I must say, when Alex left, I was worried whether car throttle could survive. For some reason I felt reluctant to start watching again. However having just binged all of the GTI series and throughly enjoyed it, I don’t know what I was worried about. The chemistry between jack, Ethan and Edwin is great and you guys are more than capable of standing on your own 2 feet. Keep it up guys 👍🏼
I have a 924 as a daily for the past 5 years. Am glued to this adventure you boys are on! Cant wait to see the supercharger. Also, replace EVERYTHING on the ignition side. They need a super strong spark to kick over reliably (especially in winter). I've tried a few and NKG leads seem decent. Also get a battery with slightly higher CCA rating than standard. Oh and good luck with the mystical WUR

Honestly just binged like 2 hours of this channel. Watched some of the older cheap car challenges then randomly got recommended the newer stuff like the Volvo and the Saab being priced up and its only had me laughing my ass off at 4am on a Sunday. I think its only gotten funnier without Alex tbh - your trio dynamic is great and the banter you have with the various mechanics/dyno specialist/sellers of cars are just top notch.
Love to see this kind of videos. I just fixed up min grandpas old Volvo PV (11134) from 1964, thats been stored in a barn since 1979. Got it besiktad (the swedish version of MOT) on friday last week. Love too work on older cars.

My hats off to you gentlemen! In ancient times I owned an ‘81 Dodge Omni 024 that had a blown 1.7l VW engine. I replaced it with a VW 1.6l with that exact mechanical fuel injection. It took me forever to get that right but it did finally work properly in the end. Kudos!

So proud of Ethan: from losing a screwdrive bit down the soark olug hole on his Honda Jazz on his first ever service, to taking 20 year old stale fuel to the face multiple times and coming back for more in 3 yewrs is one hell of a trajectory! Didn't even seem that bothered when it was pointed out that it wasnt ideal to be breathing in fuel. *Shrug*
I love when you actually bring back a car to life and mint it out in a series. I think you should supercharg it but only after you revive it to top shape. Love the series already.

Brings back memories.Had one of those in 93. Was a T reg so a 79 I think. Had most of the issues you brought up. You become very knowledgeable about k jet quickly with a 924.
These are great cars for this sort of exercise, they respond really well to good mechanical assistance and I love the enthusiasm the lads have for getting at it.
Try finding kibble in the air induction system. Our mechanic discovered that & wondered how it had got there. It turns out mice had been pinching our dog's food & dropping it in various parts of the engine bay! Ours sadly ended up being broken after the new owner (who lived by the sea) lost interest and left it in their garage to rot away. Don't let that happen to yours as they're worth saving!

Had my 924 for 9 years. Had 100,000 miles on it when I bough it and then I put another 100,000 miles on it. Such a great car and so many happy memories including during the 2 years I had it when I was stationed in Germany.

I had one of these when it was 3 years old. Fantastic looking POS. Also had a 1982 Toyota Corona that was 80% rust as a back up because the 924 always shit itself.
Reminds me so much of when I got my 924 started. Mine was waaay worse body wise. K-jet on mine was a hassle for months, working well, hardly working at all on an off. Ripped it out for efi.

Start with something easier. Most importantly, something you can find parts for, reasonably easy.

Shining example of health and safety 😅 Gotta love CIS injection. Top tip, if you wire the batteries in series you'll get double the spark😂😂
