I tinker on cars like this too. I'm waiting for a heart transplant watching this. Mentioned that to the heart surgeon who laughed about the comparison and then said: "It may seem like a surgeon's workto you but I do it with the engine running .... !!!" Classic case of - "You plonker" - there.
While it was a treat to see Eth hanging out with Alex and Miles the Skoda, it's great to see CT going from Strength to Strength. Hopefully we get an AutoAlex/CT collab sometime soon.
Oh wow, this Ciprian guy who makes the supercharger kit is from my hometown, Arad Romania :O Didn't realise I had such a talented Porsche enthusiast in my back yard.
theres a big problem with the silicone pipework on the Intake manifold at 17:45 the pipework expands in pressure blowing it up like a balloon which an intake shouldn't expand right next to the throttle body shouldnt do
20 years ago, I wondered why my $800 1979 924 had a switch on the dash turning on the fuel pump.... absolutely love this series and it brings back memories
Hey guys! Congratulations on getting the supercharger on!!! I live in California and have the same kit from Ciprian that I fit last weekend. Can you share the part number/link to the fan you used?
How does the kit work with the factory cis fuel and ignition systems? I have a rebuilt Mercedes 560sel with the cis fuel system and I want to supercharge it one day , but there seems to be almost zero information on low boost and retaining the cis and the timing under boost. I’m not doing stand-alone as I’m in California so I need stealth and it to be easily removable for emissions
Car Throttle used to be a channel I checked out every few months at best. Now I actually look forward to each new video. The boys are doing a tremendous job with this channel!
For the block holes that needed retapping, you can use a bore brush (gunsmithing) on a drill with some PB to super clean them pre-thread tapping/cleaning. But if they so bad that all the original threads have deteriorated you gotta bore and helicoil it.
Great job! The engine bay looks great and having the car running always is an achievement. Great series as well, entertaining and somewhat wholesome. Keep it up!
I love the content and videos. People can watch these videos for inspiration. Loving the knowledge Ethan has gained over the 12 years, keep up the great work
I have always watched but was never a massive fan of car throttle when Alex was the main man but weirdly this and auto Alex are fast becoming my favourite channels👌 not sure what didn't work that now does😂
Rumour has it Ethan is secretly a master mechanic. Love child of Scotty Kilmer and Ed China. Raised in a scrap yard and forced to eat spanners and spark plugs. Apparently, 20th Century Fox based the character B.A. Baracus closely on Ethan's build, skin tone and technical skills
Think you could go really far with this car! make it the coolest 924 out there! could you double the horsepower? :-) Guessing this supercharger (with maybe some more bits, custom ECU and, exhaust and so on and on) 140-150'ish if you stress it enough?... but a 200 hp 924 (it's lightweight right?) would be awesome I think... then but some "stay on the bends" kit and race the thing! either gut it and put a seat in or restore the insides and make it nice! would love to see this!
Spot on boys, spot on ,👏👏 Idea for future projects.....have a subscriber draw to win a day with you guys as chief goffor, brew maker, butt of all jokes and general dogs body?
Ethan's work ethic is nothing but fantastic, seeing him single handedly fit a supercharger has changed my mind about his mechanical knowledge
Let's not get carried away
@@Rumpleforeskin77 No no, let him be naive.
Ok ..Ethan could probably run an F1 team now .
I think Ethan actually sorted out the v12 for the new gma didn’t he ?
He’s a mechanical marvel. 😂
Ethan is Car Throttle's James May
I'm so glad to see where this channel is heading. Over the last few months I really have gotten back into enjoying CarThrottle!
@@trolling691 can't agree more! it's so good now
Because Alex is no more!
this comment aged well
12 years at CT what an achievement 🙌 after 12 years Ethan is a fully qualified mechanic what a man ❤
That long running joke about Ethan looking under the oil cap never ceases to amuse me.
The milkman 😂
I guess you could say they're really milking if 🍼🥛
@@stephensmith2027Beautiful 🤌
After the GTI and now this rebuild I am loving this direction of car throttle. Keep finding old bangers and bring them back to life.
I tinker on cars like this too.

Ok, I stand corrected. Not only does it sound AWESOME with the supercharger, but the engine bay looks AMAZING!
Tonight,
Edwin holds some cups, Ethan says grass, and jack wears a beanie
I've read it in Clarkson's voice in my head 😂😂😂
I really like how the car is turning out, i'd really like a car like that too.
I really fcking love this series and the dynamic you three have with this car 😂
What an awesome project! Can't wait to see it properly fixed, detailed and on the street
Oh wow, this Ciprian guy who makes the supercharger kit is from my hometown, Arad Romania :O Didn't realise I had such a talented Porsche enthusiast in my back yard.
you must be younger, like 10-15 years ago he had the bright red 924 with the wide body kit, it was unmistakable around town. Morghen on 4tuning forums
There is little better than spending your 18th birthday binge watching Car throttle videos
Happy birthday champ
Happy Birthday! 🎉

Pump this content straight into my veins, I love seeing the gang work on knackered cars!
Ethan has grown so much over these past few years and his mechanical knowledge is becoming really good.
We love Ethan :)

This car should have been put in the bin, glad you guys are putting the work in to save it.
The porsche 924 series got me to subscribe to this channel. Very entertaining
This has been an epic series, and I can wait for more! I am definitely checking scummy FB marketplace for a 924 to supercharge right now
This is a fantastic project and series. Thank you CarThrottle!
Edwin is a bit of a menace like alex used to be. But in a far more charming way. Good dynamics guys!

Makes me so damn happy that you boys are reviving this old car in a proper way.
You better take it on an adventure when you're done!
I met ciprian last august, very nice guy :)

Loving this project, that poor thing needed some love, you guys are providing
Great video. Started following when you were in an 80s car doing a wiper test. Hooked ever since. Look forward the the next 10 years
Great job! The engine bay looks great and having the car running always is an achievement. Great series as well, entertaining and somewhat wholesome. Keep it up!

Yet another banger. CT has been spashing it with videos the last few months.
Love the dynamic between these three guys!
These video’s are gold! Keep up the good work guys!
Keep it up loves, said it before but really feel like you've found the golden trio, fun plebs to watch.
Ethan saying “Do we?” floored me 😂
Every video, Jack and Edwin's banter is so funny
At 6.35 love the steady handwork
Love the direction of the channel 👏🏻
Great job guys!! Engine bay looks awesome, she sounds crazy too👌
Channel videos are spot on too keep up the good work
Such a cool project, looking forward to seeing it going and hearing the whine from that supercharger
Pretty good to watch and glad you're focussing on affordable cars - nice work boys!!

since I opened my car channel on TH-cam I understood the hard work that goes into every video. congratulations for the channel 🔝
How satisfying did it look once all put together. Edwin's persistentance to clean everything paid off 👍

Was starting to worry about CT but thankfully we have content again
Love this channel, just messing with cars, good bad an ugly, spent my day doing it want to watch it, hilarious
How do you not have your own unit yet? You're one of the biggest car channels on TH-cam!
This Porsche 924 series is so good. Keep it up!
This team and a good upload Schedule..*Chef's kiss*
Guys this is fantastic! Good to see the channel finding its feet again!
This heap has become one of the builds i look forward to seeing on YT now. Stout
Another supercharged video. Keep up the great and entertaining work
Well done guys! Nice work!
It would be really cool if you guys would fully restore this car and squeeze more power out of that engine :)
The three of you work well together and Eathan is just a good worker
Loving the video. Apart from the poxy Greek adverts.
I live in Corfu, so that's not your fault.
Great vid.
Love the cleaning efforts, a clean car is a happy car 😂
Always have been and always will be a big Ethan Fan!
Edwin cleaning made the engine bay looks do good
Ethan: puts an oil cap on
Jack: you can go home now 😂
Amazing work guys!
Getting back into cars and starting here
This is my favourite series on TH-cam recently
@13:45 the silence as he waits in hope for the fitting to hit the floor.
Loving Edwin's Land Rover fleece! 💯
Absolutely epic series, got my ass looking for old 924/944!

Excellent work lads
Great work guys good stuff
Cake decorating 🤣🤣 love these types of episodes. Quality laughs
Sounds great gents, well done
What a beast haha need more episodes like this 👍
Very cool supercharged Porsche engine!
i often find myself rewinding these videos based off the comedic timing of some things, ie jack at 6:46
I am really looking forward to the next video already THANKS GUY'S....😀😀

That was satisfying.. reminds me of decade or so ago when I supercharged my 318ti in my garage.
Put Ethan on surface rust duty, give him a sander and a can of primer. Put that boy to work. He showed us he has skills.
Awesome stuff!
I want to see 150hp at the wheels!
You 3 are the new top gear, it’s time for road trips boys you have to do it. Please.
Spot on boys, spot on ,👏👏

Such a nice episode!
