I'm a long-time subscriber and remember your early video's. Alie, you have really come a long way and your courage and confidence are impressive. You still exhibit that wonderful charm and vitality. Ben, you always had the demeanor of a calm and confident man, maybe you were "faking it until you make it" sometimes, and now you are a strong, confident and impressively knowledgeable captain. This voyage really is your coming out party. I think all your fans, including me, are proud of you both.
WOW!! I don't do instagram or facebook so this is the only way I get to follow your journey. 19 days already. Dealing with an amazing array of challenges. Im very glad for you guys, for your safe travels, and the completion of yet another goal on this adventure. I suspect you having been surfing your asses off already. Stay safe. ❤🙏
Good job with the squalls - they’re always a flip of the coin…. rain squall, rain squall, WIND SQUALL! Congrats on becoming Shellbacks 🎉 BTW, great photography. You two are fun to watch.
Hi Ben & Allie! I watch you two every week and you always brighten up my day. Allie, try putting an earplug in one ear only. That prevents sea sickness for some people. Peace ✌️
Great to see this video and see where you're at in the crossing, yeah squalls can come out of nowhere at times, I haven't crossed the Pacific Ocean but in years past I have been a crewman sailing NZ waters and the first one you remember forever 😰 but you do learn from it. Alie I think you're doing great you're proving you can fix just about anything even going up the mast in middle of the ocean, I would certainly sail the ocean with you, so safe sailing and looking forward to seeing you make landfall 👍👍😋😋🇳🇿
I'm retired from the US Navy so, as a Golden Shellback, I applaud your Crossing the Equator celebration, the poem, the outfit and your reverence to the ritual. Good job and be safe. Thank you so much for sharing.....
Putting the Starlink away is probably a good thing. Part of why we do what we do is to get away from it all. Staying too connected isn’t helping with that goal. You guys did well. Fun passage.
Don’t know your specifics but you don’t need Teflon tape on a compression fitting. The threads just apply pressure to the two half’s They don’t hold back any water. The seal is the way the two ends fit together. Tape doesn’t hurt any though.
You guys need better audio. Impressed you get as much footage as you do, during storms and under sail. Nice to see your channel growing. Peace (Dorian, SV Arcanum)
Hello I was watching Calico Skies Sailing video and I believe that you all had dinner together. If it was your boat I saw a name under your TV of Metcalfe? Who is the Metcalfe? I am related to the Metcalfe line and live in Texas. My grandfather on my mothers side was a Metcalfe and he always said if that name ended in e they were probably related.
Is your plumbing gray Poly B? Polybutylene? Get rid of it! Most especially the fittings. Replace those with copper ones. Replace all of it with PEX when you can. You can't get water damage ins. in BC with poly B. Your boat shouldn't have it anymore either. Thanks for the vid.
Still catching up on old episodes. Saw you looking at a Cat, too much $. Have you considered a mono with more room. My friends 40 easily slept 6. It was a ketch. Just a thought
Ha we are always considering different boats, different styles, different sizes. We usually end up agreeing that Kiana is perfect for us right now. We would like to be able to host friends/family with 3 large (double), private berths - which could be a larger mono or a cat, but for now we are good with what we have :)

So impressive - the idea of crossing the Pacific Ocean in a little sailboat has me on the verge of a panic attack just sitting here watching this

Thats our buddy Peter Metcalfe on Kessel.. you can find him on Instagram @Kessel_underway
@@BreakingWavesSailing Well since I dont do instagram I wonder if he does youtube?
Remember what Captain Ron says about Squalls!!!
So is Allie the hottest plumber ever? Congrats on crossing the equator. So cool . You two are crushing it.
thank you💙
@10:57 Alie who sings that song?
The squalls suck , but the lightning shows are epic at sea.
lightning scares the daylights outta me
Isn’t fixing your own boat _while underway_ the best feeling? 🙌🤜🤛
yes definitey

Been a long time watcher of your channel. Is it me or is Ben getting grayer?
Just you
You are truly stunning and incredibly beautiful🥰🥰
thank you💙
Alie if I can say this without sounding like an idiot..BUT.....You are Stunningly Gorgeous!!!!!!! There I said it.
*JUST A FRIENDLY REMINDER*
The Pacific is the realm of Tangaroa not Neptune
@chikken_soup Watch dozens of other Pacific sailing crossings. Everyone says Neptune.

Why is she on a boat crossing an ocean if she gets so seasick??
Running out of bullets Micahel?
@@BreakingWavesSailing Have you been drinking again??
