This is similar to what my grandparents made. They used cheese in theirs. I will have to try your version with the hot dogs added. Thanks for sharing your great videos

That's exactly how we have made it since I was a child, 50 some years. We like it with garlic bologna when we can find it. Yum!!!!!

When I was a kid, we took a family vacation and there was a hot dog and sausage plant that you could walk through to see how hotdogs and bologna was made. The guy told us that hotdogs and bologna was the same meat but different shape. I piped up and said, "my friends at school pick on me cause I have bologna and ketchup sandwiches!" He said, "next time you go back to school, ask your friends if they eat ketchup on their hotdogs. Then tell them they are the same meat but different shape like I said." My mom made this hotdog spread with dill pickles, green olives and miracle whip... Yummy!

This is a childhood favorite of mine! Well, adulthood too..lol I use Miracle Whip, Dill pickles, Onion, and Beef Bologna. So good!! I’ve never heard of using hot dogs, but I guess it’s basically the same thing. I agree that making it is better than buying it from the store, plus the store bought tastes disgusting, and they add red food coloring around here..Eeeek..What? 😝👌🤩

I love your pan, I got a whole roll of Kahns bologna at teh little store near us last week they had ordered too much bologna rolls and decided to sell it for 1$ a pound I just bought the roll she had been slicing not much gone it was 7$ so I am assuming maybe 3 pounds gone, plus my husband went back next day and bought 7 more pounds for me sliced and I vacuumed sealed it and put it in the fridge. I remember eating this spread and it was soooo delicious I am pretty sure it was your recipe and I don't measure either. LOL I have it all ground up plus my onion and I will use my home canned zucchini relish (only relish we use) thanks for making this video it is PERFECT!! New subscriber here

This was known as Wedding Sandwiches in my mom's family. As a matter of fact, when my second sister got married, 50 or more of these Sandwiches were made. Everybody loved these Sandwiches! There was also potato salad, n cole slaw for sides. My mom's family really loved this sandwich spread!

I'll have to go shopping. I will get some turkey bologna, and some vegan mayo fur sure. I can't have pork or beef after being bit by a tic, and no to regular mayo due to no eggs either. I'm just thrilled I can at least improvise with some of the recipes now! By the way tfs!

I made that a lot, when my kids were growing up, but I had forgotten about it. I always used bologna, or salami. I would have used hot dogs, had I thought of it. I used home canned zucchini relish, because that's what I had on hand, and I added shredded cheddar cheese to it. Hubby builds fence, and takes a lunch cooler with him. I still have my grinder, so this would be a welcome change for his lunches. Thanks for the reminder, I'm putting it on my to do list.

This is what my grandma made, it is better then ham salad, most of you store ham salads are left over ends and pieces of different lunch meats, I know I worked at one, people loved it though! My grandma used to put a hard boiled egg or two in hers too sometimes! You can leave out onions if you don't like onions! This way is the best, they don't know until they try it, they will never go back to ham salads!
