- It's Travel Day, so fly with me taking off from London Heathrow on Virgin Atlantic Flight VS3 flying and landing in New York at JFK Airport where upon disembarking the aircraft I discovered one of the wheels had snapped off! Should I be compensated? Do I have a CASE? I flew Virgin Atlantic Economy to see if Virgin Atlantic are still as good as years ago or are they no longer leaders in the aviation industry, have other Airlines taken the lead such as Jet Blue? Let's find out...

LOL if only you knew how many hours it took to edit these bl**dy videos, 687 clips on this one. Personally I'd rather be getting merry drinking than sat editing videos at 4am then out again filming my every move lol Not quite as glam as it may look. BUT there are worse jobs. x

For someone that doesn't make airline travel vlogs on a regular basis; I think I'd put your laid back style up there with many of those that do! I once wrote to Virgin about the poor service I received on a flight to Barbados. The reply I got was well if you pay economy you get economy. I have never flown with them since.
We’ve always used Virgin, generally from Manchester but occasionally from Gatwick or Heathrow. Always rated them, they were different and they used the 747. We were so proud to sit at Vegas or wherever and watch ‘our’ 747 taxi in - people stopped what they were doing and just watched it. Sadly no more though, like the airline their planes are just more of the same. I’ll still use them given the chance but the magic has gone.
Many moons ago we sat in Burger King at Manchester airport gorging on burgers before our flight - never liked airline food. On the table next to us was our flight crew doing the same. The cabin crew walked past, did a double-take, stopped and asked them what they were playing at ! One of them answered ‘well we’re not gonna eat the rubbish you dish up’ ! 😂😂
Good luck with the compensation claim, I am still waiting for mine, cancelled flight 2020 , would never use them again

Scenery from plane great. Suitcase wheel oh dear,mind you if only tbe Suitcase could talk! The stories to tell. Edinburgh Airport lounge other year was fabulous. Needed some peace, & quiet. Food for me brilliant & resting times. As a long wait for flight back to East Midlands as travelled from Shetland islands. 😊😊.

Not sure what the beginning was all about. Sleeps fully clothed, wearing your glasses and watch, and goes to the airport in the clothes you slept in. 😀😀

Always amuses me the amount of people that leap out of their seat the split second the plane comes to halt. Where do they expect to go? 😂 There was a guy at the end of your video that had me howling!!
Hi this is what makes me laugh people jumping out of their seats wanting to be first off the plane.
The guy with the big rucksack had me laughing as he was walking at such a pace trying to get through the crowd.
I always wait & I am always near enough last to get off the plane unless I travel business class

@@martinsamuels2897 well unfortunately most people just pay whatever is asked of them now, if enough people refused the excessive prices they would lower them.
Nice to see the hotel you stayed in at 18:06 and even Synchronised lolly eating at 27:09 haha. Shame about the wheel, I remember having a Samsonite case a few years back and they are supposed to be quite indestructible, well until it showed up with a huge dent in it lol. Glad you got over ok though and look forward to seeing where you go next. Cheers.

Virgin are a fantastic airline. They will give you salt and pepper if you ask. All airlines are cutting back at the moment.

Hey Lee great vid loved it, I hope that you are doing better after your hospital appointments. When I saw the title I though that you meant that a plane wheel had come off, would certainly not be good! I do agree that quite a few airlines have made cutbacks, have experienced this with short haul flights around Europe. I would recommend that you fly United trans Atlantic, My family and I have flown United for many years now. I'd say that flying into Newark is cheaper, but less convenient than JFK.

I haven’t flown Virgin for years, they did used to be very good but not so much now. I’m excited to fly Jet Blue to London some time soon !

I always love videos I see on this channel because they are always energetic and full of adventure, adventures are always good for the mind but it’s too bad that most times lack of finance makes them virtually impossible.

I much prefer United for International flights, despite them flying mainly into Newark from Heathrow. I found the food selection to be better, the in flight entertainment better and the seats comfier.

Great Vlog Lee as always I have not used Virgin in years & most people seem to be of the same opinion that standard’s have dropped but I think after Covid some airlines are being a bit more cautious then others.
Obviously cannot fault the flight attendants & the uniforms they wear always stand out from other airlines.

Enjoyed the video as always, great content. I remember you once saying that you were going to fly British Airways so that you could do a comparison video between the two British carriers - that I’d like to see, and how you compare them to what I believe is your favourite Jet Blue.
Safe travels and oh, get a RIMOWA case, they glide so smoothly and they are built like tanks. Not guaranteed baggage handler proof though.

A brand new case used once, they dented mine and one of the zips was broken off lucky it was still closed Stansted to Tenerife South. So I had to get it plastic wrapped on return journey. Rant over, onwards see you in the next one Lee.

So many TH-camrs around the world some good and some not so good but you're in my eyes the best and better than all the rest I never miss any of them and still go and watch your older ones even though in I've seen them before it's like you will still watch something on TV that you have seen before and still watch them again because it brings back happy memories 👍

We fly Virgin Atlantic to the USA, we love it. New airplanes nice cabins, food decent enough. The A350 1000 you flew into JFK was the same one we flew back to the uk on in November.
Not really into planes but Heathrow's an exciting place! First went there when I was around eight, as part of a coach trip to a Disney Show at Wembley Arena, with a stop at Heathrow on the way! Planes coming in and taking off every minute!
Just watching your journey to New York so got some catching up to do 👍

Flew virgin to New york in October didn't have any issues at all and thought they was great , plane is a plane to me but each to there own , maybe I'll try jet blue next time I go to the states and see , keep up good work

I really enjoy your travel videos Lee. I myself have never flown VS (Virgin Atlantic) but if the product isn't as good as before I expect it's because US airline Delta (who owns 49% of VS) holds the purse strings today. VS is now a member of Skyteam (previously Branson, when he had more control, said again and again his airline would never join an alliance) and VS has been losing money for the past few years. 2022 pre-tax loss was £206 million.
I could tell i was in Derbyshire other day, a lot of people were calling me "duck" lol.. i can still imagine lee flapping his arms flying in the sky country ti country lol
