I liked how everyone completely ignored the mismatched rear tires as a thing to check (here in Finland that is an MOT failure). They would of course be replaced should this ever hit the road again for real, and I really hope it does!
In the UK they don't need to be matching brands, just matching treads. Even in the 1970s we were being told not to mix cross-ply and radials on the same axle and these days I think it's actually illegal. But this car is old enough to be MOT-exempt (you need to be 40+ years from date of manufacture). There are a few exceptions to that rule though.
@@halfbakedproductions7887it's not actually regulated at all here in the UK. As long as all 4 tyres have at least 1.6mm of tread are not cracked or perished and have no tears it doesn't matter if they don't match🤷🏽♂️
In the UK there is no requirement for tyres on an axle to be matching. It's the first thing I look at when looking at a 2nd hand car I'm considering buying. It's not uncommon to see cars wearing 4 different brand tyres. Sometimes they might not even all be the same width or profile. I bought a Ford Sierra in 1998 which had 195/60/14 tyres all round. The fronts were Goodyears, the rears were 'Warrior' (Chinese) ditchfinders. To the naked eye it was obvious that the rear tyres were about an inch wider than the fronts, even though they were all marked as 195s. 4 mismatched tyres points to people who know nothing about and/or have no interest in cars and hence probably haven't looked after it. I believe in Germany if you get an unrepairable puncture in a tyre, you have to replace both tyres on the axle, no matter how good the undamaged tyre was.
Honestly, that would be my dream Porsche 924. No regrets for driving and modifying it, solid structure underneath.. love it! Hope to see it running and driving
As a 944S owner, I love to see the 924 content. They’re great cars. Thankfully the 944’s had better rust prevention so I don’t have to worry about that 😂
I'm pleasantly surprised! I thought that thing was destined for the tip for sure based on how it first looked in the previous vid. I think you guys are on to a winner with this one :)

@@michaelsmedley7519 depending on how old the car is you wouldn't stand a chance even if the car was in brand new condition. old cars suck for crashing.
Honestly, such a good series. Loved the golf and now the porsche - keep up the restorations! Such interesting car choices aswel, when the 924 is back to its former glory would love to see an old BM next.....
the lock work and many of the other parts aren't using PORSCHE parts. they're using VOLKSWAGEN parts. the door handles are off a mk2 golf/jetta, direct swap. dome light, lock tumblers, interior switches, all that stuff comes from the mk1/2 era golf/jetta parts bin. cut that cost down a ways!
If you guys have it in your budget to fix it I certainly would. Given what you paid for it and what you'll pay for the repairs that's still cheaper than finding a running and driving decent Sudan or small van. Plus no matter what Porsche people say it is still a Porsche. I think she's worth saving. Plus you can give the car a fun name like Betty Green or something like that because of all the moss.

The black one was newer and a nicer spec have a sunroof and multi spoke alloys I got both MOTed sold the silver one which paid for the tax mot and insurance for the black one which I owned for 12 months re-MOTed sold the black one for £2500
I genuinely love that, looks like a farm ornament in amongst all those pristine Porsches
Of all of the cars you guys have done I’d say this one deserves the rebuild. Would be an awesome build series
That repair bill wasnt as bad as i was expecting
I believe that is without labour just for parts :)
I love these series you got going on. Keep restoring these old classics. Super fun to watch
Most entertaining.
can't wait to see it on the road 🔥

Jack's such a great presenter. So glad this channel's covering cars that aren't BMWs, unlike the other channel I shan't mention 😆
