Good choice on going to Playa Carricitos. Also, good call on going to the north side of Playa Sayulita to avoid crowds. Sayulita is very busy for a small town and you came during the low season. You are right about Sayulita being a good spot for surf, yoga, and very healthy lifestyles. However, there is a very busy nightlife/music scene here. People who appreciate that will likely prefer Sayulita more than people who don't. While the weather and surf is better in the high season (November to around May), if you are trying to avoid crowds and don't enjoy nightlife, you may appreciate low season more.
You want a quiet isolated beach? Hike past the North Beach along the cliff trail to small Cave Beach or to beautiful expansive Malpaso Beach - same hike trail that takes you to San Pancho. I was just there a month ago.
I young nomads my y wife have enjoyed you for years now and good to see you. We were fixated on Peru but Mexico has been easier and enjoyable in San Pancho especially. This a rare time I connect like this but you two warm my heart
I always say, "I can't stand people; I love persons." Great video and information. Keep on keepin' on! ALSO, It's nice seeing the sun set where it's supposed to.... into the water. West Coasters forever!
We stayed 3 days and I loved it ❤ , lots of small motorcycles and stray dogs ❤ right up my alley ❤ , loved the food of course , also found an AA meeting which I am a long time member so that was great .
I went to Sayulita back in 2005. Wow! It has certainly changed. When I went the main beach was as empty as the last beach you showed in this video. It was lovely and nobody was surfing on top of each other. It was the perfect place to learn how to surf and it was so tranquil. I think there are too many people there now. I think it's a 1 day stop on a vacation trip. I don't think I could spend more than a day there. Too crowded. No peace. Thank you for this video.
I vacay in Vallarta often so for me Sayulita is a good day trip idea for PV travellers, combined with another nearby small town named San Pancho it can be a fun, full day including travel, food, drink, shop, beach time ( 8-10 hours)
Thanks a lot for sharing and, we agree. . The best place in this video - in my opinion - i he quiet beach and the sunset. Keep enjoying yourselves...💕💓💕
I live your videos and link information. I used Safety Wing insurance per one of your video recommendations,, when we went to Ecuador a few months ago. Thank you!!
@@EricandSarahTry Lo De Marcos next time. The beaches are largely deserted and quite beautiful. The city itself doesn't have much going on, but it's not a million gringos and the water is very calm.
Where do you prefer? At the end of the video, you said it's not your favorite. Is there a place in or near PV you prefer? Or somewhere on the pacific coast that you really enjoyed?
Sayulita has always been a love for the past 25 years, but now it has experienced hyper growth and the town has not addressed the large amount of pollution of many of my friends getting VERY sick after swimming in the water. The sewer line upgrades made a 9-10 inch pipe of raw sewer into the ocean be changed to an 18 inch pipe is what I understand. The prices are no longer very affordable either. While the night life is still fun, long lines to restaurants and accessibility are a problem. I say all this hopefully to make people more aware and to not get sick.
If you want the best surfing and enough space head to La Lancha! Also, if you can handle it there in wet season from July to September you could handle it all year round I think.
New subscriber here. Very cool videos. My wife, son, and myself are going to PV in a couple months for a week. Would you recommend the quieter parts of Sayulita or Bucerias as a base camp? Thanks.
HAHA! I think that's my brother there in your video at 5:44 with the longboard and the broad hat (white top). I've just sent it on to him to confirm but I'm pretty certain it's him. We're Vancouverites but he was living down there for a few months, my sister and I went to visit and loved Sayulita. :D How random is it to spot your own brother in a youtube video; of all the millions out there. EDIT: Confirmed. That's my brother Rod in your video. 😅
off course Sayulita changed just like every small medium and big town everywhere else...I live and Love Sayulita it's a great little town come for a vist and check it out 🥰😍
Thanks for the video Eric and Sarah! I am curious to know, what would you say the average price of beers/fish tacos/surfboard hire(in peso) would be? I’m trying to gauge how expensive it is there…
I had an order of tacos, a lemonade and a bottled of water last night and the ticket was $205 pesos total (gratuity not included) something like US$11.70 I hope this help!
it depends where you go. in a restaurant it would probably be 200-250 pesos, but if you go to a street cart it would be maybe 100 pesos. its like anywhere in the world - there is a range of prices for every budget. surfboard rental you can google it. actually restaurant prices you can google too if you are really that worried about it.
Sayulita got trendy and a bit more expensive. I enjoyed it but i hope it doesnt get over run. It was my secret years ago :) Take a golf cart up into the mountains, amazing areas with awesome views. I travelled solo twice to this place, many people go here with bach / bachelorette parties and is a younger crowd. What IS your favorite place in MX? You never said.
We're staying in PV, close to downtown this month and we're debating between a day trip to Yelapa or Sayulita. Both seem nice, which would you recommend over the other and why? thanks, great video btw.
Where is another place that you think would be a little bit better? And I’m looking for a place to live and retire, and just hang by the beach and be in the water Guys are obviously quite a bit younger than I am, but I appreciate your input and suggestions
I would check out Bucerias! It’s a lot quieter while still having local culture. It’s very walkable and safe. The beach is long and beautiful. And it’s easy to bus to Puerto Vallarta or Sayulita for day trips! You can check out this video if you want to see more: th-cam.com/video/7E6ceQAfnCc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YQ4p78lPFreDRryS
We're working on it but unfortunately there's an extremely high demand for life-sized bronze statues so the waitlist for getting it commissioned it rather long. Hopefully it'll be finished in the next 7-10 years 🤞
I would work on your camera skills. The jumping videos was very distracting. I would consider something with a stabilizer. There seemed to be not a clear focus for your video. I love Sayulita. I did see some things that I hadn't seen before. Thank you for your time.
It’s ok to say it has changed for the worse. Because it has. It was awesome 10 years ago. Now like you say it’s ruined by instagramming partying idiots. Pumping electronic music every night now. It sucks. Tulum has been ruined too and Puerto Escondido is on the same path. Sayulita is now overcrowded, loud, dirty and overpriced.
2 light book socks, two winter boot socks, 2 cotton pants, 2 nyon over pants, 3 shirts cotton, 2 synthetic long sleeve zip neck sweaters, 1 jacket, rain poncho, beret, cap, 10 bandanas, 2 cool scarves, I wool scarf, down jacket, cell phone and charger and cord, flashlight, 12 sets of ear plugs, spoon, plastic containers, 6 egg box, budget book, hidden passport and money pouch, visible kangaroo for phone and some cash, stash of 100$ bills hidden, pens, notebooks, snacks, fruit in day pack.
I wanted to comment on your great video on packing stuff to carry long term. But no place to comment. I found this more recent site. I'm in Nepal and India 3 years plus because of covid lockdown. I throw away cheap stuff and give away better stuff. To travel light. No attachment to gear. 😊
talk about the beaches in terms of swimming. I heard the ocean there has a dangerous rip tide? Don't see you guys in the water except at Playa de los Meurtos.
This video is nicely done but it actually doesn't really convey any information specific to the place. It's too general. you could have filmed it anywhere and just changed the name. The title has no relationship to the content either.
Did you watch the video? We gave lots of information about how Sayulita has changed - even locals agree - and we gave a run down of what you need to know about Sayulita while showing you around the town. I'd say that's pretty location specific and connected to the title. Not sure what else you were expecting?
Great Video 👍 May I ask for help? Might any of you have encountered a woman who walks around selling her homemade big cookie covered Cocada. She has a big wooden tray with 4 different types of coconut flavors she wraps around a big cookie. Very Delicious! Might you know her contact info, Her Name, contact number. What day she sells them around the beach and beach front restaurants? I so appreciate it.
Yeah I will say it for you guys, Sayulita sucks and is a lot busier in the the last 10 years, you cant even breathe for all the people..... The local gringos are trying to control the area and make it tough for other gringos to live and work there..
That place is a shitshow of gringos and tourists. I don’t recommend Sayulita if you want an authentic Mexican experience. Also the wave is a mushy beginner wave- need to go when there is a hurricane or winter swell.
dont swim in the ocean right in front of the town. that where all the sewage goes. you can see a big plastic tube running out there. walk to the north end of the beach where it is much more natural.
What do you think... is Sayulita a place you'd like to visit or has it changed too much??
I grew up here. I’m 54. I can tell you all the changes. Still beautiful

We LOVED the sunsets in Sayulita! So peaceful and beautiful at the beaches outside of town ☺️
Great content. You guys do a great job explaining the surroundings.
I live your videos and link information. I used Safety Wing insurance per one of your video recommendations,, when we went to Ecuador a few months ago. Thank you!!
We love to hear that!! We only promote brands we actually use already so we’re happy when people use them too 😄
We visited Sayulita for a day while staying in San Poncho. A whole lot less people and more interaction with locals in San Poncho.
We went to San Poncho for a day trip too and it was lovely! But the beaches were more rocky than Sayulita.

an extortion

Agree with you guys, Sayulita change a lot, awesome video and tacos too.. 🌮😋 amazing sunset..!! Hi from Zihuatanejo..🤙🏽

Both are worth checking out. Completely different vibes. Yelapa is very laid back and much slower pace than sayulita.
I do Agree it's still very beautiful but getting a little bit to crowded fory taste to.
What about places to rent? Would you suggest that it’s a good place to try to live as a single adult in my 60s
