HI Matthias! Thanks for the tour, nice shop! It's great you're doing well enough that you are outgrowing your shop. I totally understand as our barn was so big when it was built but not anymore! lol. Yes, that sink right inside the door is a great thing for the shop! Good to see you, thanks for the video. Stay safe, healthy and hope you have a Happy New Year!
Appreciate the comment! Yes, even if the shop was twice the size, we’d probably just have more stuff lying around that we don’t need/use. Happy New Year to you as well!
Thanks for the shop tour Matthias! So many great things you have incorporated into the shop! Couldn’t pick just one that I liked , #1the nut bolt storage area 💯#2great lighting#3 Geo thermal slab heating & cooling #4 is the 3 foot change out sheets at the bottom! Very smart idea! Have a safe ,healthy, happy, prosperous 🎊New Year!🎊 👋
As my Father always said. figure out how big you need your shop, then build it twice as big, because when it's done it's half as big as it should have been.
Great video and I could not agree with you more. Shops and garages can never be too big. They are just like a pair of blue jeans. Even if they are too big to start with pretty soon you grow into them and next thing you know they are too tight!😢
Very neatly organized and impressive workshop you have there. I did however not see any area for metal welding and cutting or space for storing new and perhaps old, but useful metal. Storage of metal is a problem, at least in my workshop. Storage outside under two feet of snow is a real pain. Do have a separate welding shop/area or do you contracts those jobs? Happy New Year to You
Thanks for watching. Yes, we have our welder and scrap metal in another building. We are not master welders so it’s mostly used for quick repairs. Welding is something I’m wanting to learn more about however. Happy New Year!
I worked 3 weeks straight on it and then realized I was maybe in over my head. 😅 So I switched to working on it only 1-2 hours a weeks for a couple years. Sorting the hardware isn’t the most mind bending of work, so this method was more feasible. In all, it took a LOT longer than I had anticipated. I wouldn’t even have a guess how many hours I have invested at this point
Morton
I concur
Cost approximately with the geothermal and big doors.
Matthias, extremely nice shop, organized to perfection. Geothermal heat as well! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! It’s almost like a second home during the winter months

Luke, glad you liked the shop tour! All of the planning and preparing for this building has paid off on our end. Have a blessed New Year!
Nice tour of your working farm shop Matthias. I am going to share this video with my friend in Western NY. His farm shop could use some of your ideas.
Thanks for the positive comments! Is he putting up a new shop or just some of the organization hacks?
a clean shop is a happy shop!!
My thought exactly!
love our morton building
Yes! Built with quality in mind

There’s a lot of truth in that statement!

😅 this is an analogy I’m going to use now! Thanks for the comment and a good laugh. Happy New Year!
looks grate. You're hired.
Hired to clean up your shop? 😅

Nice shop
Thanks!
Nice organization. How long over all did you need for it. You just mentioned more than 3 weeks.

What do you use for video editing? Great video bro!
Appreciate it! Been using a plethora of different ones to see which ones I like most. This one was made with VN
It is nice
Thanks! We like it a lot!
What was your favorite thing about our farm shop?
Heating and cooling system in the floor with geothermal? How well does it work for both? Nice video thanks!
Works extremely well! In the winter it never drops below 45 degrees and in the heat of summer. Never over 75 degrees. I love it!!
How wide is your loft? And what kind of floor drain did you go with?
12ft wide, I’d say that’s about right for the size we need. Drain fills into a septic tank
How much does it cost?
