra $400 on a faster refresh rate or an upgrade to the camera so I purchased the Plus. I upgraded from my XS Max which I believe is the best iPhone ever made taking into consideration the huge upgrade the X had over its predecessors. It’s the first iPhone with OLED screen etc.
I just got one for 550 used and honestly so far I am loving the battery life. I am somewhat missing my iPhone 13 mini but the battery is a big difference.

Enjoyed the video. Good info. I'm coming from an iPhone 6S Plus that still works really well. If iOS16 were an option, I'd keep it. Been thinking...Plus or Pro Max. Do not like the island on Pro models. too low on screen when watch landscape video from what I've seen. If 14 Plus has same modem as 14 Pro Max, then Plus is likely where I am leaning towards.

Just got the 14 + coming from the 12 pro I honestly have no regrets I’m pretty sure my 12 pro was defective from the gate. My battery was horrible. My speakers were horrible. I couldn’t talk on my speaker phone so I could listen to music from my speakers. My screen was buggy it was just horrible and I couldn’t take it anymore I was between the 14+ and the pro version but what I really don’t like about the pro is that dynamic island I get what they were trying to do but they haven’t cracked it just yet. But I’ve had my 14+ for a few days and I’m having no regrets

I think the main issue is the price . For 899 u could easily get 13 pro max with better specs the 14 plus I think should have been 100 bucks cheaper

@@CashCollectaThing is my country for example the uk and my network provider have very limited stock of the 13 pro and pro max. And if they do it’s the expensive storage options like the 512 gb for £95 per month vs £60 per month on a 256gb 14 plus or £55 128gb.
Pro motion also I won’t notice the difference as my 12 pro is 60hz. My iPad Pro has pro motion and I don’t have problems going from that to my phone.
I am currently using the 14 pro, but kinda wish I waited for the 14 plus. I had to turn off the 5G, the auto mail fetch, always on display and refresh rate to 60 htz just to get more than the original 3.5 hrs of screen on time. Now I get 7.5 hours plus. But basically have a regular iPhone 14 now. SMH

Hey, I have a question I was going to buy a 14 pro max only because it comes in 1 TB but I like the 14+ the only problem is it comes in 512 MB, so is it worth it to buy the 14 promax just because it’s a terabyte or should I just buy more memory From Apple subscribed for more iCloud memory what’s the real difference? I presently have a 12 promax 514 and I’m almost out of memory even though I purchased 200 gigs that’s the only reason I was going for a terabyte. But is it actually worth it to pay $200 more or $300 more for a phone or order More memory from the cloud? Does the terabyte do anything more special speed up the phone or anything? I don’t quite understand and I secretly like the light blue color more than I like the color is being offered on the max camera as a camera I think I’m more concerned about memory because I have a lot of accessibility, adaptive pictures, photos, documents, etc. on my phone and a lot of apps. I came from an eleven to a 14 plus. I upgraded the memory because my phone tends to be a photo and video bank. I also consume a lot of content on my phone so the big screen is awesome. The value for the economy appealed to me. And still cheaper than my carrier’s 13 pro max. Which choice was a problem. Loving the plus. Good review.

I’m buying my 14 plus next week coming from a 12pmax it will be my 3rd iPhone purchase the weight the big screen and battery sold me and now I can get it for under $700 through a 3rd party
I am facing a wired issue on my iPhone 14+, as soon as i go in area where cell network is bad my phone battery 🪫 drain very fast , under battery management it shows that over 42% battery is gone from searching for mobile network 😢.

Huge upgrade and you can keep the 14+ for as long as you've had the 7+. Definitely worth it. Also ask if there is any trade in value for your 7. Lots of deals right now.

Love my 14 Plus. I thought I was losing a lot by not going with the pro model but that wasn’t the case. My favorite is the all day battery life, the screen size and its lightness in the hand.

I have a blue 14 plus and I came from the same phone. And I don’t get the hate this phone gets. It’s a premium phone and it would be a flagship if not for the pro models. I love everything about the phone. My friend has a 14 pro max and her screen looks different so I can tell tell the difference. But it’s not a issue at all. I don’t think it’s a big deal or a small one. It’s a upgrade I don’t need or can justify. My battery last as long as hers if not longer and I don’t take a ton of pictures ever. 128 GB is enough for me. Not big on gaming either. I’m a no nonsense man and a dad. So I don’t need the fanciest phone. This phone reminds me that you should make your own decisions and stop letting the masses dictate your moves. Pick things off what you like. Everyone doesn’t need the exact same phone. I’m glad my phone isn’t the most desired. Hidden gem.

I loveee this phone so much! I upgraded from the XR. The battery is amazing and so is display size. I got mine for $280 brand new back in January, so you can’t beat that for a phone like this!
People say unless you are a professional photographer the plus is just fine. I have to agree. Even as a professional photographer I elected to go with the plus. weight and battery life is a big thing. Who really wants to be shooting in raw and having to edit the photos. I shoot in 50 mp with my mirrorless and DSLR always and always in raw so I know how large those files are. I am editing everything on a M1 Mac and also having to use several external SSD's. So for the average person or even some professional photographers the plus certainly fills the requirements. I doubt many professional photographers will be ditching their cameras and using a iPhone as their stand alone camera.
I want the plus because I don’t give AF about camera specs . I don’t need 3 different cameras. and this model has the widest screen. iPhone 8 Plus was my favorite model for that reason.
Don’t upgrade to the Plus. You’re losing the telephoto camera from the 8 Plus. Not a good upgrade

I am thinking of getting an iphone for the very time of my life. The only reason is because of the Satellite SOS system. I dont want to continue to carry my garmin and pay for the monthly subscription. One very important feature on any phone for me is always on display. I don’t want to pick my phone up all the time just to see my missed notifications. That’s a deal breaker for me.

I bought the iphone 14 plus cause in india the iphone 14 plus is the same cost as iphone 14 pro max in other countries , thats too much but the pro max is almost double the price as the 14 plus . Considering this the plus was the better option .

I use ApplePay / tap-to-pay most everywhere now. Not often I find a place that does not now take ApplePay / tap-to-pay with one time token.
Well no SIM tray so that is a deal breaker for me at this time. If there is a KISS solution to move my eSIM phone number from the iPhone is just killed (did this once before) to a backup eSIM iPhone without the need to call anyone I am in. Until then only going to purchase smartphones that have a SIM tray.
