    This vid was EXACTLY what I was looking for, so thorough and precise, thank you! I love my new V15, I just needed a little guidance on how to use it and all the attachments. The hair screw attachment has been life changing for me, I can run it over my comforter without it getting sucked up and all the dog hair still comes clean off, its amazing!

    Just purchased one of these after getting tired of dragging my full size Dyson Animal and it's various attachments around the house to clean my hardwood floors. With 3 cats and 4 bedrooms (1500 sq ft of hard floors), I thought I would need a spare battery. I was able to vacuum my whole house and an area rug with 5 minutes of power remaining. It does an OK job on a low pile rugs, but eats up battery power. For everyday light carpet maintenance, the V15 is good, but for a deep clean the Dyson Animal excels in picking up animal hair.
    Best of all, no cords and no heavy vacuum with attachments to drag around. Bought a stand on Amazon and it fits nicely in my laundry room. Never thought I would want to vacuum with the lights off. Floors feel a lot nicer walking barefoot on. Definitely makes it easy to maintain your hard floors. Highly recommened.

      Thanks for the comment! Glad you’re happy with yours! While Dyson’s corded vacuums generally clean carpeting better, their best cordless stick vacs are best-in-class, and they’re so convenient in comparison.

    Just purchased the V15 to help out the Deebot N8 Pro robot vac with tile floors with area rugs. The V15 really helps with stairs, corners, closets, fabric furniture, window sill/blinds, and parts of the floor the robot vac can't reach. Spot cleaning and deep cleaning of high traffic areas are excellent.

      Thanks, Jonah! I really appreciate the nice comment. I've been using cordless Dysons since the first model DC16, which I bought 11 years ago. Dyson's cordless vacs remain best-in-class!

    • @jonah_herring
      @jonah_herring 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VacTech1 if you don’t mind me asking you, we have been looking at the last few cordless dysons as potential candidates, but I was wondering how your battery lifespan and longevity have been. We don’t want to get something that is going to die relatively quickly. Also, would you consider the cordless trade off to be worth any battery shortfalls?

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jonah_herring The cordless convenience is absolutely worth it. As you go up in the line, the battery life and carpet-cleaning performance increases, so the V7 and V8 don't have as good of battery life as the V11 or V15. Battery longevity seems to be good on these. I've personally never had a battery fail, but I've sold my old models as I've upgraded. A V6 I sold recently got a new battery, but that vac was 6 years old. Dyson has claimed the newer models batteries are supposed to last a long time (like 10+ years, but time will tell).

      @@balkangetawaySorry for late reply. My first I got many years ago. I can’t remember model. It was heavy upright. It was a beast. It sucked the most difficult without any problem. After many years of use, it started to smell. I couldn’t get to open the cyclone part because I was afraid to break it. Dyson should make it easy to open and clean. Every time I used it, it made my house smell like a wet dog. It also fell down stairs. It still worked, but I decided to get a Shark Apex. Wrong move. I also still have an older cordless Dyson I use for restroom and stairs. So now I have two Dyson. They do last. I just like vacuums. I also use a Roomba J7 Plus that I love using because it gets under the beds. I vacuum a lot.😂 Still loving this v15. Still awesome.

    It was difficult for me to spend that much on a vacuum but I decided to suck it up and go for it (pun intended). I spent most of my life using terrible vacuums and this vacuum actually made me ENJOY vacuuming. I like the fluffy sweeper head because my whole apartment has hard floor and a stair entryway. Very impressive demo as usual! Well done man! This looks impresisve, would love to see what it's like against my V11. I'm a bit skeptical about the mini motirised tool though, the V11 one performs very well and grooms better than anything I've used on stairs, however the new anti tangle one doesn't look like it'll edge clean well or groom well, I think they should provide the V11 style tool as well. This one should be their cordless version of the tangle free head and the V11 style as a deep cleaner for stairs etc
    I do like how the clear window can be removed for washing! If they did that on the torque head that would be perfect!

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So you're right about the hair screw tool and edge cleaning. Keep the crevice tool handy!
      The grooming seems similar to the old one, but the side suction path means pickup can suffer if the whole attachment doesnt make contact with the surface. This can actually be seen when I vacuumed the ottoman.

    Another informative video demonstrating the capabilities of the Dyson V15. I do feel the hair test could use some more real world thought behind it. Having the hair lined up all in the same direction and only partially embedded into the carpet displays perfect world conditions rather than what most people will encounter. I also felt passing the V15 slowly over the hair was a bit unrealistic as who really vacuums at that speed?

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are good points! I will keep your feedback in mind for future demos. These tests are just for fun, but the hair test could use some tweaking for both fairness and real-world accuracy. I think everyday hair it will handle without issue.

    Great video as always! Have you tried changing the auto power level adjustment in the menu? I ask because I am on my third V15 now. The first two had major software issues that required them to be returned. The only thing I have done differently with this third V15 that still works is that I never adjusted the sensitivity. I kept it at medium whereas I change the first two vacs to low. It’s great when it works but I am to the point where I have to treat it with kid gloves because I am so worried about it dying like the first two V15s did on me. It’s absolutely my last Dyson I will ever be buying new at full price. I’ll stick with my bagged vacs that never let me down.

It has extra tools, a special connection that has a built in pull out crevice tool, a joint that allows the machine to flex under low items, and an advanced filter that filters even more dirt out than even any cinetic vac dyson's made. 0.1 microns vs 0.3 from any hepa filtered dyson from the regular v15 and below - better than any other stick vac, upright, and canister with a hepa

      Thanks! As well as the V15 works, I would still recommend having a corded vacuum around (like the Workhorse), to periodically deep clean carpeting. The Dyson is best-in-class, but many corded vacuums will still deep clean carpeting much better. They'll also revitalize the carpet nap better.

I have one with 350W engine and it's ok for dust, but it can't really take anything heavier than dust, I guess insert battery with higher voltage is not possible because electronics would be burned or detected wrong voltage and stop working. Today accu cleaners are still like babies, but with like 40V battery and 500W motor, it could be really usefull, but such cleaners are expensive.

    • @battery_wattage
      @battery_wattage 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It turns out that Dyson’s V15 comes standard with a true HEPA filter. The one you are talking about with a blue filter is the one Dyson is marketing as HEPA. Instead of capturing 99.99% of particles 0.3 micron, it can capture 99.97% of particles 0.1 micron. It can basically capture debris about 3X smaller with higher efficiency. A standard HEPA filter usually can only capture about 99.00% of particles 0.1 micron, or 1 for every 100. Dyson’s new filter can capture those sized particles at 99.97% efficiency, or 1 for every 3,000.

    I just bought this vac 2 days ago and I’m having issues vacuuming my medium pile carpet. It’s standard carpet, maybe a little less than .5”. On auto, no matter if the gate is completely open, I can feel the suction clamp down on the floor while using it and the head stops. I can’t seem to find any setting that works other than eco, which seems crazy to think on a $700 vac I can’t use the higher or even medium power. What were your findings in this department in regards to suction on eco on carpet? How was the cleaning performance - I’m wondering how much cleaning performance I’m using on that mode.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly I found the same issue. It clamps down more than the V11, thanks to the increased suction, but similar brushroll agitation. I've had to open the gates to make it work on certain types, and having to use eco on certain carpeting wouldn't surprise me. With eco and the gates open, it's not going to clean as well as the auto mode, which has much more suction.

I can’t wait until the V15 is released in the U.K. Dyson are strange with their model line ups; I notice you guys in the US don’t have the new Small Ball 2 vacuums, which are the DC41s with a cleaner head more or less the same as a V11 with those gates and full width cleaning. You guys have the old 41 MK2 ones but Dyson are most likely focusing on their cordless models now, while still selling those corded models. The small ball 2 is only £200 as well.

      The bristles are way to soft and short for agitation that’s comparable to an good upright. It will certainly preform better than cheap model where you are like beko, goblin, modern Hoover etc. When stacked against similar prices vacs however, the V15 gets left in the dust. It’s absolutely not a replacement for a mains powered machine and shame on Dyson for pushing that narrative. I do agree that their lineup is very weird. We did actually get one upright with the new head, the small ball. Other than that it’s all the older stuff, which is a shame.

Wish they were cheaper for us here in the states so they were more mainstream, but I still own one of every model because I love them so much. You certainly don’t have to believe me either, but you can’t ignore facts and the fact is that’s it’s the bristles and brushroll that matter when it comes to agitation. The softer the bristles are, the less they are going to agitate. Also why do you think you you need to replace brushrolls and brushstrips? It’s because once the bristles wear down and become short, they no longer properly clean and just skim along the carpet. That’s exactly what red bristles do. Uh oh! I would take the brushbar out, let it fully dry, and hope for the best. Maybe put a fan on it to hopefully dry out the motor. There's a circuit board inside the brushbar motor, and the water might have destroyed it. Sadly you may have to replace it. You can take them apart to get any water out, but it's not particularly user-friendly to do (lots of small screws). I hope you can save it, if not, maybe contact Dyson and see if they'll send you a replacement head under warranty.

      Probably not long in comparison, it’s got fancy tech and the battery obviously isn’t going to last 4 years without degradation. The traditional dysons were cheaper and can be taken apart very easily and parts are readily available so it’s more affordable but sadly they aren’t developing that stuff anymore. £300 vacuums now transpire to £500 cordless vacuums with only one battery which costs around £100 to replace. Overall i would get one but I don’t think it will last the 9 years our current dyson has.

    I recently purchased a v15 detect after having a shark cordless and although suction is great it’s impossible to use on thicker carpets even When in auto mode. It will literally clamp and then cut out .I then have to switch to eco mode. I’ve tried adjusting the gates but makes no difference whatsoever. It kind of defeats the object and not what I would expect from such an expensive vacuum.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sadly it's a problem with most new Dysons. If you find it's a bear to push on your carpeting, even in eco mode and with the gates open, there are no further remedies. The problem is that the V15's brushroll agitation can't keep up with the strong suction, so instead of pulling it along, it just seals to the floor and quits. It doesnt have the brushroll drive to power through all types of carpeting. I hope you find something that will work for all the flooring in your home!

And can’t use booster function. Only eco which is low suction. An utter waste of £600 anc I think dyson should be more honest that it’s best for wooden floors or tiles or cheap low pile carpet.
