- In this video I'm playing Heart of the Sunrise by Yes from the album Fragile (Originally played by Master Drummer; Bill Bruford). I'm am now 18 years old (16 when I shot the video) and I live in Kfar Saba, Israel.
In this video, I am playing: ab Drums and Soultone Cymbals. This video was recorded in June, 2012 in Jan Jacques Studio in Tel-Aviv, Israel. I'm currently playing in three band: Moofie, Laughing Stock and Floating Ships.
I'll happily accept suggestions of more songs for me to cover :)

Hey everybody! sorry for dissapearing like that... this video was taken just before i got into all the crazyness of the final exams in school and right after that, starting my army service in the IDF Orchestra. I have wanted to post another drum cover for some time now, but free time has been scarce.
The good thing is, I'm currently working on covering Close to the Edge, so keep an eye out for that!
Thank you so much for all your support, it has been amazing reading all your comments and it kept inspiring me to keep drumming and making music and to aim higher and higher.

back in the 80's I heard an interview with Bruford where he said "I was basically a Jazz Drummer in YES, I thought I was playing Rock, no one told me Rock drummers played this simple stuff, I though I was playing rock, turns out I was playing Jazz"

All the best rock drummers had jazz backgrounds. Thats where they got their chops. My dumbass decided to practice rock as a kid and now i can barely double stroke roll at 23 because you NEVER do that in rock songs. Same with paradiddles

Awesome playing. Bruford's one of the best. His mix of rhythms and percussion techniques keep the flow of those unusual Yes arrangements moving along.
In my opinion the most well-drummed song of all time. A masterpiece.
seeing this @ 2021... and Im really cant understand why i never get into this chanel before, im a big fan of bruford, this guy, with peart, and a few some others guys are trully masters of drum, and you simply nailed it, i remember when i was young and i tried to play this music with an imaginary drum (playing in the air) ....... subed with great pleasure

I love how Bruford can turn the drums into a piano. This cover was AWESOME.
Played the way it SHOULD be played! Bill's drumming in Yes was so interesting, so - jazzy and unexpected behind Howe Squire and Wakeman. When Bill left and Alan White came on the music of Yes lost this edginess. Their music was thereafter just rock. A lot of good music, yes. But nothing like this! Bravo!
Alan fit in ok with Yes. But he didn't add much to the band. Bill really gave them a unique jazzy sound.
I totally agree what your saying, but the band kept improving in the composition. My favorite is a couple of years after Bruford left, Gates of Delirium,
And only a new keyboard player brought back some feelings of it😂

This just goes to show how important a drummer is to a band. Bill Bruford's style of playing was the foundation of Yes. When he left the sound changed completely, and not for the better. This is magnificent!

Great job. I "attempted" this song when I was about 16, and figured I got it close enough to right, but, as I've recently picked up the drums again, I realized, what I thought was "good enough" wasn't. What is the sticking between the HH and the Snare at the opening, (its obviously used throughout the 7 and 9 meter sections), the rest is pretty simple. You nailed it at your age. Incredible.

By far, this is one of the hardest song to play as a drummer. You nailed it! When I first clicked on this, I thought it would be a disaster. I was wrong. Great job.

I wish our drummer would attempt this! My props to you! It's amazing anyone would even try to play this, and you pull it off quite well indeed. Bruford is one of my favorite musicians. To bad you and I are separated by an ocean, I would love to jam with you. Been working on the guitar, bass and drums to 'Siberian Khatru'. Tough stuff, but fun.
