If I had the money to buy a bible that costs more than $150, it would be either the ESV Study Bible, the ESV Lutheran Study Bible published by Concordia (not to be confused with the NRSV Lutheran Study Bible used by the ELCA), or the KJV Reformation Heritage Study Bible, though only one of them. I prefer three ribbon markers in my reading bible, but just one works with a study bible. Thanks for reviewing this top of the line ESV Study Bible. Your review of the Buffalo Leather edition was one of the reasons I chose to by another ESV Study Bible. The Buffalo Leather editions stays home. 🙂
I have the blue goatskin version of this Bible, and it's very lovely. Oddly enough, I have the R.L. Allan version in highland goatskin in a smaller footprint and printed in China, but there is less showthrough than the LEGO version. Still an incredible Bible though.
Hi Tim, I like my hardback thumb indexed ESV study Bible but I'm wondering if the LEGO paper is worth tracking down an Heirloom. Would you say the paper made a huge difference in usability?

I left you a comment on Instagram (which I don't use very often and I left Facebook a long time ago) with an offer. Not sure how much you would consider so went with a price that a new premium bible like a Schyler would go for. $250 and that's up for negotiation Tim. I use my ESV study bible (an inexpensive Crossway trutone edition) but would really like to upgrade and would use every day.
