Where is the scope for Indians, in this scenario? Hardly there are Hindus there, in Myanmar, after Burma got separated from (British) Indian Empire in which the last (deposed) Moghul Emperoe was exiled to Burma, where he died. In turn, the British also sent the deposed Burmese King, exiled to India where he died. This apart, relation between the two countries is normal. India doesn't compete with PRC in Myanmar now. And to bring Hindus in the picture is absolutely ridiculous, with no basis.
So far , comparing the Philippines and Burma. The Philippines is not ruled by the military unlike Burma. In the Philippines, civilian Authority over military, while in Burma, military authority over civilian. China can only do business in the Philippines while in Burma , China controls both the businesses and governance because of corrupt military rulers. Besides, General min Aung Hlaing is the architect of ethnic cleansing, ASSK is his defender in ICJ and the shaolin drunken master, Ashin Wirathu supported genocide .
I see many many Myanmar people working in Malaysia. It is not easy and I feel for them. Myanmar people must change their mindsets and adopt for constructive change. Regarding the dam, perhaps you need to read about dams in China. When the lady said the river was a major one that supported the lives of people downstream, she might not know that the two longest and major rivers in China (Yellow River and Yangtze River) have dams too. So, China is not going to impose bad things to Myanmar, but things that they think are good for the people in Myanmar. However, perhaps some Chinese companies are not good enough to help Myanmar, but the Myanmar's government should talk to the senior government of China regarding this. I am sure that the senior government of China would be good to Myanmar and its people.

@@giacomocapodellago3246 China recognised a global problem from the West, something that was done deliberately to keep countries in third world states in order to over exploit them for resources. China are building roads and infrastructure in countries that never had such things, and even bringing in new technologies whilst taking a step away from the political as they have no interest in dictating those countries nor controlling them like the Western nations did. I am in the Guandu District in Kunming City. I didn't go around the corner to one of the roads that leads to the tea town, a police station and a nearby Metro in over two years. We have been ordering things from Metro online so no need to get a taxi up that way. Earlier this year I got the wrong bus and it went up that street and stopped half way up. Well, I had no clue where I was. It really shocked me, as I was only aware of two developments happening with the slow building of 2 residencies; slow because of the plandemic that stalled development. But, late last year they start up again and what the actual heck! an entire block on one side of the road was completely demolished, and another on the other side to widen the road; think about how massive a city block is. Like what the actual heck! The Mall was sorta still there behind some wooden fences, but would soon be demolished. China's development is impressive, they move fast and are quick to tear down areas, likely using explosives (even though it's only 4 blocks away I heard nothing????) How is that even possible? So, wherever they are doing in Mynamar and in other undeveloped countries I am sure will greatly impact and improve those countries, but unlike Western colonisation, China isn't going to rule over them and they will be able to frame off it and grow their own countries.
This series is eye opening! One point that comes through in every episode is the futility of national boundaries. This is particularly true in Asia where humans have mixed and mingled for 5,000 years.
British rule in Burma lasted from 1824 to 1948, from the successive three Anglo-Burmese wars through the creation of Burma as a Province of British India to the establishment of an independently administered colony, and finally independence. The region under British control was known as British Burma.
Well, many people here seem to forget the fact the dam was agreed to be constructed when the junta military was in power prior to 2010. The Myanmar Junta government was brutal to the people, especially ethnic people. Kachin state where this dam was being constructed is an ethnic state. Everything was kept in the dark back then and the dam was secretly built. When people protested, the military government just shot them with guns. Now, the Chinese company and the Myanmar government should educate us, the people of Myanmar, the benefits and risks of building a dam, and should listen to and address the concern of the people of Myanmar. Let's be honest, this dam will not be built without the approval of the people of Myanmar, at least not in this day and age.
That british woman is most likely paid by the usa government , to organize protest groups to try to hinder all China initiated projects, so as to keep the people in these developing countries poor. The biggest fear of the usa government is the poor people becoming wealthy , Because when that happens, it becomes very difficult for the usa government to control and brain wash these people.
Only 12 years? 12 years is a long time. The only question is whether she learned anything in that time or if she still acts as if she stepped off the plane yesterday.
@@philiphaiqing9748 LOL. Nothing to do with wanting people to remain poor - China cares as little about the citizens of the countries it invests in as the USA does. The reality is the USA is the New World Order's enforcement arm, trying to encircle both Russia and China (two countries that are not playing by the rules) by trying to overthrow governments and install client regimes in their place. Myanmar is one such country that is being targeted, which explains the Rohingya crisis, which is manufactured by the US, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and their allies. America wants to subvert all countries until there are none left to subvert - that will allow a global government to take over in it's place. This process has been ongoing for decades and will probably continue for many more to come. That's what's going on here - coerced globalization.

It is so shocking to find out that the people who obtain this jade are so desperately poor and so I'll and treated so badly !when so much money is made from the jade they find yet they get nothing ! Anthony Morse make such great programs I love to watch
First, Chinese buyers are private business people. They go where there is good supply and good quality of a product they are looking for. In other words they are sourcing products for their businesses. It is just rocks. Nothing illegal like some endangered animal species. Chinese businessmen , and any other businessmen from any country, just travel around the globe to source products. It has nothing to do with the government of China. On the contrary, Myanmar Government should be more engaged with regulations and laws. The local government is at fault. If you open the door of your house, you can set rules of who can come in, and what they are allowed to do in your house, and ...etc Chinese business people go to buy jade. They bargain for the price. if agreed , they pay and get the product. They don't have the responsibility of asking the supplier if the rock was obtained in the black market, or it was a guy addicted to drugs who went to the mountains. Anyways, the seller would lie. Just to get the sales. There is an interview with the guy in charge of the jade association in the jade market. Doesn't he controls and regulates where the jade comes from ? The government is corrupted and other local sellers. They don't care. They just want the business from the Chinese. And, I bet there is a mafia in the jade trade where only a few local sellers get rich, and are in bed with the government officials. Stop blaming others. Go to the real source of corruption. And It starts with the local business people, politicians, and even the people who , supposedly, enforces the law. And, this happens in every third world country, and in a develop country but in a lesser degree. Look at the USA. Wake up people !

Please calm down. His work is almost the lease biased one I could see on TH-cam. Much better than the biased western journalists. Sometimes, people just focus on what they believe. China believes in development, while some believes in China bad.
Of course , the Western countries ever since lost their colonialism. They are not happy and try everything in any manners to sabotage the rise of China. Look at Libya , Egypt and Syria wars. This is what they have done to other countries. They like powers unlike China just like economy development win win for participating countries.
Some of you guys didn't even know what is the meaning of bias and misrepresentation. for example, when talking about the jade mining, he said drug use is a process of the jade mining, For the benefit of doubt, I don't even think about it was a setup... He didn't even talk about how the USA went in Myanmar to influent the government stopping many of the China's projects. The USA paid villagers to come out and cry for the hydropower Dam project destroy wildlife habitat. and call for a stop for the project. Come on, does it make sense? Wipe out a hydropower project because of wild life habitat?
Would love to visit Myanmar one day. My former housekeeper came from there. They have this way of putting up their makeup with a string and chalk on their off day before going out with her country folks to Peninsular shopping center.
How will these presently and future displaced people be compensated? For they will be removed from their land, displaced from their fishing grounds, lose their housing, farming. How will these people be made whole? Many of the unsophisticated people are not able to see the issues that they will be placed in. They must demand housing, skills training and education, and new ways of making money. Or else they will be oppressed and displaced.
The jade part doesn't make any sense. China gets the jade and Myanmar gets the money. It's a fair deal. It should be the local government to take actions to regulate a industry if they want to make money from it without causing other problems. If China should take care of everything, then for fairness they shouldn't pay this much money. But I don't think these miner will like that.
You are right. These are business people sourcing the best product for their business. If there are illegal people going to the mountains, and some are drug addicts because of the physical pain, blame the government. Doesn't the government enforce regulations and laws on their land ? The problem is corruption. Many big local sellers are connected to the politicians, and the police. They say that the jade trade business is about 30 billion. It is huge business . And since sales are all by cash, they can avoid taxes. No wonder poverty is a big problem in Myanmar.
Very true. Its crazy to blame China all because some local people , decides to take drugs . So if tomorrow it rains , the usa government will also say that its China's fault . If it does not rain, the usa government will also blame China . Really ridiculous to blame China for everything which is not even linked to China at all.
Sigh. In order to get an Indian access China is taking so much risk with an unstable country, losing huge amount of money simply because the local government cannot resolve the issues. Honestly speaking, Myanmar's future is not going to adversely affect China's future. Without it, China will just have to resort to the old way or another route to continue her win-win global vision of trade, and leave Myanmar to her own backward state of life. You can show people the way, but they have to take the first step.
The people need to know the growing pain" of development. In Singapore, Malaysia, and China people went through the process of change. It was not easy. That village lifestyle changed to urban living. Losing of sentimental landmarks to make way for highway and industrial parks.
The chinese when they need your help they will kowtow you but after getting their hunger of wants and satisfaction they will not listen or knowing you. No gratitude at all.

Myanmar can see a small fishing village can turn into a mega economic zone just like Shenzhen in China and even replace Singapore as a major container port far away from the choke point of Malacca strait. China is a major importer and exporter of goods to Middle East, Africa and Europe through this new sealane. Myanmar play a pivotal role in the new Silk Road. It is up to the government to negotiate a fair share of the profit for its people.

A. Morse’s descriptive and illustrative journey recording the changes resulting from the Chinese Silk-road developments in Myanmar is fascinating. The pros and cons of the effects of huge Chinese investments are astounding and also worrying as it is and will transform the lives of millions of people. The reality and effect of infrastructure construction I.e. deep sea ports, economic zones, River Damms, and Jade mining requires careful planning, care and protection of local populations, who must be safeguarded , and compensated by opportunities in order to benefit from these immense changes. ♦️♦️♦️
People need to view the future for the landlocked country and the younger generation future as well with an open mind for new progress.

While the other ASEAN countries has this projects, China has supported the Build Build Build project in the Philippines.... Kindly discuss it too..
Thank you bro ...after long time i saw my country
I see many many Myanmar people working in Malaysia. It is not easy and I feel for them. Myanmar people must change their mindsets and adopt for constructive change. That is the only way to move forward and bring progress to themselves. Holding on to old values and resisting change will deny their children a better future. Work for a win win outcome and creat jobs for the youth.

No easy way to solution this problem, but I think Myanmar gov should give some compensate for those people who living near by rive.

sounds like the most basic thing you could ever do
totally necessary i'd say. best form of diplomacy I've ever heard
Democracy/Freedom/Environmental Protection... In fact, some Burmese still can't solve the problem of food and clothing, and you will pay for oxygen to the Amazon rainforest? The West had industrialized by plundering colonial resources and destroying the environment, and they had prospered. Then they say to poor countries, you should protect the environment, even if you die of hunger, how benevolent Western colonists.
Right
it is a good video to watch and informative also.
Thank you for posting your ethnicity - I was wondering. I was born in Asia, grew up in Europe and emigrated to the US many years ago. So this particular video touches me deeply. Thank you so much for making these videos and sharing them w/ us.
Once was British empire, now Chinese. At least the Chinese don't use weapons against the local.
Yeah but they need education to they don’t sound educated these people so they don’t really comprehend what is happening in their country

So.......what kind of positive contributions did US or any other western countries make to Myanmar???
They don’t put other countries in a national debt trap
@@givmethesucc3914 oh they just did by sanctioning Myanmar's economy, since Feb 1st 2021.
Your Last Statement Was Awesome
Peace & love gives prosperity.
Why do we have to listen to a British woman who stayed there for only 12 years?
hungry panda ok...i...onle...betes....bagla....
That british woman is most likely paid by the usa government ,
to organize protest groups to try to hinder all China initiated projects,
so as to keep the people in these developing countries poor.
The biggest fear of the usa government is the poor people becoming wealthy ,
Because when that happens, it becomes very difficult for the usa government to control and brain wash these people.

In other words they are sourcing products for
their businesses.
If you open the door of your house, you can set rules of who can come in, and what they are allowed to do in your house, and ...etc
Chinese business people go to buy jade.
And, I bet there is a mafia in the jade trade
where only a few local sellers get rich, and are in bed with the government officials.
Stop blaming others.
Go to the real source of corruption. And It starts with the local business people, politicians,
and even the people who , supposedly, enforces the law.
And, this happens in every third world country, and in a develop country but in a lesser degree. Look at the USA.
Wake up people !

Too much western bias. Is this chap representing asian or Western views? Why so many interviews with westerners? CNA should reconsider using this Trojan horse.
Please calm down. His work is almost the lease biased one I could see on TH-cam. Much better than the biased western journalists. Sometimes, people just focus on what they believe. China believes in development, while some believes in China bad.
Calm down my friend, Develop you country, strength your power, and then show your muscles to the western bias.
Asia's rise is unstoppable.
Kudos mr, Morse. Well done!
Yeah that was slanted. Then if China was to do that the story would have been framed as China taking sovereignty from Myanmar.
Very true.
Its crazy to blame China all because some local people ,
decides to take drugs .

Now you know why Myanmar is in turmoil.

As far as l know, the Japanese don't want to invest in Myanmar.l had been living in Japan since the early 1980・ The Japanese companies concentrated to invest in Bangkok, because Thai has good facilites and skill workers and good environments.and they sold their merchandises to near by Asean countries. Myanmar has no sufficient electric supply, water supply, inferstructure for transports.............. In Thai if you hire a worker, but in Myanmar you have to hire four peoples. We have to say thanks to China Pauk-phor to invest in here,After 2000, The Japanese invest more projects in Bangladesh than in Myanmar, because they get more profit there then in Myanmar.Myanmar people didn'tknow the real situations of his neighbors. Those are private companies, not come to donate or doing social welfare for Myanmar, if they loose money, then they will draw back their capitals or change to other countries.
