I used to fly Upper Class with work from 2001 to 2003 and I'm shocked at how much it's changed since then. Back then you would be picked up in a limo (even from the South Wales Valley's where I was living!) and the driver would check you in from the car. You would then be driven to a private entrance to the airport where staff would take your bags and direct you through private security and straight into the Clubhouse. In the Clubhouse you could get a haircut or massage. Once on the plane the onboard masseuse would ask if you wanted to book a massage! A limo would then be waiting for you when you arrive at your destination. It was truly a VIP experience! Upper Class now looks dreadful, and I'd be so disappointed if I'd spent all that money for such a tired, shoddy, and dirty experience. Love your videos though Tim - thanks for showing us what Upper Class is like now!
Yes, exactly my thoughts. I used to fly with them frequently in the late nineties and it was amazing, exactly as you describe. Limo service from home, check in from your car, the clubhouse was amazing, haircuts and massage and the in-flight bar was a lot of fun. Such a shame.
I used to travel Upper Class and I too am shocked at the changes - no massage in the lounge - and NO salt and pepper (the plane was in a shocking state too)
You don’t get the limo with this upgrade. I did it once before on a work trip and got it for £400. I have to say that virgin upper in no way near as good as Singapore Business once onboard.

Hello Tim, you probably won't see my comment but I want to say this anyway. The first couple of videos, I was watching with a certain "distance". I thought you were alright but nothing more. After watching almost two dozen, I find you a very honest and real person. You perform with a genuine and authentic touch and it's such a nice breath of air. Keep up your good and hard work! I appreciate you being yourself!! Greetings from Belgium
The bidding system that virgin (and I want to say Delta) can be very lucrative. It's a shame most airlines save their last minute upgrades for status members
Just don’t fly direct from Heathrow, that’s where most of the cost comes from. Going to NYC via Amsterdam, return on Virgin into Heathrow (KLM Business out and Virgin Upper back) and it’s two grand cheaper than going direct. A whole two grand.
@@jsptravels The UK is weird though, I've found all my cheapest fares via London. The only exception was one from Inverness but I think that was due to the lack of APD
When I fly from US to UK i take a 3 hr nap immediately when I arrive. That has helped me a lot from the jet lag. I also noticed I never get sick when I do that. Others I have traveled with seem to get a cold when they don’t nap so I guess I will keep doing my naps!
I'd be underwhelmed if I flew Upper Class on an A350 with Virgin, it looked shoddy. I've flown Upper Class on the A330neo and you get a suite with a fully closing door, it was probably one of the best flights I've ever had. The difference between two products seems night and day.
Flew back from Boston on a VS 330Neo last March, got to say that the seat was great, best nights sleep I've had on a plane, the food and service were good as well.
I always carry sanitizer wipes for the tray, screen and seats. Planes are never disinfected or wiped down. Just a quick hoover and rubbish taken out between passengers.
Thanks, I was racking my brain trying to remember what it was called , knew it was a coastal grown delicacy but just couldn't remember the bloomin name...lol
What a shame they've cut costs so much and taken away what made Upper Class special! No real priority at check-in, the lounge with extras gone so really just like any other lounge, and the sky bar gone, so just like any other airline. The seats looked tired and a bit exposed. Upper Class used to be really Wow. But I'm glad you got to do it and have a lie flat bed - that's the best bit! Looking foward to the rest of your trip!
They still have their own Upperclass terminal though that allows you to skip the regular check in and their own security channel at Heathrow. I think you can go straight into the lounge from there as well. The bars are still on the 787s in the fleet
Also ignore that Queue downstairs. Go up the elevator and check in at upper class upstairs. If you arrive by car/taxi they take you right to the separate check in upstairs.
No way!!!! You've just come up on my TH-cam suggestions. I remember working with you on redtv with Natalie Mullinder back in the early 2000s. Well done, Tim, to how far you've got 👏 👍 👌 xx
I was told by a Virgin Atlantic stewardess that if you’re going upper class it’s best on the neo/dreamliner which incidentally still has the bar you mention in the video. At time of writing there are 3 virgin flights to LAX per day and I understand the Neo is the late one. As you flew in the morning you were on one of the older planes. The only problem with the Neo is that it doesn’t get in to LAX until about 10pm so by the time you get to your hotel it’s usually gone midnight. I’m flying London to LAX round trip in upper class next year and booked the Neo on the flight back to London. Also for both flights I’ve managed to bag seat 1A which has always been an ambition of mine!
If you are indeed flying Delta One back from LAX, you're in for a treat. Be sure to use their dedicated check-in accessible from the arrival level at LAX. You get a private security lane and dedicated elevator that takes you direct to the Delta Sky Club lounge, skipping the crowds in the terminal.
We flew Upper class 30 years ago after being upgraded from premium. It was a great experience, a separate lounge & bar & huge seating area. Great food & drink. Think Virgin have lost the plot, sorry wasn’t impressed with your flight, too cramped & seems like they are just cutting corners.
I remember my husband & myself travelling to Greece with Virgin upperclass back in 2000. Long story short. Due to flight delays we were caught up in this massive queue for check in. Flight attendants were calling out for their passengers, when they found us queuing & that we were upper class. We were personally escorted through the crowd. I felt like the parting of the Red Sea.😂
I think the videos where you show the more expensive options are the ones that will get the most hits! Like when you stayed in the fancy hotel in Dubai, or the cave hotel in Santorini. People love to see and experience through you the things we might not be able to do ourselves. Great video :-)
Tim I really appreciate your videos. Just a small tip. When you're drinking champagne or white wine, both of which are served chilled, try to hold your wine glass by the stem so the warmth of your hand doesn't warm the wine. You can hold red wine by the bowl, but white stuff that's chilled, use the stem. Smiles.
I am a Coach Driver for United Mini-buses in Horley. We currently have the contract for this shuttle for Virgin staff from CAE Gatwick. The staff are fab.
I think the mustang suits you Tim! I also wanna just say I love how when you do first class/upper class etc you don’t feel the need to suit up. The smart casual look and the fact it feels like you’re talking to us as if we’re there is why I’ve loved watching you the past 3 years. You’ve almost done the full circle of California UK to California US. Can’t wait to see the rest of this America series. Out of interest how harsh were TSA in checking all your cameras etc, or was it a breeze. We’re you going to have to be ‘on the run tim’ 😂❤
You’re not exaggerating, the upper class seats on the A350 aren’t that wide, 20” to be precise which is 2” less than on the older B787. It also used to be 22” on the B747 where there was only 14 seats in the cabin and which I did quite a few flights on in upper class. Seems like they even want to cram more seats into the upper class cabins now and of course the only way they can do that is to make those seats more narrow. I think it’s something like 36-40 seats in the cabin now on both the A350 and B787
I was very lucky to fly Emirates business to Australia to visit my daughter. It was FANTASTIC..a once in my lifetime experience. I was so well looked after as my mobility isn't the best, the beds were so comfy..real pillows and a duvet. I wasn't too well on my return so was able to sleep from Oz to Dubai after honey and lemon drinks from lovely kind cabin crew.Honestly if funds allow it I say definitely go for it. Food was yummy and all drink flowed freely..no plastic cups or cutlery in sight..nibbles at the bar..nothing to complain about at all🎉👍

I too flew business class return to Melbourne. Could not find fault with anything. Got back 2 days ago and would do it all again. Thanks Emirates, you are the best.
I love your videos, the comments at the start, the story, the check in, the uniqueness and the free from nonsense approach to editing and great factual commentary.
A great and honest video of what it was like. To be honest for what you paid, I would have expected a lot more, from check-in, security and lounge. You can see where they make their money. I went to New York in 2005 and only went economy, but we had seats at the back and only two either side, which was so comfortable and lots of leg room and offered free drinks and snacks during the flight. Look forward to watching your upcoming vids. Have a great time there.
@@WalkWithMeTim If you could see that, what couldn't you see? The seat seemed like a regular/premium, not an upper - class one, apart from you being able to sleep, which I never can on a flight. I do remember it took over an hour to get through border control and they didn't seem like happy chappies! LOL
Was there a reason you didn't go thru the checkin for Upper Class only? We were driven right to the door that checked us in and right around the corner was the security line. Very quick and professional.
I flew Emirates to Islamabad via Doha in Business Class a few years ago. I watched your journey to Dubai First Class on the same carrier. And your videos show the stark contrast. The cabin crew on Emirates were impossibly gracious even in Economy class. The individually tailored experience even in Business Class was magnificent. Virgin Upper Class: what a dump.
Back in 2008 me and my brother flew with an airline called Silverjet from Luton to New York. It was purely business class and tickets were £1000 each way no matter if you booked 6 months or 6 days in advance. It was an incredible experience, only time I've flown Business class.
I travelled via business class once with Aer Lingus through the bidding system between LA to Dublin. I’d always wanted to try it and loved the experience 😊
I flew upper class 26th Feb, annoyed because the private security was closed (was the time before when we flew upper class). The lounge is really good and the people are so friendly.
I flew British Airways business class a long time ago with work. We had a nice lounge in the terminal, but the flight itself had no thrills. The only difference between business and economy on the plane was a white napkin thing over the back of the seat, and they drew a curtain across to separate us from the cheapos. I can't afford to fly but it's nice to see your experiences Tim, so a great video once again.
@@originalkk882not even accurate for BA short haul. You get much more elbow room on BA Club Europe because the middle seats are blocked off, and of course you get a meal included, and priority boarding (so if you carry a bag on you can actually find somewhere to stow it). So to say that the only difference is a napkin over the headrest is just simply WRONG.
For about the last 10 years, I’ve been flying first class. I’m not traveling as much as I used to so when I do, I splurge a bit and fly first class. I flew first class on Virgin Atlantic from NYC to LHR and back again back in 2015 and it was wonderful. It was a bit pricey but the peace of mind and the extra room was wonderful. Lovely service, too. By the way, Tim, I like the smell of jet fuel, too!! ,
Hi Tim, Nice review of VS Upper Class. You were flying on a Virgin Airbus A350-1000, their oldest was delivered late 2019 so quite a new aircraft really but it seemed quite dirty to me. My friend at VS tells me minimum bids they will except for the upgrade to Upper is around 500quid but this depends on how full the flight is and other bids on offer so its all about luck, 800quid is not too bad. Cheers Darren - Oslo. ps: crisps with champagne thats so naff, come on Virgin you can do more, some nice roasted nuts selection would be better!
I think I would have expected a bit more from Upper Class, but you didn't pay too bad a price for it 👍 I'm not a car nut, but I've got to say that is one gorgeous car 😍 I don't blame you for treating yourself to that 👍
I will never fly virgin again. The ground crew was rude and incompetent and I lost my prepaid driver due to being stuck in no wi-fi area for over an hour with a wheel chair. The space on the plane was claustrophobic and the 'bar seats' are slanted so it was hang on or slide. The survey arrived in text which I completed fairly close to what I've written here, but no response or follow up. I paid 3x's what you paid Tim. The flight crew was lovely and efficient but to call a flight attendant, had to use the computer screen - not working. The lounge is very nice but i didn't have time to eat there due to one overworked waitress and food did not arrive. Return me to the former open first class - I hate these pods, and you did say the seats are narrow, agree, and the door to the pod was closed by attendant and couldn't be opened by me - although i work out in gym 4x's wk. More stories but ---thanks Tim for your reviews.
That's an amazing deal you got, well done! I have wanted to fly Virgin Upper Class for about 20 years, one day I will. I agree with you about the cleanliness, the entire plane should be thoroughly cleaned and checked in all cabins, especially Upper Class. There has to be a simple cleaning routine for the suites that is repeatable. The Pelotons are silly and a gimmick, unless they supply workout clothes and shower stuff for afterwards. Of all the TH-cam videos I have seen of the lounge the Pelotons are never in real use. The door on the suite seems silly, for half a door, rather than a full door. I have seen videos of JetBlue Mint STUDIO which I think you would enjoy from NYC to LHR.
If you're flying Upper Class you can actually access the terminal from the upper class wing which is a separate entrance that has a porter to help with your luggage, instead of the main check in area you used (although you can use that one too). You still go through the same private security lane, but you get a slightly better check in experience.
Many years ago I did about 4 return flights with VA for a mystery shopper company and one was a upper class return and I loved this lounge. I think it had showers, a library, a games room and a TV room (well, sections) back then. Really bad how unclean your space was 😮😮
I’m 74 i remember going to USA in a 747 it took 7 hours and it was fantastic plane we had a bar upstairs and everything was free its a shame that they don’t do that anymore that’s progress for you ❤
Upper class is worth it if you can get a decent cost upgrade but not the full priced ticket. The seats are often filthy and last time I flew I found a previous passengers used amenity kit stuffed down the side. The service can also be rather patchy, especially when the crew all start chatting in the bar area and forget they're meant to be serving all the passengers. Definitely choose a seat away from the bar if you want to sleep on a night flight. Emirates business is much better and United isn't bad either.
Flew Upper Class with Virgin last month. Virgin has a separate Upper Class entrance which is great. Drive up to the entrance, staff take your bags and check them in for you. You just show your passport and then go through separate security and then you are back with the rest of the airport. I thought the lounge was great and being a plane geek I loved the sky garden 😅
Looks a great experience flying upper class, like the private seats, and the food looked good. Of course you had to hire a mustang ! Dont forget to play the classic...mustang sally
I’ve always wondered what first class looked like although I didn’t know there was an upper class, I didn’t even know you could bid to get a seat in that area, I’ve definitely learnt a lot in this video
I think the virgin 787s are a little tired. I did recently get to use both virgin premium and delta premium (return) to Detroit and I must say the delta offering was better than virgins by some margin. Plus the 777 is just a better plane in my book!
Fantastic to have travelled like this with you, it looks fabulous. My partner had 2 Mustangs years ago-the men and boys loved them-photographing it at traffic lights! Electric ones haven't got the roar that his had when revved up in a tunnel. Hope you loved driving it?!
The green stuff( samphire) is grown up North Norfolk. My ex used to pick some off the marshes when we went up there and he used to boil it up in a saucepan. I was never impressed lol😂
I've done Upper Class and it was nice, I used points to pay. You still get entitled beggars who think they can ask you to move from your seat that you bought when they were released because they want to sit next to their partner, on an overnight flight by the way, and the cabin crew and fellow assengers were not very nice when I refused which spoiled the flight experience somewhat. Paying extra doesnt guarantee anything.
Great video. I love your editing. Just enough for context without flannel and over egging it! (Like some TH-camrs do.) Also, facts and nice opinions without loads of teasers (again, others use them to make us stay watching….. it doesn’t work for me, I’m so fed up I just switch off!) Looking forward to watching your other videos. Enjoy your trip.
What does that mean "without flannel and over egging it). my biggest annoyance with how some are edited is how they do a cut/edit after every sentence(not sure if your terms means that or not lol)
@@Stationary76sorry - they’re English colloquialisms! ‘No flannel’ means- not too much talking around the subject= ‘ just the relevant information given’
@@Stationary76‘over egging it’ comes from an English saying “don’t over egg 4:01 the pudding” - which means ‘only use what’s actually needed- no need to add more’ (some TH-camrs just talk and talk and talk, over explaining, - Tim doesn’t do that IMO. He’s very succinct and to the point!
Since Delta airlines took a 50% stake in Virgin it became a poor product, the fact is many of the once was great airlines or Europe are pretty much just average these days, BA are even worse. Where as the Middle East lot continue to dominate in a much better hard product.
Great video, thanks Tim! Your 'rubbish British hotels' videos will always be my favourite, but a close second is definitely these airport/travelling videos. I can't think of a better guide to the experience 🙂
I find if you switch your clock to where your heading timeline you know when to have dozes to climatise to sleeping hours and vice versa when you return
I have to say it didn’t look luxury enough for the extra you pad much less the regular price. I remember you being escorted to the lounge on other airlines. Somehow the sad little red carpet doesn’t make up for it
The 'baby asparagus' on the crab & lobster ravioli looked like samphire - it's a relative of asparagus with a subtly different flavour (which probably won't have been noticeable at cabin air pressure!) Oh, and cream first on the scones - good man!
I love watching your channel, and its nice to see the relative luxury (there are far better upgraded flights out there). Im currently stuck on the couch after surgery for a very bad leg break, and would love to know if you and your beautiful family have ever considered doing a cruise for the channel? I look forward to seeing what new adventures you get up to next! X
Hey, Tim. You do a fantastic job. I have been enjoying your travels since I discovered you, a short time ago. Amazing, the comprehensive quality of All of your videos. They are stellar. THANK YOU.
I clicked so fast great to see another Tim video. Unfortunately right now premium offerings from UK airlines aren't the best, which is very unfortunate because obviously being LHR, virgin and BA have the monopoly so getting a direct flight with anyone else long distance is hard. But they aren't even close to keeping up with the likes of Turkish Airlines, FinnAir, Singapore or even Air Canada for how much they charge. Even their economy prices take the mick.
A lot of airlines converted their fleet for cargo optimisation during covid-19. DNATA uses Virgin Atlantic aircraft for cargo and for British Airways, their cargo makes them more than their passengers do they tend to prioritise cargo. As a result, Both airlines lack fleet as they haven't changed them all back yet which leads to tight turn arounds which has a knock on impact when it comes to anything maintenance side that isn't safety related.@@WalkWithMeTim
I usually fly each year to Spain. Just today returned home from Spain to Gatwick, with easyJet. We were supposed to be on an A319 but at last notice the flight was changed to an A320. The leg room was a bit better than on the 319 but still a bit cramped, normally I don't complain as it's only a 2-3 hour flight. However today's flight was over 3 hours, we departed 7 mins earlier than expected but arrived 32 minutes later than expected. On approach to Gatwick, we were sat in a holding pattern for a good half hour, on final approach the plane in front suffered a birdstrike whilst landing, landed and stopped on the runway, on short final we suddenly initiated a go-around much to most of the passenger's shock however of course like a lot of people who know about aviation I was fully aware this was a go-around. We then circled back around for another attempt and credit to the pilot, it was extremely windy and even I could feel the plane being pushed from left to right and back to the left again, initial descent down to the runway looked quite rapid but then they flared a good amount which actually made it an extremely good and soft landing, no slamming into the ground or bouncing. We didn't touch down until a good bit down the runway and I actually wondered if they were going to perform a Touch and Go, the wind conditions were quite high, low cloud base and also heavy rain. Just to make it even longer when we taxi'd to where our stand was, a plane was occupying it. So we sat on the taxiway for another 10 minutes until it had vacated. As much as I think "it's only a short flight"... it would be nice to have a big more legroom. Might have to sit in the first row next time! Having checked my flight EJU8078 on Flightradar, at the point we initiated the go around we were only 1,275 feet above the ground... I'd estimate that's about 90 seconds from touchdown.
you are a very enthusiastic guy! consistent and always entertaining :) I've saved some money for myself to hopefully start doing some vlogs, good luck with all your travels Tim :)
Tim I wouldn't care if you didn't explain how you afford this, it's not like you spend most of your trips wining and dining in 5 star hotels and first class flights! I love the merch, a bit tacky but we are Brits after all. I really think you should at least make a hoodie that just says 'I'm complimentary'. I love what you do and especially when Gabi and your little man joins you. I always feel bad hearing 'Gabi', My sister is called Gabrielle and my mum used to go mad at me for calling her 'Gabi' when I was a kid. I'm now 36 and call my sis Gabs, my mum just about tolerates this! I wonder if your wife had any issues with her name because it's not a very common name for females.
lol thanks for the feedback you will be surprised how many people ask how ..tbh I don't and haven't done much with the merch because not many buy it .. but noted
You missed out! We were on Delta One leaving from Heathrow last year and we got an email inviting us to the Virgin Upper Class Wing. We gave our taxi driver the information, and the directions took us to a gated entrance. We had to give our last name and booking number, and the gate lifted. There was a lovely courtyard and the driver pulled up to the gate. People came out and took our luggage. Inside there was a lounge area, and we were invited to sit at a desk where we were checked in. The luggage was there and was put on the conveyor for us, then we were escorted to security - which looked a bit like where you were in the video, but we had people helping us put things in the right order and they walked with us up to the xray machines. We walked through those and the lounge was right there. Very lovely lounge. Totally fabulous VIP experience. Delta appears to be setting up something similar at JFK - also a very nice experience!

Really enjoyed watching your trip over to the states - what a bargain on the upper class 😮. Looking forward to your upcoming videos - fantastic work as always.
I've travelled a couple of times upper class. First time I done it in 2014 it was excellent and we absolutely loved it. Went again in 2019 and it had nosedived totally. It was a complete waste of money and haven't used it again since. Premium economy is where it's at. Reasonable price and good service. But even that, post COVID is now too expensive for what you get.
Personally, I think Tim was doing his best not to criticise. But I’m so sorry, what a crap product. Virgin have honestly lowered their standard! No where near their competitors! I hope they see this and give you a refund for what is a premium economy standard flight! As always, great work Tim! Loving your videos
I’ve travelled Business Class with them and liked the way the seats were arranged. Diagonally rather than forward facing. Last lovely flight was Emirates Business. Very nice.

That's not true they are wiped every flight. Every seat.
And I left my camera on the plane upon landing, the crew got it, saw me at baggage and gave it back. Nice service!
wow that would hardly ever happen
The 'green stuff' is samphire. It's grown in North Norfolk (coast), love it!
And in samphire ho in Kent near Dover very expensive product
Also along the River Fowey in Cornwall. I used to canoe along it and harvest it.
And Dorset
On most of the coastline, I've found it on both the northeast and northwest coastlines.
The new Neo plane is awesome and brand new with a better seat lay out
Also ignore that Queue downstairs. Go up the elevator and check in at upper class upstairs. If you arrive by car/taxi they take you right to the separate check in upstairs.
There’s an upper class wing, you don’t need to go in the main T3 entrance.
Only useful when arriving by car though.
No way!!!! You've just come up on my TH-cam suggestions. I remember working with you on redtv with Natalie Mullinder back in the early 2000s. Well done, Tim, to how far you've got 👏 👍 👌 xx
Hey Emma! how's it going yes I remember you, are you still friends with Natalie?
@WalkWithMeTim it's all going well, thanks, Tim. Yes, i still speak to her. I'll tell her you're all rich and famous now lol xx
Virgin currently does not fly the neo to LAX. I would check to ensure you’re not flying delta under a Virgin codeshare on this route.

The green stuff is called samphire, lovely stuff.. I collect it in the wild when it’s in season (late summer)..
We flew Upper class 30 years ago after being upgraded from premium. It was a great experience, a separate lounge & bar & huge seating area. Great food & drink. Think Virgin have lost the plot, sorry wasn’t impressed with your flight, too cramped & seems like they are just cutting corners.
Not like it used to be , the age of luxury air travel disappeared 20 years ago , all budgeted now .
But 50 yrs ago it was a diferent story.
Much Prefer the more realistic ones (financially speaking )

Tim I really appreciate your videos. Just a small tip. When you're drinking champagne or white wine, both of which are served chilled, try to hold your wine glass by the stem so the warmth of your hand doesn't warm the wine. You can hold red wine by the bowl, but white stuff that's chilled, use the stem. Smiles.
I flew upper class with Virgin 10 yrs ago on a 747 there were only about 20 in the class, it was amazing.
I am a Coach Driver for United Mini-buses in Horley. We currently have the contract for this shuttle for Virgin staff from CAE Gatwick. The staff are fab.

I also wanna just say I love how when you do first class/upper class etc you don’t feel the need to suit up.
Have a great time there.
have to agree .. and for it to be so dirty in places when you are paying or could be paying up to 4k
Tim, I think you were born to do this job!
lol me too!
Clearly that was BA short haul. Long haul is a very different (and much larger price difference) between the classes.
That must have been in the 1950 s ??
@@originalkk882not even accurate for BA short haul. You get much more elbow room on BA Club Europe because the middle seats are blocked off, and of course you get a meal included, and priority boarding (so if you carry a bag on you can actually find somewhere to stow it). So to say that the only difference is a napkin over the headrest is just simply WRONG.
That’s not business mate
Cheapos might not have the money and it’s all they can afford
For about the last 10 years, I’ve been flying first class. I’m not traveling as much as I used to so when I do, I splurge a bit and fly first class. I flew first class on Virgin Atlantic from NYC to LHR and back again back in 2015 and it was wonderful. It was a bit pricey but the peace of mind and the extra room was wonderful. Lovely service, too. By the way, Tim, I like the smell of jet fuel, too!!

Maybe they are concerned about guests with nut allergies. If they serve them they have a whole raft of precautions then then would need to adhere to.
accept
AND we flew Premium Economy. Nice cabin. Small and cosy, but everything else very poor
Excellent one-man travel reportage. Cinematography fine for the narratives. Reviews muchly appreciated.
I just love the purple lights on the virgin planes.. looked incredible…
Cheers to that 🥂 if you know what I mean 😉

Many years ago I did about 4 return flights with VA for a mystery shopper company and one was a upper class return and I loved this lounge. I think it had showers, a library, a games room and a TV room (well, sections) back then.
Really bad how unclean your space was 😮😮
I expected nothing less than a Mustang convertible. Good on ya.
Oh no! The Lounge has changed so much since I last flew upper class I am now regretting buying an upper class ticket 😢

Wow, thank you
I’m 74 i remember going to USA in a 747 it took 7 hours and it was fantastic plane we had a bar upstairs and everything was free its a shame that they don’t do that anymore that’s progress for you ❤
Upper class is worth it if you can get a decent cost upgrade but not the full priced ticket.

I’ve always wondered what first class looked like although I didn’t know there was an upper class, I didn’t even know you could bid to get a seat in that area, I’ve definitely learnt a lot in this video
This isn't 1st class. Upper Class is Business class at Virgin. Virgin don't have 1st class.
Just found this channel yesterday. I have really enjoyed watching these reviews!
I think the virgin 787s are a little tired. I did recently get to use both virgin premium and delta premium (return) to Detroit and I must say the delta offering was better than virgins by some margin. Plus the 777 is just a better plane in my book!
i think that was an Airbus A350 ?
Delta doesnt fly a 777.
@@vibesix sorry you're right, it was the A330. It was BA that I had the 777.
The A330-9s are a hundred times better than anything else in the Virgin fleet. They just need more than the 4 they have at the moment
(Like some TH-camrs do.)

What does that mean "without flannel and over egging it). my biggest annoyance with how some are edited is how they do a cut/edit after every sentence(not sure if your terms means that or not lol)
@@Stationary76sorry - they’re English colloquialisms!

I am glad that you flew upper class, but I wouldn't fly with virgin Atlantic again. Ever. Really bad service before during and after booking.
The 'baby asparagus' on the crab & lobster ravioli looked like samphire - it's a relative of asparagus with a subtly different flavour (which probably won't have been noticeable at cabin air pressure!)

I was surprised to see it so dirty

Brilliant vlog & thanks for the tour of upper class ✈️Enjoy your trip & thanks Tim 😎😊

The atrocious cleanliness on these planes, even in First and Biz is appalling!
