HiTech Farmer
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 27 พ.ย. 2021
Matthias, aka HiTech Farmer, is a 5th generation family farmer from Southwest Minnesota who promotes agriculture by capturing it through the lens of a camera, one video at a time. Passionate about emerging farm technologies and the benefits of 21st-century precision agriculture tools, such as farm equipment, GPS, and autonomous tractors, Matthias is determined to bring new methods into his operation. These methods can improve his farm's efficiency and sustainability into the future. Learning from his parents' (Mike and Dawn) work ethic, Matthias sees every day as an opportunity to educate and entertain about the daily triumphs and challenges his farm faces, whether technology-related or not. His mission is to share his enthusiasm and knowledge of agriculture as he embarks on what it means to be a farmer in the modern era.
Farming Broke Me
I experienced a life-changing farm accident two months ago that not only tested me physically but also challenged me mentally in ways I never expected. In this video, I’m opening up about the injury, my journey to recovery, and how the farm has shaped me-both for better and for worse.
By sharing my story, I hope to inspire others who might be going through tough times to keep pushing forward and find strength in the struggle. This isn’t about seeking pity-it’s about building connection, understanding, and resilience.

Farm Accident Ruins My Harvest
มุมมอง 23K28 วันที่ผ่านมา
Farming is one of the most dangerous professions, and September 28, 2024, is a day I will never forget on my family's farm. In today’s video, I share my recent farm accident that happened this harvest season and reflect on the many blessings in my life. Fortunately, while I’ve been at home recovering, my brother Matt picked up the slack-and the camera-to share the corn harvest through his lens....

Soybean harvest continues to roll on as we begin harvesting some of the first replanted areas before switching over to combining corn. Join my brother Matt in today's video as he is home for the weekend helping on the farm. See what equipment problems the day starts with on the John Deere soybean header, and then watch until the end to see a bird's-eye view of some of the soybean areas that are...
This is Making Harvest a Pain!
มุมมอง 2.5Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Harvesting the soybean fields this year feels more like driving our farm equipment through a maze than a field, because of the 13 inches of rain in June and replanted areas. Join me today as I take the reins of the combine and harvest the areas of the fields that are dry. Learn about why we drive around the wet soybeans and the current plan to harvest them. Also, see John Deere's Machine Sync i...
We've Never Faced THIS When Harvesting Soybeans
มุมมอง 5Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Day 1 of soybean harvest is here, and we're back in the fields with the farm equipment in action! We're kicking off by harvesting the soybeans we planted in May, but we're also facing a unique challenge with the replanted beans from early July. While today's harvest was dry and ready, those replanted beans still have some growing to do before they're ready-if we even combine them. Join me on th...
This Is Going To Be A Nightmare!
มุมมอง 7Kหลายเดือนก่อน
This year has been anything but normal, and after Day 1 of combine harvesting, it's very evident this harvest is going to be a nightmare. With the 13-inch rain event hammering our fields in June, the effects still linger as the season comes to an end. The massive flooding made our corn very short and highly variable in moisture, which is making it extremely difficult to properly set the farm eq...

The grain bin problem ends today as we get creative in our efforts to solve the water issue in our grain pit. In today's video, we tackle a 3-year problem head-on by using the world's largest vacuum and a pressure washer to dig a drainage hole. Follow along on this adventure as, once the hole is dug, I take our first harvested load of soybeans to the elevator just in time to earn a premium. Let...

We've never had an issue with our Brent grain cart-until now! In today’s video, we start with essential farm equipment maintenance on the bean head and trailer in preparation for the upcoming soybean harvest. We’re DONE Spending Money on the Farm

With near-record high input prices and a historic 130-year flood hitting our farm in June, this year’s production challenges seem endless. Combine that with record low prices in the grain markets for corn and soybeans, and we're making tough decisions to save money in the challenging farming economy. Join me in today's video as I tackle weed control in our flooded spots that drowned out and mak...
Farm Technology Like You’ve NEVER Seen

Are Spray Drones the Future? (I Put Them to The Test)
มุมมอง 1.8K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
NEW TECHNOLOGY comes to the farm as we fight back against the weeds that have been growing in our cornfields after the heavy early-season rains washed away our corn crop. Today, Bob from Midwest Drone Applications visits the farm with his DJI Agras T50 drone to apply chemical to our drown-out areas. Without technology like this, we would struggle to find a solution to get into our standing corn...
Bin Site Problem! (We CANNOT Ignore)

We’ve had ENOUGH of the water entering our 12-foot-deep grain pit, causing rust, rot, and headaches during harvest at the farm. First, we test every bin fan to ensure they’re ready for fall, sweep out every last kernel from the grain bins, and begin preparing the grain ...
