I love it when the foiling is thematic appropriate for the art. Coronet Peak is one of my favorite cold foils for that reason, the shimmering crown of ice is just too cool.

Great vid. I agree with you mostly - Im team cold foil - but I love the Rfs that hit hard. Vids like these are a good chance to take another moment to appreciate how great the cards, art and foiling are

I always go for CF, it's humid where I live so RF tends to curl in no time.
CF's are very nice for this reason.
I love the RFs, but they don't look very rainbow on camera. RF Abyssal Quiver looks properly psychedelic IRL.
Sometimes they pick out different parts of the image with different treatments, too, like Silken Gi RF hits all the petals and Sash of Sandikai RF just hits the patterns. Any Legendaries do this? I don't usually get to compare.
I was a bit bummed with how the camera didn't pick up the foiling on the RF's much. I tried a few different ways, and for me I could only get the ones with the biggest pop to show well, which unfortunately were all cards that didn't have CF's to compare with.
I think the Legendary RF and CF match for what is treated mostly, though I'd have to dive deeper to be certain.

Cold foils just have that 'bling', but a few miss the mark. Spellbound Creepers CF looks terrible (so bad I thought mine was fake when I got it).
Agreed, they can be hit or miss.

There definitely is one, I have it in my binder. I think I said there is no rainbow foil version in Dynasty.

I like RF flamescale furnace over the CF version.

Also, mask of many faces looks better as RF over CF to me, because more detail is retained on the RF.
I feel this way a lot too. Though I don't have a Mask of Momentum to compare unfortunately!

I do have 2 RF mask of many faces an 1 CF.
The CF one sort of looks more graphic novel comic panel style art, some detail is muted.
The RF one highlights details that you don't pick up on with the regular version.
Mask of many faces is a very cool artwork to begin with.
@@hamsandwich6685 Whoops, I read the first comment wrong! I do like the RF highlights a lot. Some of my favorite cards in FAB are RF. If it weren't for the borders, I'd probably choose RF most of the time due to the details.
It definetly looks better sometimes, it has just the essence. More important was or is, that cards NEVER get reprinted as cold foil. It seems same with rf atm but i expect that to change in future. Maybe this happens only to FaB 2.0 cards or whatever, idk but the essence of cf would not exsist besides the look if they do the same for rainbowfoils and dont reprint them as such.
Also, i wanna get some cnc and estrike foils, would be kinda sad if ive never get the chance for that again.

I wouldn't be surprised if they don't reprint RF again. I didn't like the idea at first, but it is starting to grow on me.
@@mastersetmadness really?? Idk, kinda takes away too much of the flavour of cold foils and something thats soo unique to FaB. But yeah, idk im curious and still will most definitly always go for the cf one, if they gona get on par pricely with the rfs even better, hehe

There are so many ways to collect. It would be challenging to narrow it down to a few cards since I like having them all :)

I feel that the rainbow foils feel "dim" especially noticeable near the card name where the contrast between the black text and white background is more yellowish and not as crisp to read as either a non-foil or cold foil card.
This makes me prefer non-foil cards over rainbow foil cards.
The contrast really jumps out when you see them side by side. I prefer the lighter text backgrounds also.
