- Are you familiar with The Villages in Florida? If so, it might be because you have a loved one who decided to retire there. That’s because it’s a huge retirement community that is geared towards the 55 and over the crowd. And it’s become a fantastic place to live and spend your retirement because of the many amenities, great food and shopping offerings, recreation available, and more. But, for many of those same reasons, it’s also a great place to visit! In this video, we’re going over some of the best things that The Villages in Florida has to offer.

For starters, we give you a little history of the area, because it has a fascinating story. What started as an area that sold land by mail order has now turned into a thriving retirement community that sees a ton of visitors every year. Then we get into some of our picks to eh top things to do while you’re visiting. We talk about two of the top spots for dining, shopping, and live entertainment: Sumter Landing Market Square and Spanish Springs Town Square. Then we talk about the two best places to catch a flick in town, as well as our picks for the best breakfast, lunch, and dinner in The Villages.
We talk about some of the great outdoor areas as well, such as the Sharon Rose Wiechens Preserve, which is the largest nature preserve in the area. Plus we get into the best places for some recreational activities, like jogging on the Lake Miona Fitness Trail or hitting up the facilities at the excellent Eisenhower Regional Recreation Center. FYI, no indoor pool or restaurant at the Eisenhower Rec Center. But it’s a fabulous place honoring all those who have served our country.

For a minute there I thought you actually lived in The Villages until I noticed that you didn’t mention Brownwood Square or Sawgrass Grove, but still not a bad video 👍

Outdated information. Movie theaters are closed.
Only one of the theaters is closed.....There is still a theater open.
But, but what about The Villages 60K plus golf carts and paths and tunnels? Most famous as a go cart anywhere in The villages, as a golf cart community....
Golf carts are fun! Just came back from villages and like how some carts have been fitted with parts that look Like a rolls royce, classic truck etc. Not sure if I would want to be there full time. I would need to use GPS forever because it all looks the same and multiples of some stores and restaurants.

The Villages would not exist were it not for SS. These Federal welfare checks should be eliminated.
