Very impressed considering what it is. It looked to have counter rotating drive shafts for the front and rear drive shafts. Having 1/10 scale trucks some of the older designs don't have that, this helps with torque twist and very cool to see.
Yes indeed it does. The C54 came out with that and it is an interesting touch.

There have been some interesting releases in the small scale end of the hobby, as I'm sure you're aware of. Have you seen the Kart 80 from Minimum RC (Sengi brand)? A funny ~1/13th go kart kit! 🤩 Loved the building experience. LDRC are at it again with their drift models and I couldn't pass a metal diecast one.
This pick-up looks really nice and I'd have all the WPL models if I could, but that category is filled with a C-24 already. 😛

Yes the improvements are the fun parts.
Rather odd feature at 6:11, the C64-1 and C74 receiver has no dual rate for throttle but rather drag brake and non-drag brake. If I'm right, there are two versions of the WPL BC receiver, the one with dual throttle and the one with drag brake in place of that dual throttle. I have both, I ordered a couple WPL BC receiver that has dual rate for throttle but interestingly my C74 has a receiver that doesn't go faster, instead it has drag brake.
I saw the drag brake function. This was added later with the revised rec/esc combo. Neat option for sure.
@@AMPROEngineering Yes, it's neat but also confusing since some of the transmitters still have the H/L throttle rate on the button instead of BRAKE so you ended up thinking it will give a stronger electrical power to the motor but it enables the drag brake instead. At least the 370 motor does have higher RPM so it does go faster by default than the 260.

The body looks nice, but it sits so, so high. Like crazy bro dozer with a huge lift kit. And those wheels are huge and look even less scale on this one than on something like the C24.
Yeah I am not a fan of the height but I think it needs some wider tires to get that mini monster look.
My WPL C54-1 RTR is still stock expect for its motor.. it is now 1 year and 7 months old.. even the drive shaft is still original..
Same here. There was a time where WPL drive shafts would break on the first run so it is awesome to see the improvements.
@@AMPROEngineering the C54 rtr was a big improvement over the old gen WPLs. New chassis, new gearbox, new linkages and i love the panhard system.. of you compare the C54 rtr drive shaft with the previous C24, the C54 drive shaft is thicker and beefier..

Use Larger motor like 380 or 540 will be nice
The C54-1 video uses the optimal motor for this model. A 540 would ruin everything about the model including the CG. This is a small car.
A high RPM 180 is enough for 1/16 scale, a lower RPM 370 is the best for torque, a 540 is detrimental because you have to modify so much.

I love this vehicle, but I can’t find a dependable source for upgraded parts. 😢 waited two weeks for the wrong kit and have to send it back to china to get my money back to hopefully buy the right parts and that was from a highly recommended vendor.
Yes locating parts on eBay is hard. WPL does have a number of upgrades on their website and now this is the only way I go for parts.
@@AMPROEngineering hopefully the axles will be back in stock soon, I signed up to be notified yesterday. It’s also the only place I’ve seen upgraded shocks for it. One of my back shocks doesn’t work correctly.

Sure! I just use a selfie stick and set the camera to 60 fps then play at 1/2 speed. Looks nice but so many are better than me at it.

No, as I covered in the end, there is a simple fix for it but I do not think it was acceptable to sell it like this.
WPL’s the greatest plastic models you can drive lol.
Only if you choose to forget about FMS. While my WPLs look fantastic, both stock and done up, they're nowhere near as great looking as my FMS 1/12 Jimny. :)
For the price, you cant beat them.
Yeah but WPL's are bigger and way cheaper than the 1/18 FMS cars. I have a pile of FMS cars too and love them.
@@AMPROEngineering True, they are way cheaper, and they look great. I have four C24s, a B24 and a D12. I also just received a C44KM last week, but the cab was completely smashed to bits inside the box, so WPL has sent me a new one. Can't wait to build that one. They look so good.
The 1/12 FMS rigs do look even better though, and quality wise they're a couple of steps above a WPL, plus they have nicer features. And they are like 2-3 times the price of a WPL. :)
@@Br0rB The C24 is the best one out of everything honestly. It has a large battery space and high ground clearance for that price, unbeatable. Probably the one I recommend to anyone.
how is yours so bouncy when you drive? mine is very stiff. the shocks don't bounce at all like that.
Hmmmm, have you decreased the tension of the springs but unscrewing the shock preloads? They have threaded shock bodies so I think I backed mine down quite a bit.
@@AMPROEngineering no never thought of that. thanks. these lil cheap things have a lot of potential. while im here do you have any suggestions for good shocks for the hg p407? recently i got metal bumpers and side guards and now its so heavy it decompresses the shocks. solid metal, not aluminum bumpers.
hey that worked!! its much better now. also one of my shocks kept getting stuck cuz the shaft was wobbly but i put vasoline on it and its perfect now
